“Mogie was one of a kind. He just had this energy that you wanted to be around. He always made you feel welcome, like you were family. Even if you had never been to his restaurant before, he would just come up to your table and start talking to you like you were old friends. That’s who he was. Every time I’ve been back since he passed, I always think he’s gonna come around the corner and say hi. He has the greatest staff and a lot of great meals on the menu. My dad and I go there probably every two weeks.“

“Best wings place in the area, bar none. The original wings are awesome, but I also like Jamaican jerk. Big meaty juicy wings with the best seasoning. Everyone knows Burrell Inn is the best. It's connected to a bar so you get some cigarette smell, but still worth it.This last time we ate outside in the little courtyard. It's cozy out there and fun. Plus you avoid the bar smoke. If you're looking for the best chicken wings, look no farther. You won't leave hungry.“

“My fiancé and I just left here and we are in a food coma! All around such a great experience! The staff was super friendly and the cook was super awesome and loaded up our plates. This is one of the only sit down restaurants that I know of that are open until midnight on a Saturday night. Very impressed!“

“My wife and I consider ourselves foodies.. We often find ourselves disappointed when visiting restaurants in Pittsburgh. However, this was not the case when visiting Jillians. We were more than impressed. Jillian's can compete with some of the best restaurants in Shadyside and downtown Pittsburgh. The menu was exceptional. The dishes were creative, and the quality of ingredients was impressive. Our server (Jillian) was authentic, pleasant, charming, and informative. It is refreshing to have a dining experience like this. This place is a diamond in the rough. We will be recommending this to our family and friends.Parking: We had no problem parking on a Thursday.“

“Stopped by for a few, and I wasn't disappointed, I had one house mixed drink along with a few different beers. The beers and mixed drink were spot on and very well done. I sat at the bar and ordered the house special taco nachos. It was huge, very flavorful, and priced very well. The drink was the Tumeric Elixer.Beers, O mama, Vodoo love child. I would go back and also recommend this to all craft beer enthusiasts. This should be a stop on anyone's craft brew tour. There isn't a waitress staff. You must order at the bar. if you've been here before you would know this, but if you're just coming here for the first time, please be prepared to order at the bar.“

“Great neighborhood gem here. If you have a hankering for a Pittsburgh style fish sandwich, this is the place to visit if you pass by.Friendly folks, warm atmosphere, and great beers and outstanding fish sandwiches.Ordered two fish sandwiches three quarters pound of fish on each sandwich(you will not be hungry after eating those of these) and there’s definitely enough left over for a third. Served steaming hot, crisp batter, and tender fish on a fresh hoagie bun. Tartar sauce was very tasty as well - with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and yes a strong dash of hot sauce. Definitely got my fried fish fix (5 out of 5). If were to provide any critique maybe the bun could have been toasted a bit more to hold up to the condiments - however, while a bit challenging to manage eating like a sandwich, entire time I was eating the sandwich I had a big smile on my face. Will be back again for the fish!!! …. And maybe the sample a few other things. ( the pictures do not accurately capture the size and make it look a bit smaller that it actually is )Outstanding beer selection, see picture for the entire menu - I sampled the Troeg’s Grand Cacao Stout and was happy I did.Highly recommend this place. If you are passing by this neighborhood definitely check it out.“

“Flavors change often. I've come several times and always see something different. I personally love getting the Extreme, which is their version of a DQ blizzard. You can choose what base from any of the available flavors that day and add toppings!! Usually most places do vanilla as the base.Previously, I got an Extreme with a Butter Pecan base mixed with Oreo and cookie dough pieces. That was unusual and tasty, but I also highly recommend adding their new brownie cookie dough bites! That really adds something extra. Last time, I got an Extreme with vanilla ice cream mixed with Oreo, cookie dough, and brownie dough bites. Definitely yummy. Overall, I definitely keep coming back. Also it's cash only! But worth it.“

“We've been to National Public House on a regular basis since they opened. Absolutely always incredible from the cocktails to the staff to the food! Everything is always perfect! Tonight we went to a special reservation only Wild Game dinner with drink pairing! I can't even describe how amazing this dinner was! The chef, drink guru, dessert specialist, owners, and staff at this place are phenomenal! Nothing in the area compares! Enjoy!“

