“We stopped in on a Sunday early evening for live music and had a couple drinks, no food. The building is historic which makes this a really cool spot. There was a banquet room and bar on the second floor with a wraparound balcony that was accessible. The upstairs was closed for service at the time we visited. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. The bartender was personable and attentive. They did just also open a coffee shop with limited hours and I will be back to check that out. Nice stop for beverage or quick bite to eat if you are hiking Hawk Rock or the AT and a place to sleep if you need.“
“Really good food. Burgers, wings and such.Wings were outstanding. Nice atmosphere, pool table, good music, friendly staff. Only drawback is, they allow smoking inside. Clothes wreaked of cigs the next morning. But don't let that stop you from going. Very cool place.“
“I visited here on a Tuesday at 6pm for a work-related and social gathering. The service and food were quite good, yet even on a weekday and being upstairs, the decibel level was rather high dye to it also being a bar. The menu selection was more than adequate and prices reasonable. Street parking can be a challenge, however I found a safe spot about one block away, and parking was free after 5pm on weekdays. The restroom was clean, and I find this important in that if management doesn't prioritize bathrooms, they may not value kitchen cleanliness either, but maybe that's just me. I give it a 4 star and not a 5 due to noise“
“Stopped in to grab a casual dinner. It’s reminiscent of an Irish pub with dining. They even have a little fireplace in the back- it may be electric but still a nice touch. My server Ari was so sweet and attentive. She took great care of me. It’s customer service like this that makes me come back and tell others. I ordered the Cesar salad with grilled chicken. It was a large portion and tasted great. She even sold me to bring some house made berry cheesecake with me for later tonight. Pricing was reasonable, service was great, and the vibe was great. What’s not to like?“
“First timer and everything was Awesome, started with a sangria...so yummy. Then ordered the French onion soup, lots of onions, broth and cheese just the way i like it. “Great little "hole in the wall" pub. Absolutely AMAZING roast beef au ju. Tender and juicy, nice crusty sub roll with your favorite cheese. I add horseradish or the horseradish "Tiger" sauce. Been to the Grotto several times, and honestly haven't ordered anything else because the roast beef is just that good! Great and friendly service too. Go to the Grotto Pub, get the roast beef, have a Guinness to go with it, you will not be disappointed, guaranteed!“
“Great place for a few beers! The service was outstanding and the food was delicious!Kid-friendliness: The kids menu had a lot of different options on it, no problem finding something for even the pickiest eater. A whole menu full of craft sodas too!“
“Was looking for a place to have a couple drinks and shoot some pool when we stumbled along this lil joint. Never heard of it before but it's nice and hidden away by the river. The crowd had some good music playing on TouchTunes for us to vibe to. We were definitely the only people there under the age of 35 but it's all in good fun. Pool table and darts were in a nice area off to the side. Great way to spend a Tuesday night :)“
“Mad Moose is a wonderful neighborhood tavern where they serve great pub fare-with Pool Tables-Dart Games-Arcade Games-Golf Games. Menu has a variety of delicious starters, salads, brick oven pizzas, hand heads, entrees and a couple of desserts. Servers Sara & Amanda take very good care of you-bringing Drinks from the bar - Variety of beer and liquor. Do go relax and enjoy. This crew at the Mad Moose run a smooth and comfortable Tavern.“
“The drinks are $1 $2 and $3. The shots are reasonable pricing. Sometimes the crowd is heavy. All I try to do is encourage double shots if it $1 shots your drinking. You have a group of 6 ppl come in wanting many $1 single shots when all I do is try to help you out by getting doubles. Seems like you can't PLEASE everybody.“
“We had been to Ad Lib before and couldn't wait to go back. We love the food, atmosphere, and service here. They do a great job making creative, delicious dishes. We love their small plate appetizers. We usually get 1-2 appetizers in other places, but here, we get 5 or 6 because they're so good. We even ordered a 2nd serving of their brussels sprouts to go home with us. We've tried a few small plates, but our favorites are the Pretzel Monkey Bread, Cauliflower, Brussels Sprouts, and the Roasted Spaghetti Squash with Ricotta. Then the dinner choices come. They have amazing choices. I wanted to try something new, but I Loved the Duck Confit the last time, and I had to get it again. My husband loved the Mac and Cheese. We're 2 for 2 on this place. The service is impeccable. Our server, Andrew, from the last time we were there, remembered us and stopped by the table to say Hi. This time, we had April as our server as she was Amazing as well. Can't wait to go back again!“
“The Pub is a great place to dine & wine.I don't go there as much as I did like 5 years ago , but I occasionally stop by to pick up a six pack & food. They get karaoke from time to time , which brings in the clientele , and I would always play the jukebox while patronizing their establishment. They are an awesome bunch to be around , as I always felt welcome. Terrific food...can get pricey , but that is most places these days.If ever in the area , stop in and order something.5 stars all the way.Great Atmosphere.“
