Every time I have come here the employees are very friendly and nice, knowledgeable about the items and quick service. Some of the best treats I've ever had. The tiramisu is to die for. The location itself is so beautiful, and I always feel welcome. The coffee is also incredible, with attention to great roasts and flavors to perk you up. I love this place and I would choose it over the competitors any way.

My wife is GF and DF, so anytime we visited Portland, a stop at Gem was a must. For her 30th birthday we showed up today with the whole family only to see that masks were required before 10 AM... in 2024!! I'm not putting masks on my young children to eat donuts in a practically empty bakery. Don't say "all are welcome" and then put requirements on customers that are years outdated. Doesn't sound very inclusive to me. Also, why isn't this mentioned anywhere on Yelp? We drove 45 minutes just for GF donuts. You lost a customer today. We'll be eating at Petunias exclusively from now on.

Everything is gluten free!!!! I am unafraid to eat anything on the menu, this was my first time stopping by the shop and it also happens to be the shop's birthday. The folks working were so nice and accommodating. I cannot wait to try more treats here, their pretzels are up next on my menu!!

Close enough to the ModaCenter to enjoy between March Madness basketball games, this place rocks!!! The cookies, cake, donuts, muffins and coffeecake all were moist and delicious!! I have traveled around the world and this gf bakery is the BEST I have had!!! Way to go team!!!

I called to reset a retirement cake and the phone system is terrible to get a person to assist you. I needed a cake by Wednesday and called first thing on Monday because they were recommended by another bakery. They refused to be accommodating about their 72 hour rule even though I was pretty close. It is not my fault as a new customer that I don’t know your rules. Poor customer service, this company is pretty inflexible and I would rather give my business to an organization that has rules but also knows that new people don’t know your ways and sometimes reasonable accommodation is needed. Don’t worry I won’t comeback

The banana chocolate chip bread was AMAZING. Loved the s’mores bar and chai donut as well.

Absolutely amazing! The workers were so welcoming and kind, and they were so patient while I was choosing what to order. I got a cinnamon roll and it is one of the best gluten free baked goods I've ever tried. Fluffy and delicious, it was 5$ and fairly large for the price!Parking: Parking was easy to find around 11 am on a Sunday!

I ordered a birthday cake from here. It was a cake with custom decoration. The cake decoration looked fabulous. However, the cake was not even close to good. Nobody could eat it at our gathering. I'm not a fussy eater but i couldn't eat it either. The cake batter was somewhat uncooked. The cake had no flavor in it, the cream tasted store bought . when you buy an expensive cake, you don't expect this. Never going to this place again.

This place is incredible. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday breakfast as a surprise as I’m celiac and had never been in before and we wound up buying my chocolate strawberry birthday cake here. It barely lasted a few days between the two of us because it was nothing short of HEAVENLY ?? Not too sweet, so smooth and rich, the strawberry hints absolutely made it. I also got three different baked goods while in the shop and each was *chef’s kiss*. A potato/savory pie of some kind, the key lime tart, and the cinnamon roll. We will be back and I know you won’t regret getting these cakes for any occasion whether you’re celiac, vegan, or have no dietary restrictions at all!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Love the pumpkin cheese cake!

I've never had such scrumptious baked goods that are gluten free! It looked like about half were vegan as well, and everything is very clearly labeled. What I tried: - peanut butter buckeye bar. Scrumptious and rich. - cinnamon scone. I was a bit worried as it looked flat, and GF bakery items can be hard or dry. It was exceptionally good, softer texture without totally crumbling to a mess (which can happen with GF). Better than most wheat-based scones I've had. Excellent next day too. - cream cheese cinnamon coffee cake. I will dream of this. It's a very good light coffee cake but with a cream cheese cinnamon layer through the middle. So great with coffee. Survived brilliantly to next day. - cinnamon donut. The donuts are not fried and I didn't have high expectations as a result. It tasted like a light teacake dusted with cinnamon sugar. I'd eat this one same day as you buy it.

Brownies are dry, and cakey. Reminds me of an army ration. Too sugary and crumbly. Not a brownie.
