“I'm an avid mobile order user using the drive-thru, and this location has always done great. Food is consistent with what I've ordered and it tastes good. I've only had one occasion where I was asked to come inside instead, but it hasn't happened since then.“
“Bought shrimp tacos, chicken tacos, esquites, chicken tacos and guacamole. The only downside is that the chicken tacos were made with dark chicken thigh meat, I wrongly assumed it would be chicken breast (my fault for not asking).Otherwise good decent food!“
“First time dining. Our server was Sergio and he was great. The owner was also in the store expressing his passion which was great to see. We wanted to try traditional dishes other than tacos/burritos and ordered molcajetes. Out of all the meats, shrimp and chicken were my favorites. Drinks are on a sweeter note and foods big portions. Ambiance is cozy but spacious. Ill be back for more dishes for sure! Pretty place overall :)“
“Cute little diner vibes, with fun music playing (like pop rave ish type music). There was only one man working when we went and he was the server and host, as the place wasn't huge. He was quick to seat us, very attentive and super friendly. I ordered the chilaquiles with salsa verde and it was ridiculously tasty, I do wish I had gotten the salsa verde on the side as the tortilla chips quickly became soggy, but still, perfect flavor in my eyes. Will try to stop back there the next time we're in Philly.“
“I recently dined at El Mezcal Cantina and had a fantastic experience. We started with the Chilango chicken wings seasoned with Tajín, which were absolutely delicious and had just the right kick of chili powder. The variety of ceviches we tried were all delightful, but the one with passion fruit was a standout favorite among our group. The owner personally greeted us and inquired about our dining experience, which added a special touch to the evening. The service from all the waitstaff and employees was exceptional, and the bartender even went above and beyond to craft a delicious mocktail for me when I opted not to drink alcohol. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience with great food and wonderful service. Highly recommended!“
“We just found this gem last night. The food was fabulous, we tried a few of the different tacos and each one was delicious. The margarita's were on point, definitely try the Green Spicy! The waitstaff and management were very friendly as well. We will definitely be back.“
“Shared a birthday lunch with my son and was surprised when a slice of cake was delivered to our table. It was a complete surprise as the owner was never informed it was my son's birthday ?.Will definitely return for the delicious food and wonderful staff/chef!“
“Really great, inventive haute cuisine real Mexican; well executed thoughtfully prepared. Might have slipped a bit since my initial visit, but that could just be me being super impressed first go-around. Quite noisy on the weekends, be prepared to wait for your cocktails.“
“Indulging in the culinary delights of this establishment was a remarkable experience, with each dish not only delivering unparalleled flavors but also showcasing exquisite and artful plating. The restaurant’s ambiance is a testament to tasteful decoration, creating a captivating environment that enhances the overall dining experience. Moreover, the service provided surpassed expectations, contributing significantly to the overall satisfaction. The staff’s attentiveness and professionalism added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal, making it a truly memorable culinary journey. From the moment I stepped in, the delightful fusion of remarkable food presentation and impeccable service made this dining experience stand out, leaving me eager to revisit and savor more of the culinary delights this establishment has to offer.“
“This was some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. I was hesitant to go here because of the location, but once you make it in you forget where you are. I would highly recommend checking it out. Our server was also really quick and tentative!“
“We had the best service with Kate! She gave us tips on what to order and ahead of time was dead on. We started with a cocktail and had a glass of wine with dinner. We split the spicy chicken empanadas, delicious, however, we did not detect the spice. We split the green chili Caesar. Honestly, the best Caesar in town. I do t see how they get it so cold and crisp, it's amazing! We then each had a ceviche. The baby shrimp, which were much bigger than anticipated, such wonderful flavor! My daughter had the crab, the server suggested mixing it right away to get the sauce mixed in. Very good! It did need more liquid. We simply poured the extra shrimp sauce in the crab, it was superb after that. The tomato on the shrimp just gives it more moisture and such a good flavor! We can't wait to go back!“
“Such an amazing amazing amazing experience. From the time we walked in til the time we walked out. Upon arrival, hosts greeted us, and immediately sat our party down. As we were seated our waiter approached us shortly after super friendly and sweet, she was very patient, open with feedback and suggestions did not steer us wrong at all! The food was delicious, from our starter into our entree and non alcoholic drink but wait there’s more the delicious desserts were great! The ambiance was truly wonderful, not too loud just right, not too dark nor too bright, just right, the aesthetic was lovely. This spot was truly a gem and will be returning. The customer service was great and I wish I could remember her name to give her recognition. May the Lord bless her and the chefs. Bathrooms were warm and clean. Everything was cooked well, hot, timing was quick. Keep it up LMNO!“
