“We were here on Easter for lunch with family. This was our first visit to Brittingham's. Our hostess and waitress were pleasant, professional and very attentive. Our adult beverages were great as well as our food which was delicious! Looking forward to returning in the near future!“

“The Love. Umm, yes please. The vibe. The food. The staff. All great.I went for a solo dinner while in town for a conference. I initially wanted to get the fried chicken with grits and collards but my Server mentioned the special for the night, the ribeye with macaroni & cheese and said he’d go with the ribeye. So I did! It was a double the price but I was out of town and why not treat myself to a steak! It did not disappoint, so so good. Unfortunately I had a bit of a headache so I didn’t have a cocktail but the iced tea was good. ? I live in Atlanta, so hopefully I’ll be back soon enough to try out a drink. I had a lovely meal and it was pretty busy Sunday night. I guess it’s a popular spot.“

“Everything looked so great on the menu. It was hard to choose! We tried something from all of the sections on the menus. The oysters with grapefruit mignonette was delicious! The oysters were shucked and cleaned beautifully. The quail was excellent. We also ordered the pasta and duck. Both were delicious! We capped off the meal with the chocolate torte which had a bit of honeycomb cookie. The servers and food runners were excellent. Our food runner in particular was very enthusiastic about our dishes. Also loved that there were Zero-Proof beverage options! The menu is a bit pricey, but we thought it was worth it. I would happily go back and try more dishes.“

“Middle Child Clubhouse isn't just a breakfast/brunch spot; it's a time machine set to the best moments of your childhood, but with way better food. Walking in, you're greeted not just by super friendly faces but by an atmosphere that's as nostalgic as finding your old comic book collection in the attic. Let's dive into the culinary comic strip, shall we? First up, the Pastrami, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich - it's basically the superhero of breakfast sandwiches, having been featured on Good Morning America for "Best Breakfast in America." Fluffy eggs, melty cooper sharp American cheese, and house-smoked pastrami on rye--this sandwich doesn't just walk the walk; it struts. Next is The McCluckin' which steps up like the cool kid on the block, with a crispy chicken patty dressed in mayo, pickles, and shredded lettuce, all jazzed up with preserved lemon vin on a brioche bun that's softer than your favorite childhood pillow. Then there's the Shopsin Club, a solid ensemble of house turkey, cranberry miso mayo, sweet pickles, and more, all nestled within a ciabatta that's sturdy enough for the job. While it didn't steal the spotlight for me this time around, it played its part with a reliable performance that deserves a nod. As for the supporting cast strong enough to steal the show, it started with the "Latka'd" Hash Brown with Dill Cream. It's like Hanukkah morning and Saturday morning cartoons rolled into one crispy, creamy delight. We also shared "Olivia's Big Pancake". This isn't just a pancake; it's a fluffy, malted buttermilk cloud, drizzled with honey-butter and fresh citrus, making every bite a nostalgia trip to the days when breakfast was the highlight of your day. Overall, Middle Child Clubhouse delivers a brunch experience that's as comforting as finding your old baseball mitt, but with flavors so grown-up, you'll need to check your ID. Kudos to this spot for turning the most important meal of the day into one of the most memorable where every bite is a throwback and every visit feels like coming home.“

“I enjoyed dining at Her Place, I definitely felt like I was having a meal in someone's home. The restaurant is tiny and every table has a view of the kitchen. I dined by myself so I was placed at one of the two window seats. My back was toward the kitchen and I had to turn around each time the chef was describing the dishes. The menu wasn't something I would have normally chosen for myself, it was very seafood focused but it was all around tasty. The main dish was a quail and morels. My favorites of the night were the chicken liver pate with radishes and homemade Ritz cracker. They really did taste like a Ritz but much elevated. My other favorite of the night was the dessert: the rhubarb, cream cheese semi freddo, and meringue was to absolutely die for. You could really taste the cream cheese. Also notable was the sauce Americaine in the quenelle/lobster dish, I wanted to scoop it up and lick the plate. I see people complaining how it wasn't enough food since you had to share, I didn't have this problem, as I was solo and was able to eat full plates of everything. I enjoyed the final touches at the end, giving out cookies and a bag of Chex Mix. Bravo. I'd maybe come back if I were to travel to Philadelphia again. $120 after tax and tip.“

“Amazing little bar with a great beer selection and excellent bar food. The wings were among the best I’ve ever had (and I’m from Alberta - we take wings seriously!) knowledgeable server and very friendly. They put a lot of care into the food and drink of this bar and it shows.“

