Had the cheesesteak and got American cheese to go with it. Oily and tasty! They work out of the truck across from the original Pat’s location. If you don’t know it, you might miss it!
About the last three times I have gone back to Philadelphia, I have always gone to Pat’s for cheesesteaks. I do not know what is it, but their cheesesteaks have a delightful and addictive flavor which makes you want to return time and again. My fiancée felt the same way after I took her down to Philly on our way back from NYC. She literally felt in love with the rapidly served hoagie. The actual restaurant is closed for repairs, but they have a good truck serving across the street. Got a whiz wit, it was ok. I can say I've been there now. Ordered like a tourist, didn't get reprimanded.