“Yup! This place is great. There isn't a lot of seating but the hospitality is great here. We ordered an al pastor taco, shrimp taco, and Campechana quesadilla. Service was quick and it was nice how fresh the al pastor was. The shrimp taco was spicy which was very nice. The al pastor was very juicy. Hands down the Campechana quesadilla was my favorite thing in the menu. It was basically al pastor with cactus. I really liked the juiciness of the cactus. It was all so good that we forgot to put on our sauces. The place offers a ton of beverage options. From beer to flavored glass soda bottles to coffee. I opted for a coffee and it was amazing! They have a cafe style machine that works very well. We also got a guava soda just like you can pick up at a Mexican convenient store. The place also has to good amount of dessert which we both opt out of. There are donuts, pastries, etc. At the end of the meal we returned our trays to the front.“
“This is some of the best food around in Philly. The waiter here made some suggestions to what we should get and it did not disappoint at all. Would definitely come back here to try something else from the menu and I'm sure it will be just as good.“
“Amazing service! Both of the ladies that served us were kind and understanding of the fact we didn’t know a lick of Spanish! The food had amazing flavor with a kick to it that made every bite its own party. Out of all the reasons not to go to Camden, La Ingrata might be my biggest reason to come back!“
“Cool vibe, friendly service, I love the logo! We arrived as happy hour was changing over and quickly ordered. We found that our happy hour tacos we considerably less enjoyable than the ones we ordered after happy hour concluded. Fun spot, certainly would go before a show at Union Transfer.“
“This is the best burrito place in NoLibs. The staff is really nice. I usually opt for no chipotle mayo but highly recommend the following!!Chicken torta Milanese (this is one of my favorite sandwiches in the city generally)Chicken burritoGreen chilaquiles“
“Don Mezcal was an incredible experience. Right as you walk in, you can feel the amazing atmosphere. The food and service are also amazing, and I was taken away by the quality of the food. I would definitely recommend Don Mezcal to someone, as it was amazing.“
“I'm a native Texan and I am in HEAVEN. I just moved in down the street and this place is AMAZING. El Caracol serves up authentic dishes that are incredible and oh man I'm gonna eat so much. My husband ordered the camerones a la diabla (deviled shrimp) and they are gloriously garlicy. Add the orange sauce for extra spicy. I ordered the burrito mojado (wet burrito) with carnitas (it's the most delicious braised pork) and I could not stop eating it. The green salsa on the burrito is the perfect medium spicy. I cannot say enough good things. I am so thankful El Caracol is near me. It's small but this place is a must try. If you don't like it we can't be friends.“
“The food was excellent! I ate the nachos and veggies burrito. We ate at the upstairs bar and the bartender was great with recommendations for drinks and add-ons for food. It was funny to me that the decor is more old fashioned diner than Mexican restaurant, but it worked.“
“My fiancé and I came here to eat and I must say that the aesthetics here are so cute! The staff are friendly and their food is delicious! For apps: I recommend trying the steamed pork gyoza and Italian egg roll. For tacos: I recommend the tofu taco. It’s very crispy and moist. The ramen is good as well. For drinks I recommend the jasmine lemon green tea. We definitely would come back! :)“
“I’ve eaten here twice, now. I thought there was no way that what I ordered tonight (quesadillas w/rib eye) could match the Bufalo pizza from two days ago. I was as wrong as I could be. I’m guessing that I will eat here 80 to 100 times this year. It’s THAT good.“
“Food was great!! We tried the ceviche, guacamole, quesabirria, enchiladas con mole and chalupitas. It was all great food! We were able to spend time with the chef and he's such a sweet funny person. It just added to our experience. The service was smooth quick and polite! Parking can be tough and it may get busy bc the food is great but it's definitely worth trying this place out!“
“I was in the neighborhood to drop off and pick up my kid at an urban air birthday party. Popped in to grab lunch while I waited. So glad I did! Chilaquiles were delicious and a huge portion. Staff were all great too. Can’t wait to come back!!!“
“The BEST aguachile in Philly hands down!!! (I always get the same thing, aguachile Verde mix to with extra seafood) Actually, they have the best of everything I've tried there so far. That includes the Birria Consomme, the guacamole, the ceviche, the albondigas, and the crab tostados. I'll add pics the next time I go. I HIGHLY recommend this place, you won't be disappointed! Plus the staff is super friendly.“