“A bit loud but great food and so many choices! I would say they offer a good price for the quality. The pizza was top notch - fresh ingredients and well made, as were the polish pierogi, much lighter and more enjoyable than what I’ve had elsewhere. Definitely make a reservation. And there’s no signage outside so make note of the street address so you can find the right door (only the number outside). Have a blast there!Vegetarian options: Yes, many!“

“Our server, Liam was exceptional. The young lady receptionist and young gentleman who greeted us were most kind and accommodating. Felt like we belonged. Food was excellent and a good variety. Seems going out to eat nowadays is getting more and more expensive. And comparing to other restaurant pricing... It was fair for $ value. We will return.“

“My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner. Excellent music playing, including Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Townes van Zandt and beautiful, cozy atmosphere. Began with the venison scrapple (to die for), then to the cheese board (delicious goat cheese), pierogies (incredibly delicate). Then to the venison which was cooked to perfection along with the various sides. Dessert was a cheesecake tart and Elwood tea, very tasty and rich cheesecake. The 2 cookies at the 2nd were also delicious. I don't know if I ever had a better time at a restaurant, but this is easily top 5 meals I've had in years.“

“This brewery is located at 5th street and Spring Garden street. It has a varied menu and I tried the hummus platter which was rich and smooth. Very fresh vegetables and warm pita triangles. A love stout vanilla beer which was smooth n creamy. My friend had an American burger with fries "very juicy" she like the fries too. My other friend had pork belly on bao buns steamed he said it was okay but he isn't pleased with most things unless his Mom makes it. Service was fantastic!! We ate outside in an enclosed area with ceiling heaters. Quieter. Inside there is a rectangular bar and a huge room filled with Highwood and picnic tables with TVs all around. A great place to meet friends and hangout to watch sports. There beers are excellent.“

“Once again, another wonderful meal! I ordered the Brussels sprout salad which I had not tried before. Glad I did! Lovely mix of crunchy sprouts, cranberries, walnuts, apple& Gorgonzola with dressing that complimented all of the flavors. Also had the salmon appetizer which is reliably excellent. Main courses of doradd & short rib delicious. I loved the chocolate cake & the “taste” of crème brûlée & ice cream are a great way to try several desserts. Veronica was lovely & helpful. Can't say enough nice things about Blackfish.“

“Came here for a business dinner. It was really an amazing experience. This place is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. It's a tapas style tasting menu so they just bring you out like a dozen different dishes. The portions were perfect and everything was cooked to perfection. The ambiance is really nice and although the space is small it's not loud at all. I thought the waiter was also very nice professional and knowledgeable. This is definitely a high end place that is worth a visit. This may be one of the best restaurants in Philly.“

“This space is breathtaking. From the first few steps in, you know it’s going to be a good food experience. Meticulous detail on decor and the dishes. “Valley Green is a great place for a special dinner — or just a night out somewhere different. The atmosphere is lovely. If the weather's nice enough, sit outside on the porch. Did and service are very good, and there is something for almost every price range. To top it all off, they make it clear which dishes are (or can be made) for those who are gluten-sensitive. All around, a great place for dinner!“

“Went last week and had an amazing experience especially the assistance we received from our waitress and the pastry chef. I had the one of the special entrees of the day- duck breast and since I’m not drinking, their lavender lemonade was both cute and tasty. A little tart, but very lemonadey. My husband got a ton a stuff that I don’t remember, but he enjoyed every drink, appetizer ( it was a tuna bonbon special) and entree. I’ve driven past this place for years, so it was great to finally pop in. Added bonus, located in northwest Philly which is such an amazing part of the city.“

“The food was delicious, albeit pricy, and was neatly complemented by the DJ set as part of their spring happy hour celebrations. “Vernick Food & Drink- Philadelphia, Pa. 5 Stars NUMBER 1 ALL USA ALL-TIME!! As we drive north on Christmas Eve I felt a stop in the City of Brotherly Love was appropriate. It was not easy to reserve a fine dining adventure. Vernick could get us in at 11:00pm. I took it because I know how highly regarded this locale is. As we were driving I called and asked if there had been any cancellations. Lucky for me there was. 6:30pm. With a nine year old in tow it was much better. So we get to the restaurant and it's very small but packed to the rafters with people. This to me is always a good sign. All of the tables were very close together. However, being in an establishment like this you never have to worry. Everyone was dressed up and professional. They only downside to this review is it was too dark inside for me to snap pics of the food. I took them but they did not come out well. On to the substance of the experience. The drink menu is easily the coolest array of cocktails I have ever experienced. I started with the House Old Fashioned. A perfect balance of flavors between the bourbon, the butters and the Demerara sugar. My second drink was the Deshler a fine combination of top shelf rye whiskey, dubonnet and dry curaçao. If we were staying in town a few days I would have had more. As I perused the menu I began to wonder why restaurants with a diverse menu like Vernicks do not exist in my neck of the woods. Anyway, I started with fluke served sashimi style in a light piquant broth. The fluke was so fresh it was still moving on my plate. This was my first foray with fluke and it was way worth it. The adventure continued with veal sweetbreads. This organ was so juicy and tender. The sauce was decadent and smooth. I wrapped up with the venison. I have consumed venison over 20 times in my life. Every single time I always got a gamey note at the end. The Vernick venison was sans that note. How they did it I do not know. My daughter who is finicky tried it and thought it was filet mignon. After finishing the meal, we went to exit and the hostess was handing out packs of fresh baked chocolate fudge cookies. Thoroughly amazing. Big Boy rates this number 1 in the country.“

