“You know this place is popular when there are people waiting outside the door at 9am right before this place opens. It was my first time here and upon arriving, 2 people were waiting to get in and 3 more trickled in minutes later. A line started to form and people are trying to get the tomato pie. I place an order for the regular tomato pie a few days ago over the phone but when I went to pick it up they didn't have my name. Luckily they had extras so I didn't have to order another. My friends really enjoyed the tomato pie so it's definitely as good as people say. Just be sure to double check the day before if you placed an order with them.“

Not only were they able to accommodate my custom cake request super last minute but they brought the inspiration photo I sent them to life in the form of the most flavorful cake that left all our guests raving and wanting more. “I'm touched by the story behind Yia Yia's Baklava. I went to the store with my boyfriend. We got the 6 original pieces to try. It's nice to have a store dedicated to just selling baklava because it's one of my favorite desserts. The additional flavors are lemon and chocolate hazelnuts. The service was friendly and genuine. The store was spacious and clean. Overall, a good experience. Looking forward to trying their other flavors and maybe run into them at the local farmer's market.“

I recently stopped by and tried the delicious sweet potato & strawberry shortcake cupcakes. I also have tried the Oreo and Turkey Bacon ones, which were good, too. This giant breakfast burrito was mainly filled with eggs and a little bit of refried beans. I left full but not feeling gross, which is a fine line to walk with a breakfast burrito.The lox and bagel was ordered by others at the table and it looked very similar - lots of of greens on the plate but they didn’t skimp on the lox or cream cheese. We all were glad to have picked this spot for our weekend brunch.“

We also tried the French toast crepe, which has an egg incorporated into the batter. Interesting. The espresso is good but the cappuccino is weird; they don't pour the milk through the crema at all, so it's mostly foam on top of a single shot. It can be folded through but I think next time I'd just get an espresso here. I really like that they have reusable cutlery and crockery, and service is brisk even when they're crowded. They also have a bunch of pastries if you're looking to grab and go. No parking lot but free street parking up to two hours. Friendly staff.“

Expect some longer lines around the weekend, but the wait is usually quick (and always worth it). “We orderd a very large quantity of heart shaped soft pretzels to give to out of towners staying in Philadelphia for a wedding. It was easy to place the order, the cost was reasonable, the pretzels were ready for pickup as scheduled (and they even offered advice on how to freeze them to keep them fresh for our guests), and most importantly, they tasted exactly the way Philly soft pretzels are supposed to taste. I worked with Jen to place the order and work on delivery details and she was super responsive and friendly. She worked directly with our venue for delivery and setup, and it was such a seamless experience. She even helped me with a bagel tray order for our wedding party while we were getting ready int he morning.“

“You have to come here. Ambiance - well its no frills and why should it be?! It's an outlet bakery shop. Literally if you want more than that it wouldn't have the discount prices that it does. It's a little hard to find and you have to navigate but if you go there early enough there's a line out the door.Unfortunately for us its not very convenient to get there but if we did we would be going there every day since everything they make is so delicious. and also our waistlines would be showing it...We stumbled across this place since we have been eating at LeBus in East Falls (very often) and Winnies (in Manayunk- that serves LeBus breads) for years and we just wanted to go to the heart of the matter. When we do go - we get pastries and breads. The breads you can get whole and they will slice them for you or you can just slice them yourself when you get home and freeze some. I ordered rolls from here for Thanksgiving 2 years ago (if you're gonna do this - it has to be in advance) and they were the hit of the party.There is a reason why this place is so busy and why they have limited hours with a no frill bake shop. They don't have to do anything because their product speaks for itself.“
“Bagelicious is a hidden KOP gem! We had amazing bagels here and the chocolate chip cookies are homemade and you can taste how different they are from run of the mill cookies. We loved it so much we came back later this week to try more! It’s definitely a small mom and pop shop, but the bagels rival any other in town. Softer than Spread and bigger and tastier than Founding Farmers. Our new favorite bagel place! 10/10“

“I love bagel barn! I wish they were open on Mondays so I could start my week better! I used to be a regular at manhattan bagel till someone recommended bagel barn as they had better food. Boy, they weren’t wrong. Bagel barn does laps around the other bagel places in the area. I highly recommend getting the Wilbur breakfast sandwich and a dozen of bagels to go. They also have homemade cream cheese that is absolutely wonderful! If you’re looking for a fantastic breakfast bagel place, you need to try bagel barn!“