“I would give 6 stars if I could!!! Such a great addition to Havertown! The food is delicious, love the vibe and the service is amazing!!! The pineapple express wings were AMAZING! I saw some instagram stories saying to get them and our server Marissa (who was the sweetest by the way) sealed the deal by saying awesome they were- she was right!!! I am not a huge wing person and could have eaten 20 of them! The guac is so good and fresh; served with warm chips. My husband and I both got fajitas- shrimp and steak, soooo good! Also the cucumber marg was great, strong (not mad about that) and delicious! Adding this in because my husband is a huge sports guy- the Phillies ended and within minutes they put on March Madness games- no awkward gap where you're watching infomercials for hours (it is his pet peeve haha). So happy that Al Pastor is in town! Can't wait to return!“
“I must have passed by this foodtruck 100x without trying but decided to give it a shot today on lunch break. I love burritos, tacos, churros and all more than most. This was the best steak burrito I've had in recent memory! I won't be passing by again without grabbing something. Birria tacos on my to do list! Highly recommend!“
“Mole Poblano is a local gem. Second to none in every category from service and food to tacos and tamales. The enchiladas de mole was spicy, sweet and filling. Would also recommend the breakfast sandwiches which are a healthy size. Come hungry and leave happy!“
“Lived in Philly for 15 years tried most of the Mexican restaurants here. Today was my first time dining, and I can honestly say this is one of the best Mexican places in the city. Flavorful dishes and warm friendly service! Can’t wait to come back again! Thank you for the delicious meal ?“
“I love this restaurant! We had a birthday party here for 25 people, and Karina and Angel are so kind and they did an incredible job. They made great mixers for our tequila, and the food was absolutely delicious and so plentiful! They were responsive and easy to work with while planning, and we felt so welcomed in the restaurant. They even set up balloons and a "happy birthday" banner. Highly recommend Los Cuatros Soles for dinner or for a party.“
“The truck is 40 minutes from me so I got there at 3:00pm on the dot on Tuesday. The truck was not there. I checked their Instagram for maybe an update but there wasn't one. I sat and waited in the car. (Btw there's a free parking lot and plenty free street parking). They finally arrived at 3:15pm and setup at 3:20pm. People lined up so fast. They took the first 5 orders then made them. I didn't have my order taken until 3:45pm. The lady taking orders was kind and sweet. She made sure I knew what I ordered so there were no mix ups. I ordered the Chicken Birria tacos & cantaloupe juice. 3 tacos are $15 and 1 juice is $5. They only take cash so come prepared. I didn't see an ATM around. I finally received my order at 4:05pm. I didn't eat it until I got home. The tacos were still crunchy and flavorful! 3 tacos comes with consume sauce to dip, onions, 1 jalapeno pepper and a side of spicy sauce (IDK what it was). I would recommend that they premade maybe 10 or 20 sets of tacos that way they will get their line down quicker. I understand things happen so there's a lot of reasons why they may have been late to open. But, I have seen other complaints on their Instagram of them not being there on time. At least post letting customers know that you will be there later. Other than that I would definitely recommend anyone to try their tacos if you are in the area. But if you're further away like me and want to go to pick up lunch "real quick," it won't be real quick! You're better off finding Birria tacos at a Mexican truck near you. I'm glad I tried them and had the time to wait!Parking: A lot of street parking and free parking lot under the overpass“
“We went for happy hour and sat at the bar. The nachos are out of this world! Try the spicy margarita, it was delicious. We got a pitcher of regular margaritas and they were only ok, but staff was nice, the food was good and the atmosphere was great.“
“my first time stepping into this restaurant and the attentive service was just as GREAT as the delicious food i was servednot too many places render both great customer service and great food but this place does THANX TO ALEJANDRA CABRERA for making my visit welcoming ? i definitely will stop again and recommend this place hands down“
“We ordered a torta al pastor and enchiladas verdes. Everything on both plates was delicious except for the chicken in the enchiladas, which was not so good, but I was still very happy with the meal. I wouldn't recommend dining in if you're looking for a quiet eating environment, though - it was pretty noisy in the restaurant between the loud salsa music and the loud thumping (??).“
“came in on a friday afternoon for an early dinner. no wait, BYOB, reasonable prices, and truly unlimited chips/salsa (the chips are freshly fried tho!) that I could honestly get full off of with a good drink imo not as good as some of the mexican food on the other side of the river, but if you're in ucity and crave a solid burrito, this is a cute spot! ended up as $21/pp after tax and tip and we had some leftovers too!“
“I first discovered Juana Tamale when I 1st moved to Philly in 2018 and on the hunt for Christmas tamales.Let's move to this fabulous location. I have had something from every category. And would recommend it all. But that's not why I'm writing this review. I was stuck at work trying to meet a deadline. It was snowing, Freezing. It's 830p and been here since 7am with 5 hours more to make deadline. My fabulous son called to make sure they could still deliver. He ordered me the Soup & Sandwich Special- a rich spicy tomato soup jazzed up with garlic & chipolte and a grilled cheese mulita. Just in case he also ordered the Sopa de Pollo, a rich broth with carrots, onions and chicken in every bite.It warmed my body and soul. Revived I finished just before deadline.Let me tell you tomato soup is a great breakfast food. They go really well with street tacos. Washed down with a Ting. (I'm very cross cultural)If you are looking for authentic Mex, run to Juana Tamale. You'll thank me later.“