“Love Gunny’s! Brittany is the best and the food is always delicious.Parking: Public parking in a residential neighborhood can be difficult depending on how busy they areKid-friendliness: Fairly kid friendly with a full dining room but do have to enter through the bar.Wheelchair accessibility: Is wheelchair accessible I would guess but is pretty tight and entrance is no step but uneven especially at door threshold“

“We stopped for dinner 430ish on a Friday, the place was very clean and friendly. The menu was a specialized menu with a bunch of customer recommended #1s, it was very hard to choose what meals we would be selecting off the menu due to the whole menu was packed with excellent dinner choices. I settled for the Meatloaf special off the house special board (Amazing), and my wife chose the Chicken Picata (Amazing), these are two of most recommended dinner choices by the house and a few friends of ours. We both ordered the House Merlot with dinner which was a good choice on our part (perfect) along with the wine the house places a large flip top bottle of ice cold water on your table for you to drink at your will. Paired with our meals were a side of mashed potatoes and cooked carrots with a side salad (all were perfect). If all of this amazing meal wasn't enough, we had to order the Zattola homemade ice cream over the house made brownie for dessert... everything was way to good to not finish... We left this place absolutely stuffed, and pleasantly pleased with our experience... one side note I would have to say if you chose to go there, please have a conversation with your servers and staff, we spoke to an older gentlemen who I still don't believe he is in his 70s, he was one the most kind, and personable staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant, he made us feel like family and like he knew us for ever, he stated how the food is prepared and the history of the recipes, you could tell he absolutely loves this place along with the owners and he firmly believes in the quality this place provides. The food was definitely enough for us to go back, but just having the small interactions with the gentleman makes me feel that we will absolutely go back... Im sure anyone who has been to this place and has interacted with this gentlemen could probably attest to what I'm saying, as he spoke to everyone... the world needs more people like him in it!!! Well done Zattolas well done!!!“

“Came here tonight for dinner. Had the John Anthony’s chicken and it was delicious! Server Giulinenne (spelling??) was so kind and attentive! I’ve always had great service here. It’s also remained very clean and tidy even after the Covid protocols started to die off. Thanks so much!“
“Wonderfully cozy little bar. Christine welcomed us with arms wide open. She was an absolute pleasure! Christine got us drinks, took our order and helped us gamble smiling the whole time! Her energy was wonderfully kind! Nora and Jesse from New York will definitely be back to visit! Friday and Sunday!“
“This place was well worth the drive to the new location in Penn Hills. The big Victorian house allowed us to have a party of twelve in a homey setting. Excellent Brussel Sprouts and Bruschetta for appetizers. We all enjoyed our various pasta dishes. The friendly staff worked patiently with our gluten free and dairy free restrictions. The Beans and Greens were the best and two of us ordered more at the end to take home. Bring your own bottle with a $6 per guest (even if we didn’t drink). We highly recommend this place!“

“Very good food. A better takeout wing place than eat-in. Beverages are mostly bottled out of the cooler, like you'd see at a convenience store. Had the wings. They were excellent. Fries are fresh cut. You can see them putting the potatoes through the cutter.“

“Foods great bartenders are great. Quick fast but accurate good customer service. With delicious drinks and food. Honestly I was told the blue lagoon was really good and it's vodka blue curaçao lemonade it was a very good drink just wish it had more lemonade flavor to it. And as far as the raspberry long island goes it's perfectly delicious and scrumptious. Their seasoned fries and Mac attack bowls Cajun shrimp was quite delicious. Although personally I might ask for more Cajun next time. I love to be able to see it in the delicious creamy white sauce they pair it with also the shrimp in this delicious delicacy is fried. Great atmosphere“