“One of the best new restaurants in Philly, and it’s BYO! Delicious forward-thinking dishes & excellent service in a quaint Philly row home. Menu is a fixed price and changes often. Included in the price is an appetizer, entree, and dessert.I have been at least 5 times since moving to this neighborhood. I have yet to have any dish that was not excellent. The menu is always creative, the dishes colorful, and service friendly. Cannot recommend enough!“

“Wonderful flavors and menu!!! My new favorite restaurant. They are halal and offer meals deals for those of us on a budget. The staff were welcoming and very helpful with choosing a meal. The baklava is probably the BEST I have ever had. The restaurant and restroom was super clean and free from clutter. I think my favorite part besides the food and how quick the staff worked was the many different cultures of people coming to pick up food or dine-in. The samosas were delicious and flaky with a nice green, cilantro-y sauce. The pita was fresh and went nicely with the hummus and garlic sauce. I was recommended to try the pineapple Barbican malt drink (non-alcoholic) which was sooo tasty and not overly sweet. The mango lassi was a bit sour, but I think that's because they don't add a ton of sweetener.“

“I'm a huge fan of Sweet Amalia's, so when we were in the city looking for somewhere to eat I knew I had to check this place out! I starred off with an amazing drink and of course OYSTERS! Both of which were fantastic and a great start. I had the octopus lyonnaise for my meal and then the buttermilk panna cotta for dessert. We sat at the kitchen bar, which was really cool to watch the organized chaos of all of the hard work that goes into each plate. And our server was phenomenal. 5 stars! And already can't wait to go back!“

“The food and service were great as always, but this was the first time we were in the back room. The noise level there was a little bit too much for us . We will be back as this is one of the most consistently good places on the mainline for us. We'll just request not to be in that back room.“

“We went around the happy hour time. 4-6 pm and you have to be seated at the bar for the happy hour prices. The service was good, attentive staff. The food was good to my surprise. The crispy cauliflower and mushroom pita pizza are a must-try. The Thai chili wings and Buffalo wings were deliciously sauced, along with my margarita. The Smash burger is a must-try too. It was a cool laid-back happy hour spot. I will be back to try the rest of the menu.“

“Food was tasty and a good value. Staff were very nice. Looks can be deceiving when looking at the restaurant from the outside. It looks like the building used to be an old American dinner that’s a little beat up but once you enter you will be greeted by a clean restaurant with clothed tables and chairs. However you can still see some of the old diner inside so it conflicts with the Korean accents. Obviously not a deal breaker but I hope they invest for a modern remodel.“

“Had dinner at Bar Sera for the first time in 2023-06-16 for a 7pm reservation. We got seated right away, not waiting at all. All our drinks and food came out on time and was absolutely delicious. We had the best server named Rachel. She had many tables but still was amazing, very attentive and would engage in conversation with us as. She made the dining experience so much better than any restaurant I’ve been to in a while. The food overall was amazing. I highly recommend this place. “LOVED my wet breakfast burrito. It was really really good and the spicy sauce on top is *chef’s kiss*. Just a little heat in a well composed burrito. And big! If I wanted to stuff myself, I would have finished it, but ended up just eating half. The server was the bartender and couldn’t attend to us as she was really doing two jobs (prepping all the drinks and trying to keep our coffees full). But the food was so good that it didn’t bother us much. The outside patio is also so relaxing. Perfect on a nice day.“

“McMenimin's is a terrific, very popular neighborhood bar/restaurant. It can be noisy, but if you sit in the back room, the noise is not too bad. We were there on a weeknight (Tuesday), and yet every table was filled by 7 o'clock. The food is better than one would expect for this kind of place. The fish and chips, chef's salad with portobello mushrooms and plant-based "cheeseburger" were all excellent. And portions were huge. The server was very pleasant. The reasons why this is 4 stars and not 5: No cocktail list at all and just a few not-so-great wines by the glass. And the entrees were served way before we were finished with the appetizers. They must have thought we had to catch a train. If you don't mind being rushed like crazy, then you might give McMenamin's 5 stars.“

