“It is hard to articulate the artistry that went into the creation of my very special birthday cake but the Night Kitchen Bakery did it. I had a special birthday this year and some great friends were flying in to help me celebrate. I had traveled with these friends and had many wild experiences, one of which was a very specific picture this fantastic bakery not only replicated flawlessly but made it oh so much better. Yes the cake photo attached is a cake - a DELICIOUS mocha cake that was as good as the artistry was on the outside. If you want a delicious cake, they're the place to go to. There are also many types of pastries and bagels. Many of the items are vegan. I really like them. The pastries are delicious. Everything and the salt+rosemary bagels taste a little salty to me.“

“Gina makes the BEST rosemary cheddar scones you will ever find! All the treats in the shop are so tasty and baked with love, but the scones are outstanding! Gina and her staff are so sweet and friendly, that the “Sweets” of their Sweets on Darby name refers as much to the people as it does to the delightful pastries she bakes. “You know this place is popular when there are people waiting outside the door at 9am right before this place opens. It was my first time here and upon arriving, 2 people were waiting to get in and 3 more trickled in minutes later. A line started to form and people are trying to get the tomato pie. I place an order for the regular tomato pie a few days ago over the phone but when I went to pick it up they didn't have my name. Luckily they had extras so I didn't have to order another. My friends really enjoyed the tomato pie so it's definitely as good as people say. Just be sure to double check the day before if you placed an order with them.“

“SO Good!! Lost Bread is a bakery and mill in Philadelphia. I found their table at the entrance to the Schuylkill River Park. The table is unassuming, yet filled with so much. They had Table Bread, Whole Grain Croissant, Deli Rye, Spelt Handpies, Milk Buns, Oat Bar, and Cranberry Bran Muffins. I opted for the Pretzel Shortbread Crisps, which are so yummy. They have lasted all week and I already can't wait for the next batch!“

“Ursa bread is fantastic. Since the pandemic when we were incredibly lucky to have this bread delivered to our door to now it has been consistently wonderful bread baked with love. I go to the farmers markets specifically for this bread. Philadelphia has a number of great new small bakeries but Ursa is at the top!“

On the day we went there was only one staff for a very busy and full cafe. I hope the owners pay their people well and wish they had a plan for a sub to help out. Our barista was working very hard.“

The service was excellent and the food was very good. I ordered the broccoli quiche with turkey bacon on the side. That quiche is like none I have ever tasted, flaky crust and the filling reminded me of soufflé but much taster. I also brought 2 cups cakes carrot and coconut to go. I’m sure they are just as good. I can’t wait to go back because I hear there is a different quiche each week. This is my new breakfast place for sure.“

“Great, old time ice cream place. This would be the perfect spot to visit after a baseball game!I took my kids for an ice cream on a lazy Sunday afternoon this summer. The place was packed! However, the line moved fast.My younger son ordered the mint chocolate chip ice cream and my older son tried the moose tracks. (I took a taste of both)The mint chocolate chip was so delicious, it reminded me of ice cream I got from a little candy shop up in Northern Wisconsin when I was a kid. My older son said that their moose tracks was the best he's ever had.We will definitely go back!Only wish they had some gluten free cones or cookies.“

“i love yu Ms Wendy , i ran to this store after seeing reviews on tik tok and i was not disappointed.. i ordered pepper steak rice cabbage and a side of yams ,, yu can literally taste the generations of love in the food . the meat is tender the yams tasted like i was on the island and the cabbage was refreshing,, the food will put yu in a coma i love this place because it has a different taste than all the other caribbean restaurants that all taste the same .. i will be back shortly definitely 10/10 i respect a black woman making it happen but more importantly yu can taste and feel the love ,, definitely a hidden gem- yur niece“

This store is clean, the staff provide quick service, and of course, the cookies are absolutely delectable.So far, I have tried the blueberry muffin, chocolate chip, wedding cake, brownie sundae, and Kentucky butter cake. “I went three times in the week they have been open. The coffee is delicious and the baked goods are phenomenal. I love that their baked goods are traditional options but they also have things I’ve never seen or tried before. The honeydew buttercream pastry is my new favorite.“

We also tried the French toast crepe, which has an egg incorporated into the batter. Interesting. The espresso is good but the cappuccino is weird; they don't pour the milk through the crema at all, so it's mostly foam on top of a single shot. It can be folded through but I think next time I'd just get an espresso here. I really like that they have reusable cutlery and crockery, and service is brisk even when they're crowded. They also have a bunch of pastries if you're looking to grab and go. No parking lot but free street parking up to two hours. Friendly staff.“

“First time trying this place out. Must pickup from the window as the entrance is closed off. and eating it seems homemade. The heart cookies were sweet but just missing that certain someone to share them with. One of the macaroons was off kilter appearance wise but food wise- I mean it's TooGoodToGo. The taste is fine. Nothing like when Miel existed or the one off of Race St. if it is still there, probably French exquisite in those places. Staff is friendly. The custard like dessert was flavorful and I have no idea what this mash was besides edible and delicious! A local shop a tourist probably won't hit unless they are using TooGoodToGo or reading this review by chance, then maybe.“

“I LOVE and 100% recommend The Famous 4th Street Cookie Company! Someone had their cookies mailed to me as a sympathy gift back in 2021. Since then, I myself have sent them to so many family and friends. Here are my top reasons for loving this company: 1. Their chocolate chip cookies are seriously so amazing! (and I am very particular about my chocolate chip cookies), 2. Their service is amazing! They respond to emails and phone messages really quickly and do what they can to help, 3. They are military friendly - whenever I need to ship to my nephew's military base in Alaska (which is very hard to get companies to deliver to by the way), they always help me out, get the shipping done quickly, and are super helpful. When my nephew gets the cookies in Alaska, they are always amazing. This is a great company that I will continue to use to send friends and family delicious gifts.“
