“Went the other night for the first time for dinner. Service was excellent and friendly, and did a good job answering questions. We got an appetizer of the beets that was delicious. The short rib risotto was out of this world - tender, flavorful and absolutely delicious. The goat however was a big miss. Came out as a round rolled piece that seemed unfortunately overcooked and tough. I was expecting a braised goat closer to a braised short rib. The couple next to us had the same two dishes and I noticed they didn't enjoy the goat either. The creme brulee desert was also spectacular. The atmosphere gets 3 because on a cold night, and with the restaurant being as small and cramped as it is, anytime someone comes or goes there's freezing cold wind that blows in. I wish more restaurants here did what they do in NYC with the plastic vestibules in front of the doors to prevent that.”

“This is my husband and I’s FAVORITE spot now. The food is incredible- truly unique flavors, curated menu, combinations of elements that are a new experience every time. Service is always so friendly- the owner and head chef is the happiest and warmest person. He is a delight to be around! We keep coming back time and time again and it never gets old! You MUST visit!!”

“Excellent dining experience. Service, by Kai, was as good as the food. A tad pricey, but this kind of cuisine and professional service should be. BYOB saves a few bucks, so I will be back. The endive salad with a Dijon vinaigrette was sublime and the Red Snapper the best we’ve had. Oh, and the New York strip steak was mouthwatering and cooked to perfection. Treat yourself and experience what fine dining is.”

“Great craft beer menu. We ordered a few appetizers: plain nachos (large plate; very cheesy & delicious), margarita pizza and fried pickles (both were very good). Bartenders were very attentive. It’s a converted bank so you can still see the vault which is a cool feature. Highly recommend.”

“Needed a bathroom, this place was open. I walked in and I got hungry from the delicious smell of fresh meats being cooked. I got something I've never tried before. It was deep fried burrito filled with steak and veggies and sour cream. It was damn delicious. Great find.... And yes, I got to use the bathroom while I waited for my food. Win win.

“I've frequented the Broad Axe for quite some time and love it for the friendly and welcoming staff and warm atmosphere. The food is good and they have an extensive beer and spirits list. The skilled bartenders can whip up anything to suit a mood or taste.”

“This is one of my favorite spots to visit during hot summer days for water ice and ice cream. They're always changing flavors but overall the options are very simple. I also love the blendinis and mistos. The staff here are usually made up of local high school students but the service is still good. Everyone is really friendly”

“Wake Coffee is my favorite coffee shop in the area! The Sunrise Sandwich is a must, and the Draft Latte has a perfect flavor profile with chocolate notes in it. Kid-friendliness: Has a great kids menu great for picky eaters. They have plenty of booster seats and high chair. Food has a relatively fast turnaround. I would suggest ordering kids food with the drinks if you have antsy kids.”

“We had dinner at Planchette yesterday in celebration of Father’s Day. In addition to my husband and myself, our daughter, son in law, and two adult grandsons shared the meal. The food was absolutely the best we’ve had in a very long time. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff was wonderful too. Everyone knows it’s been very difficult getting and keeping staff since the pandemic hit. It’s a shame the folks that complained so bitterly about having to wait did not take this fact into consideration. We’d heartily recommend this restaurant for a fine dining experience.”
