We met Man Friend's college buddies on Saturday night and we had reservations for Rex at the Royal for dinner. The restaurant had a moody 1920's feel. They had a wide selection of cocktails, wine, and beer. We shared a bunch of appetizers - fried green tomatoes, pork belly, crab fondue, braised oxtail, truffle fries, and pimento mac and cheese. This was a great place for Brunch. There were 4 of us and 3 of us had the skillets which were phenomenal. The only hold out was for Chicken and waffles. The atmosphere was good, a little loud but ok.

Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian dishes, but I knew that going in. It's a Southern inspired restaurant with a heavy focus on meat and seafood dishes - ribs, chicken, short rib, crawfish, shrimp, etc. I made it work and was not the least bit disappointed. The service was excellent and the drinks were delicious. The blue cheese stuffed olives in the martini were incredible.