“This was our first time here. At first we weren’t sure where to go when we went downstairs so we just went to the bar and were greeted by the nicest older gentleman who got the attention of a waitress. We were early for our reservation but they cleared a table for us and walked us over.We had the nicest, informative, and professional waitress who went over the menu and the evening specials. Karen was a delight! We ordered a bottle of wine, I had a salad and my wife had the butternut squash. The lemon basil salad dressing was home made and was amazing!I had the prime rib which was cooked to my liking. Medium was perfect for me. It came with carrots and mashed potatoes. It also came with a side of au jus and horseradish. Not horseradish sauce sadly. Just horseradish. The prime rib was thin, however had great flavor and I’d order it again. My Wife has the salmon roulade. Soooo good!We had crème brûlée for dessert.Overall it was a great night out. Great atmosphere! It reminded me of my favorite restaurant in Gettysburg, the Dobbin House. We will definitely be back!“
“Not only is this place inexpensive, the breakfast can't be beat. They use fresh, not frozen potatoes, and the bacon is the same as you would use at home, not what you would find at Denny's or the diner in Lower Burrell. Those places use bacon that's thin enough to see through.“

“I ordered the Diablo pasta with salad, my husband the Pittsburgh style steak with a baked potato and salad. We also ordered a fried zucchini appetizer. The fried zucchini and salad were both delicious, I loved the poppy seed sweet and sour dressing. The pasta, though... I guess I should have asked questions. I love spicy hot food, the problem was not that the dish was too spicy. The problem was that the dish was hot for the sake of being hot. There was no flavor to the hot peppers/sausage in it at all. It's also literally just tomato sauce, I guess I was expecting a marinara. Was it horrible? Absolutely not. Would I order it again? Absolutely not. My husband's steak looked (and he says it tasted) delicious, but he said the baked potato was overcooked and dry. He didn't finish it.I expected more of a $100 meal.“

“I haven't been in the area long and have been searching high and low for a good wing spot. Last night I took a chance on Devil Dogs.....let me tell you I was so completely satisfied and shocked. I ordered jumbo wings at very very affordable price and not going to lie, my expectations were low just because good affordable wings are hard to find in the areea. I was so happy when I saw them and tasted them. I will definitely be back thank Devil Dog Saloon!!“

“A little biased here, but my father built LaBarbe’s back in the late 1920’s. It’s gone through changes over the years however, it still remains a wonderful place and still has the great food and great owners. I’m headed back to eat there today (8/6).“

“My husband and I stopped around 7:00 pm on Saturday evening. It was busy but the service was excellent. Our food order was taken quickly and our order was quick.i thought with all the people it would take a lot longer. I had the Ruben and my husband had the fish sandwich. Both were hot and delicious. I would recommend the food to everyone. I was disappointed I was not made aware of the convenience fee until I paid the bill. If cash was better I would’ve paid in cash if I was made aware of this policy. I also had the Cinterlands Porter. Excellent draft. But did not expect to pay $7 a draft. Wish I would’ve known the price before. It was my fault for not checking before I ordered 2 of them. But still a remarkable dinner.“

“Everytime we head to Pittsburgh, we eat brunch/lunch at The Lot in Oakmont; the food is always delicious. They have a large patio that has fire pits and heaters for the winter. The Lot is kid-friendly which is great, because we are often walking around with a baby while our family members eat! I love their beignets, which are warm and melt in your mouth!Dietary restrictions: We have two vegetarians in our family and one vegan; they love The Lot too!Parking: There are a few free areas to park right in front of The Lot.Kid-friendliness: Large, open patio to walk or let the kids move about!“
“It was a nice little place. I dont do large crowds and this place definitely isnt big enough to get giant crowds, tho I could see it getting packed. Bartender Kelly was fantastic, talkative & funny. She's a very sweet lady. The crowd was small, Met a few nice ppl and Kelly had my back when sketchy men approached me. I'd def go back and reccomend to those looking for a soft non wild crowd to just socialize. Thanks for the great experience on my 1st time out alone and 1st out in years!!“

“The whole family really loved this restaurant. Quality ingredients made for some fantastic food. The fried zucchini was awesome. We typically order it anywhere it's on the menu and this may have been the best we've ever had. Prices were completely appropriate for quality and portions. Looking forward to going back!Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is available and our server had our youngest throw coins in their fountain! Very welcoming place for families.“
