“I lived in South Philly for 27 years and spent my teen year summers from 12-19 in North Wildwood. I know a great pizza and cheesesteak from mediocre. Until I went to Femi’s, the best cheesesteaks I ever had were from Russo’s in North Wildwood. The closest I’ve ever come for cheesesteaks is Femi’s in Lester. Their steaks, especially their pizza steaks are fantastic. Every pizza and Stromboli I’ve ever ordered are great too! Can’t find anything better in South Philly.”

“I've been here a few times, it's a fun place to bring people because of the whole speakeasy vibe. They don't take reservations so it's hit or miss if you can actually get in. Drinks are hit or miss for me too. Over time I've done drinks from the menu and the bartenders choice. I know it sounds silly but I really dislike the ice they use! It's like ice chips which cheapens the drinks, which seems to go against the suave swanky vibe. I got the pickle mule this time though and really liked it.”

I initially wanted to get the fried chicken with grits and collards but my Server mentioned the special for the night, the ribeye with macaroni & cheese and said he’d go with the ribeye. So I did! It was a double the price but I was out of town and why not treat myself to a steak! It did not disappoint, so so good. Unfortunately I had a bit of a headache so I didn’t have a cocktail but the iced tea was good. ? I live in Atlanta, so hopefully I’ll be back soon enough to try out a drink. I had a lovely meal and it was pretty busy Sunday night. I guess it’s a popular spot.”
“Having grown up with Texas breakfast tacos I was excited to see a spot in Philly to create what I was missing from home. Bfast taco was good, flavor was def there. A bit on the pricier end for a breakfast taco, even with a homemade tortilla. Was hoping all salsas were given out as well, tried the guaijlo , had good flavor. Not sure if I’ll be a reg just because they’re pricey. But I do appreciate what they are bringing to Philly.”
“Pretty good experience! There was a little bit of a mix up with what we ordered but they instantly took care of it and got us the rest of our food. Some of the food was hit or miss. The broll, Bloc party, Hijiki, and e I shumai was great but I didn't really like the chashu because it was a bit gummy and the wings were not my favorite. But other than that, it was all great. I will definitely come back soon to try more things :)”

“Very small intimate space with the open kitchen directly on the floor. Had an incredible experience here! The staff was super friendly and bantered with us all night. The stand out to me was the scallop toast, it practically melts in your mouth. Though everything we had was excellent flavor and presentation wise. I will absolutely be back!”

“This restaurant is located on East Passyunk in South Philly. I love the ambiance and service was great. Meat and veggie platter was delicious. The platter also came with pizza dough which was surprisingly really good. I am also currently obsessed with their gnocchi, it has the perfect texture and the sauce was amazing. “Walking in here and you're immediately greeted with a wonderful dark and cozy ambiance reminiscent of the early half of the 20th century. Decor and music all match the theme, and the mural of dogs overlook all diners. The wine and spirit menu is very extensive, and the cocktails are premium. The sidecar was actually 10/10 blended and tasted exactly as it should. The biscuits served to start come with delicious honey butter and are quite tasty, warm, and flaky. Steak was cooked beautifully and was a high end chop. The blue cheese melted on top added great savory flavor to complement the steak. The sides were great as well. Nicely cooked sprouts and very buttery, creamy mashed potatoes. Do recommend the baked Alaska though it is very sugary! Quite an uncommon dessert and they do it well. Nice end to the meal. Overall a very tasty and memorable dinner. Thanks”

“An exceptional dinning experience, but getting in is a bit tricky. The restaurant opens advanced online bookings in intervals of two week blocks, on the Sunday prior. There are two seatings each night, 6:30pm and 8:30pm. If you can’t get a reservation for the released block time, you can request to be added to the wait list. That’s exactly how I received my dinning spot. The experience is intimate, warm and friendly. It truly is like being invited to a friend’s house for dinner, except your friend won’t be serving you these yummy dishes. The food creations are amazing and the courses numerous. The chef announces each dish before it’s served, explaining the ingredients and inspiration. They also provide an extensive wine list and delicious craft cocktails. Highly recommend!”

One of the biggest appeals for me other than the food is that they always seat you immediately and bring out your food practically as fast as you order it. It’s also at a good price point. Esp for their Buffalo pizza, of all things.It's the best pizza I've eaten, maybe due to the fact that it was made in a wood fired ovenOur nachos were a bit too drenched in cheese , but it's a personal choice.Soup was good and warmRed snapper was crispy and baked to perfection in the wood fired ovenEnchiladas were made with corn tortillas, but delicious.I'd love to come back.The host/owner is a delight to meet.His love and care in food prep, service and customer dealing is warm and jovial.”
