“Today my daughter and I enjoyed the most delicious lunch at One 13 Social in downtown Carlisle. Small plates are elegant and perfect for lunch. Mine was Spoonbread Shrimp, extraordinarily creative flavors : salty olive tapanade, savory grilled shrimp, and sweet cornbread with honey butter. New to their terrific menu, hope it stays!! I tip my hat to the chef.”

My steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare. The Brussel sprouts are my favorite veggie. Kudos to this establishment and the owners and their wonderful staff. Love you all.”

The service is great, food is fresh and the prices are reasonable. We want one in our neck of the woods: Jefferson Hills, Pa. Menu can't be beat!”

“My husband and I visited today with our two young children. We sat down when our 3 year old started having a complete meltdown. I took him outside but he could not be calmed. The waitor Randy was so kind and understanding. All of the staff were. They boxed all of our food up, even the drinks and bread, and quickly got our bill taken care of for us. It was so nice to have such understanding and kind people help us out. The food was also amazing when we finally got to eat it. We will definitely be back on a much calmer day.”

“Ordered take out for 4 adults on Saturday evening. First time we ordered food from this establishment but we checked other reviews and decided to give it a try. . Excellent. We ordered a couple of some evening specials: 1/2 Rack of ribs with chicken and 2 sides; another night special, pork and kraut with mashed as side. I might add if those mashed were not home made, I want the name of them--delicious, others ordered a cheesesteak sub. and the roll was absolutely delicious., with onions and peppers, fries and also another of mozz sticks with marinara, plain cheeseburger and fries. Everything was delicious and order perfect and they said only 15-20 time for pick up. The only thing that could have been better is if the pork and kraut meal and the rib & chicken meal came with dinner rolls or garlic bread. But no biggie. Would highly recommend and the 4 adults who ordered for this meal have all said will definitely go back. Great Job Mays!!!”

Craving some eggs and potatoes to kick off the day, I was thrilled to find a spot that mixes it all together in a skillet—making it even more satisfying to dig into. The service was wonderful, and the food was even better. We arrived a little after 8 a.m., and by the time we left, it was clear why there was a line out the door. An awesome stop to start your day or recover from the night before!”

The young wait staff were attentive and engaging.
Salad is delicious, with the perfect amount of dressing. "Bunt Ends" were flavorful.
The delicious "Cuban" sandwich was a hot presentation of spicy meats on a toasted baguette.
Enjoyed a luscious dry-hopped local beer on tap.
Arrived at eight when the later guests filled the place, and enjoyed a meal while people -watching.

Parking: At 8pm on Friday several street spaced were available within the block.”

“She was able to accommodate three different types of gluten free cupcakes for a birthday party. And all different types were delicious!!!!! People were raving about them. And you could never have been able to tell that they were gluten free!! Chocolate with peanut butter icing, carrot cake with cream cheese icing, and red velvet with cream cheese icing. All amazing and all made from scratch. Thanks again!”

“Wife and I went to John's Hideaway Restaurant for the first time on Saturday. I ordered the chipped beef over toast with hashbrowns. I have to say, it was the best darn chipped beef breakfast I ever had. It tastes like homemade, was nice and creamy, didn't need any extra seasoning. Well done!”

“This place has great pizza and huge amazing salads. We were driving across the state and stopped to go to the gym after our workout we were very hungry and because I avoid gluten, we needed to find somewhere. The Pizza Grille was a surprising gem. The pizza flavors are all so interesting. We took home so much pizza but it was worth it. I would come back if we come through this way again.

Usually this translates to no bread or limited gluten free options. However, because this baker uses the Long Rise Sourdough technique, my daughter Penelope was able to enjoy a delicious Sourdough bread this weekend! We will order again and again! “It took a bit of effort to keep staff and cooks focused and still ended up with the order being slightly wrong. Still, it was a good meal.

It's a little loud and spacious so hearing your company is a challenge.

Food is a little pricey for what your getting, but no more than anywhere else.

My last point is that the menu posted on google maps did not match their fare. Older menus pollute the Internet. They should put some effort in to keeping their image current.”

“I had the Angel roll and my mom had the Golden Dragon roll. Both were delicious. Probably some of the best sushi I had in this area. I'd definitely come back here again! Also, they’re open on Columbus Day which came in handy.”

Joe is the best bartender in Carlisle.... He only has respect and compassion for everyone by at the gas ever served. The patrons on the establishment come back religiously for a reason. Not sure what high horse you fell off of. But my recommendation is to stand up, sober up and dust yourself off. I'm sure BBQ Tavern has a stool for you.”

“I've been here twice and love the place. It's a smoking bar so just know that going in and if you don't like that go somewhere else. The food is great and the drinks are cheap! You can go there with $20 and eat and drink for a while. I'm not a super chatty guy but I sat at the bar and made some friends anyway because everyone there is super nice and love to make you feel at home.
There's pool tables, live music, and touch tones music. Love this place!”

“Stopped in Sunday after church. Parking lot was full but available seating inside. Really like the bright, open atmosphere and all the windows. Orders taken and food arrived promptly. The writer had the western omelet with home fries and toast. All of us were happy with our meals. We will be returning!”

“My husband and I celebrated our 11th anniversary here and it did not disappoint. The food was AMAZING! The staff did a great job helping and educating us on different dishes. The portions were large. I couldn’t believe how low our bill was for the amount of FRESH food we had. They weren’t very busy with dine-in customers but there was a steady flow of take out customers. I would definitely recommend dining in to get the full experience. I should also add that it was very clean.”

“Definitely my new favorite place to get sushi! The sushi was delicious and the service was so great! Our food came very quickly and the server was very attentive and polite. It was our first time there and she explained the menu very patiently to us. As we came in and left, all the staff greeted us and you don’t get that experience very often in most restaurants. The restaurant was also very clean. All the sushi rolls we ordered were delicious and the mango mochi was a great dessert to finish with. Highly recommend it to anyone that loves good sushi and good service!”

The Mozzarella Sticks (4 ea.) are a fave of my daughter's. They disappeared quickly. Thought we'd try the Potato Cakes (3 ea.) & they were as delicious as expected. Definitely recommend!”

Their rice and chow mein were fresh and lighter than most places. Loved the orange chicken, the boneless spare ribs, kung pao, the rangoons were stuffed... Everything was delicious.”

“We have been going to this location since they opened up. It has gone downhill over the years with the employees. Never go through the drive thru it will take forever. Went the other night and it took 15 minutes to get 3 arctic swirls and a mix cup. The girl screwed up the order and gave me attitude when I said it should of been cookie dough not whatever she made. When she put in on the counter for my daughter to pick up it had a huge hole in the center of nothing. Not sure where the custard n cookie dough went. Plus her shorts were a little short that her “cheeks” were hanging out the back when filling up the machine. The only reason we keep coming back is because of the product not the customer service. Maybe management should spend some time at this location and get these kids trained to be able to multi task instead of doing 1 thing at a time. And less talking until the customer are serviced.”

“Dietary restrictions: The menu is marked gluten sensitive but for someone with celiac it needs further explanation. It said the fries are gs but when asked if chicken is fried in same oil the answer was yes. That is not gluten sensitive or gluten free. The manager Did come to our table explained about using their menu online and getting allergy items. However we already placed our order.”

“I visited this pizza bolis because the Mechanicsburg location reportedly experienced a fire and closed down. Their pizza was satisfactory, although a bit oily. They do have a restroom, but it's accessed through the kitchen; I'm unsure about their policy on restroom access for customers.”
