The best. Just the best southern food and dining. Experience. Collards were incredible. Even though we didn't have a reservation on a Friday night they got us in, I'm from the south and my r made great southern cuisine. This was impeccable,

Just the perfect dining experience. The food, oh my god, the food. I grew up in the south but THIS is how southern food should be made. Collards were perfect. Mac and Cheese with pimento was a welcome change. Service was so friendly. I can't say enough good things.

My friends who live locally in Oregon, picked me up from the PDX airport and knew that I love mac n' cheese. They did a search and found Yonder. We ordered our food for togo, because we're not comfortable dining indoors just yet. I got a side of mac and one biscuit. They ordered fried chicken and I can't remember what else? We parked a block away and made our way to the restaurant. It's very cute inside, and everyone including the staff are all happy. This is a concept is something I'm not used to seeing, happy customers and employees!!! In California that's just not the case, Oregon, you have something to be proud of. I did use the bathroom. They are all gender, private locked stalls in the back of the building. You walk down a long hallway to through a couple of doors, and then you're finally there. Yay!

Yonder has great food and drinks. Everyone is very nice. You walk in and the host is super friendly and nice. Our server was very helpful and nice. She had great suggestions and the descriptions of drinks to suggestions on what to add with what we ordered was perfect.

Oh what a delightful place! We had the hush puppies, snazzy cocktails, grits and incredibly tender and flavorful pot roast. (Way more elegant than it sounds ? ) Our waiter was fantastic, attentive and helpful and fun. Took dessert to go, a decadent banana pudding that was such a treat. We will be back! So glad we found our way here.

The fried chicken sandwich (dipped) was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken was delicious - so crispy and moist. Honestly just a great balance of savory and fresh flavors. The hot honey fries had a great kick. To top it off, the folks at Yonder were kind enough to gift us a couple servings of banana pudding when we had to wait a few minutes for our takeout order, which was a wonderful surprise. We were really blown away with how good everything was, our only regret was squeezing it in on the way to the airport instead of being able to enjoy right there.(My dad recommended this place to me based off a youtube show he saw, would love to give credit but not sure his source!)

WOW! Delicious down home Southern cooking in NE Portland. If you like Southern food, even just a little, you have to try Yonder!Their fried chicken is on point, it's seasoned perfectly, so crispy and deliciously decadent! Yep, decadent fried chicken ? ? the juices sealed inside the crispy, potatochip thin, batter that seems fused with the chicken skin will make you think you've drooled on yourself! ???The best fried catfish I've ever had the pleasure of tasting, served with special bbq sauce, order and enjoy with delight.Melt in your mouth biscuits... seriously just go there and thank me after!!

Service was good, most of the food was good (but nothing amazing). Had mac, pea salad, biscuits, rillettes, and lemonade; all fine. The chicken was a disappointment though. Under seasoned, had a weird texture, and no crumble. Not bad, but wouldn't go there again for fried chicken.

In the words of my son: on a scale of one to 10, this chicken sandwich gets an 11 (and the school one gets a negative one).I'd agree. The sandwich is big and delicious. I eat the whole thing every time and kind of regret it because I'm stuffed and have no leftovers (and it keeps well for lunch the next day....).I've had a few other things, and they are solid, but the chicken is where it's at.

My family and I are from Mobile Alabama, so believe me when I say I know southern cooking. The food here is fantastic. A few places around Portland featured on DDD have let me down-- I don't know Yonder from that exposure, but it was well-deserved! When I'm unbearably nostalgic for the Gulf, the chicken and dumplings from here brings tears to my eyes. The banana pudding is amazing. You know a place is real and authentic when they have Cheerwine!! I've been really down during quarantine, and miss my family a ton. Thank you, Yonder, because your food makes me feel closer to the love I am oh-so-far-from.

The old fashioned was good, the biscuit was good, the chicken sandwich was good. You kind of needed a cartoon mouth that unhinged to eat the sandwich, though. Wish they had aoli. Also felt like my plate was going to slide into my lap when I was cutting my food, there's no barrier so they should put down a napkin or something for friction. The service and the people were amazing and I loved the atmosphere. The wine pour was super weak. Overall I probably wouldn't recommend but I'd join friends if they were going.

The BOMB!! Love this place. This was our first meal in Portland and couldn't have loved our time here more. The staff were warm and welcoming, the food - DELICIOUS, and the environment was so unique and inviting. The grits and roast were soooo tasty!! Also the most beautiful grits I've ever seen. They're fried chicken was also delicious. Being from the south, I enjoyed how they included lace curtains and milk glass used throughout the decor (super southern) and also the other more modern/simple aesthetic choices. Stop at this spot for sure!!

Whoever owns this place and created this menu should be absolutely so proud of themselves for being able to provide this amazing & delicious food to all of us peasants on planet earth. My tastebuds exploded. The bread banana pudding will make you cry. The chicken is so f'n good & juicy. The biscuits and the sweet butter that goes with it is to die for. Basically everything is amazing and you need to go here. This is amazing southern cooking. Thank you. 10/10. Hot damn.

My daughter and I were going to a concert downtown and wanted to try something new to us and she found this little spot. Since that night a few weeks ago I have been dreaming about their slaw! And let me tell you I. HATE. SLAW! I will try a bite of anything and this stuff is amazing!! Delicious crispy cabbage and apples, perfect amount of Mayo and dill. So good! Now, on to what they are really known for, the chicken. My daughter got one of the chicken sandwiches. She loved it! Juicy chicken with a delightful relish. I am gluten free and they don't have a ton of options on their menu so I got the catfish. It was a huge serving and very good. Last, but not least, the drink. I ordered the Roadside Farm stand, a gin drink topped with cucumber sorbet, so unique and refreshing! My only constructive criticism would be to try to make more of your items gluten-free. These days it's really not too hard. Thank you for a delicious dinner and a great start to a night out with my girl!

Great great flavors, we will be back to try the different versions of fried chicken. But wow cocktail prices at $14 each. Can't afford anymore. Went with beer instead.
