The BlackWatch cafe is adorable, cozy, so unique. The selection is so innovative so it has a lot more to offer than just coffee. They definitely have a foam art and they do not disappoint here. They have smoothie that people rave about as well! But can we talk about the building itself? The roaring fireplace at the entry is perfect for a winter’s day or Autumn night! It's loaded with history and decorated with classic literary and fan pieces, interesting conversation pieces, and fun works of art. “Great place for vegan comfort food. Any time I'm missing the taste and texture of a super cheesy quesedilla, this is where I go -- its close enough to the real thing to quench that craving. “Our long time friends and coworkers met there for the first time and it was FABULOUS! Carol was a doll and so interesting to talk with. Her homemade soup, finger sandwiches and desserts (try her homemade scones and homemade whipped crème) were delicious. We certainly didn’t go away hungry. Her vintage style was heartwarming. She kept filling our cups with hot water in the many teapots that she has collected, along with the many types of tea. Oh I forgot to mention she even stenciled the dining room floor!! We will certainly be back.“

“Back Burner Cafe provided catering after a family member passed away. I live away from the area and reached out to this business to deliver. The owner responded promptly and provided suggestions. The food was prepared and delivered the following day. Relatives reported that the food was delicious. It arrived hot and packaged well. I hope to stop in at the restaurant sometime when I am in the area. Highly recommended. A big plus is that it is woman owned and operated.“

I just wish they were open later in the day, it's hard to come here with the hours they have and wish there was more parking. Scranton needs more places like this.This is a must visit if your in Scranton!“

“I've only been here once to try the cupcakes. I went in to order two to go. A vanilla and chocolate, they were absolutely delicious! I just wish that they were normal sized cupcakes rather than mini size. I definitely would like to try this place again and eat in. The lunch menu seems delicious as well! Can't wait to try more. “This is a great neighborhood bar. They have the best Old Bay wings you'll find outside of Maryland and a full menu of great food items. The owner is frequent;y the guy you'll see behind the bar, and he and his wife are one of the main reasons we love this place. They frequently have live bands play there and there's a shuffle board table and darts as well.“