“Sunshiney service to match the sunshiney food. What a delightful way to start a day, first ones in the door, hot, flavorful coffee offered to us within seconds. We went with the lemon ricotta pancakes (bright, tender) the Huevos Rancheros (smoky stick to your ribs flavor profile) and an egg Philly cheesesteak on fleshy pretzel roll. “This is a fantastic brunch spot. Although they don't take reservations, we only had to wait a few minutes for a table to be arranged and cleaned. I ordered the crab Benedict, which featured perfectly poached eggs. The bread, thicker than a traditional English muffin, complemented the dish well. It was served with standard potatoes. The highlight was the Butter Pecan pancake with caramelized banana—possibly the best pancake I've ever had, though crispy edges would have made it even better. I also ordered orange juice, which was good but less impressive due to the pulp. Overall, I highly recommend this place for brunch and am looking forward to returning.“

“Went here for the first time last night. Nice atmosphere and the service was good. My Mom and I split the Caesar salad. The dressing was good, but the lettuce was too bitter. We also split the caramelized cauliflower in curry sauce and it was delicious. Finally, for our entree we both had pasta, I ate their special which was a shell pasta in Alfredo sauce with peas and mushrooms and topped with shrimp. My Mom ate rigatoni in bolognese. She thought it was delicious too. Hopefully I can come and visit year around again.“

“My husband and I were visiting the area and found the Gypsy Saloon through Yelp. Thank you to all the reviewers who suggested this great find. I was a little concerned, based on a few reviews that mentioned they were rushed, but we had no issues at all. We were seated immediately (it was cold and rainy at about 6pm so I am guessing that was in our favor) and felt welcomed throughout the entire visit. Husband had the gnocchi, which he polished off and I had the halibut special which was just fantastic. It was so nice to find a place with great food and atmosphere and away from all the mall chain options. Looking forward to going back to the Gypsy Saloon when we return to the area. “A beautiful restaurant with many menu choices. We reserved a table for 10 for our luncheon and were given a private glass enclosed room. I and several others ordered the avocado BLT which came with a small side salad. It was made fresh and was absolutely delicious. “We were very excited to try this spot and finally made it on a Saturday to celebrate our anniversary, which I noted when I made the reservation. Overall our experience was good, but not as good as we had hoped. The vibe and decor is absolutely gorgeous (although we do recommend that they dim the picture lights over the art, as it was very bright and reflective). We had the 4 course chef’s menu and every single dish was really beautiful - this was one of the standout elements, as all the plates looked like art themselves. The flavors were not bad but some of the dishes were on the bland side, while others were quite delicious. We started with the hamachi crudo and endive salad - both were okay. Then the crab bisque and charred octopus - the bisque was the winner. For mains we ordered the lamb loin and sea bass. The lamb dish came out first but we waited about 5 minutes for the bass to come, and it seemed as though the lamb was waiting in the kitchen for a while because it was mostly room temperature by the time I started to eat it. The flavors were good but mild. The seabass was delicious. Also really enjoyed the love cake for dessert. So, overall, a 4-course menu for $70 is a great price compared to the individually-priced dishes. While not every dish was amazing, the meal had some high notes and I really appreciated how beautiful they were. I was a little let down by parts of the meal and disappointed they didn’t acknowledge our anniversary, but overall I think this place was worth the visit and I will likely go back to try it again and explore some of the other dishes.“

“Vegan vegan vegan. With only one review on here using the word, it's time to draw attention. There are vegan options here. The veggie burger, vegetable wrap, and red pepper hummus with pita are all vegan. Yay! If you're into meat, you've got loads of options. Food spans a cross between gastro pub and dive bar (read: soups, chili, wings, steak tip sandwiches; quesadilla, nachos, and a variety of sandwiches.) Prices are reasonable and sandwiches come with fries or salad. The beer list is pretty long for a neighborhood watering hole. I snagged a pint of a great black lager, and also tried the Fiddlehead white which was nice too. There were about eight brews on draft and double that number in cans and bottles, plus ciders. Sitting under a tree trapped up in fairy lights on the outdoor patio was quite nice. Indoors is dark wood and a long bar and TV screens. Good place for sports fans or biergarten lunchers. Friendly service too. G'ahead, give it a try.“

“Stopped here for dinner tonight and enjoyed it! The hot roast beef was very tasty, and so was the rice pudding! My husband and I split an order of chili cheese fries, which were okay. The atmosphere was a little lacking- the place felt old and a little run-down, and everything was served on small plastic plates, which was a little cheesy. That being said, id still go back if I was really craving a roast beef sandwich!“