“Becky at the bar was great, upbeat and attentive. She knew the menu well enough to make great recommendations.Food was great, drinks (La Flor) were tasty and stong! Ambiance and mysic were on point for happy hr! Totally recommend for a chill bite, solo or with friends!Im coming back for the Elote Dip!“
“The place is really good. Food is good and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We went in around 6 and they had an hour of waiting. We went there and the workers were very sweet and polite. They were also very quick with their service. My friend spilled her water and they cleaned it all up within 2 mins. It was crazy and very impressive! I will recommend this place, especially for their service.“
“A gem that always delivers in south philly! Super amazing tacos and tortas and from that I’d try much more of their menu in the future. They set the standard so I imagine the rest of the food is just as superb. Service here is always really good, servers are very energetic and kind and able to speak two languages, so utmost respect. Their agua frescos are huge and very tasty. I want to try their dessert but their portions are just so generous and perfect to keep me full for hours. 10/10 everytime would bring everyone I know here.“
“Delish food - n of 3 times been so far and every time has been on point. Prices are definitely respectable (except $4 for extra pico) and the servers have always treated us nicely. Definitely recommend for Cantina food in the middle of Philly.“
“Had a chorizo torta without jalapeños. On point, definitely delicious. Was visiting Philly from GA and I gotta say the Mexican food in Philly is so much better. The flavor of my food was unique and super delish. From the chips to the fries to the actual entree. Would come back here again if I’m ever back in Philly. Price was good too for the quality of the food.“
“The food was hot, fresh and had amazing flavor.I had the Fajitas and rice and beans with lettuce. The man who took my order was extremely polite and professional.I will go only here anymore. Best Mexican food I've had in a long while!. The gave me great portions and the suace was fantastic!.My friend had the Veggy Burrito and loved it.Super good.Nice people to.5 stars for sure!.I'm full and usually I'm still hungry but not tonight.Vefy clean and nice place.I can't wait to go back!...Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options.Parking: Parking is easy and plentiful.“
“Food here was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to return! We had the salsa trio, salmon ceviche, CDMX tacos, and the Costilla tacos. Everything was amazing, and we left full. The chips were crispy and all of the salsas were great. I loved the pork belly on my CDMX tacos, and I would definitely recommend. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Service was fast, and I would come back to try some of their drinks. I would definitely recommend!“
“Just moved to Philly and got take our here on our first day (we were craving good mexican after our sad 1.5 year of living in Portland) and we were NOT disappointed. It was soooooo goood. Torta Milanese, Salmon Ceviche, Tacos Arabes... all top notch. Can't wait to have it again!“
“The food was great. I can't say anything more than that 5 stars all around. Question: Is this place still active? The website is not working, and neither is any of the phone numbers, but the Google listing said it's open. As of March 2024“
“love this place!! great food, friendly staff, and lovely interior. i work on south street and i go to this place frequently and i tell everyone i know about it :) both the mexican and italian dishes they serve always hit and are so well seasoned and crafted with care. i highly recommend this place! i also highly recommend the elote and the meatball parm.“
“Absolutely fabulous dining experience. Decorated in a wonder of chic & Mariachi, El Vez delivers on all points: Friendly, knowledgeable staff, bar-made mixed drinks, fresh guacamole, salads, and entrees. (Except the flour tortillas & croutons) the rest of the menu is gluten free. Plant-based options are proudly available.“
“My family and I are visiting from California. Our parents are from Mexico, and we have always had awesome carnitas from Michoacan, Mexico, but we were disappointed in Philadelphia until Emilianos. Wow, this place is so Legit! Absolutely the best Mexican food in Philadelphia! I recommend this spot for authentic Mexican food, especially Carnitas!Parking: Just to busyKid-friendliness: Absolutely“
“The price has increased in 2023.08 and the ingredients have become less. Now all items cost more than $10 but they are still delicious.Early 2023tasty! The price is also reasonable and the boss and waitress are very friendly. The hot sauce is not too spicy and the portions are generous. If you want to save money, you don’t have to go to chipotle and just come here.Burrito is super big for only $8. I had two meals...“
“I ordered 2 chicken bowls, and the amount we pay for the bowls, we should get at least 1 1/2 spoons of meat with our orders. I asked for just a little more chicken and was told an additional $4. The service was great, and I appreciate the only gentlemen greeting me and saying happy Valentine's Day to me.“
