The owner came out and said she didn’t see any then said it’s supposed to be like that. Then treated us like we were trying to skip out on paying. She took...read full review
I wanted to like this place. I really did. The waitress was amazing. She was prompt and courteous (albeit overworked). The food was an entirely different story. I ordered shepherd’s pie. It tasted like an old boot and a lady named Ethel had a love child.

Capitol Diner is a cozy spot serving a wide variety of comfort foods at a great value. The menu features a large variety of options like the Gyro, chicken Philly, steak and eggs, and the hot roast beef sandwich. The diner also offers a fantastic selection, including the Florentine Benedict. The homemade soups, homemade sides, stuffing with gravy, and mashed potatoes with gravy are delectable. The onion rings are a standout, and the bakery selection impresses with treats like Oreo Cheese Cake, Éclairs, and lemon meringue pie. The service is superb and fabulous, with friendly, attentive, and fun staff in a clean, retro-themed environment with an awesome diner vibe. While the diner is usually crowded around lunchtime, making it not the quietest place to eat, parking is generally available. Conveniently located near hotels and highways, Capitol Diner is a great stop for travelers and locals on a road trip, especially for those running errands in the area.
