“the food is pretty good... but the service is Horrible!! Super slow... no smiles or greetings if you're not Indian. One guy waits on the whole dining room is completely rude and non-verbal... I decided to order to-go last night instead of being ignored in the dining room again and they said 40 minutes... I waited an hour and a half for it! the guy tried to put a Diet Coke for free instead of an apology... I dont even drink Diet Coke. The food is fine but they dont care about the customers at all!“

“Incredible and authentic chaat! My husband was born and raised in India and we have always said that we wished there was somewhere in Pittsburgh that just sold chaat and snack items. We were blown away by the pani puri and the Bombay sev sandwich. The restaurant gives you a proper Indian dhaba feel. Will definitely be back and will recommend to our friends!“

“Really nice new Indian spot in Pittsburgh. They have an option where you can make your own bowl, as well as some classic Indian options. I chose to make my own bowl and selected chicken tikka, brown rice, daal, carrot chilly, and date and tamarind sauce.

It was really fresh and tasty. The portion was excellent, not huge, but nice for the price. The vegetables were crisp. The chicken was super well seasoned (a bit spicy) and had a tender texture. Rice was well cooked too. The daal was served in a small separate container, but when mixed with the rice, it made an excellent addition. The date sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy but didn't really fit the dish that well. I also tried a bit of a bowl with falafel, and while the falafel wasn’t anything too special, it was still very solid.

All in all, I'm happy this place opened (they opened on August 15th, super recent). Great fresh food with some BYO options. Check it out!“

“Our 4th visit to this Choolah, owner and staff are super friendly and welcoming, after I mentioned that it was our 4th visit the owner graciously gave a next meal on us coupon, which I will definitely cash it next time. The quality of food and proteins is really amazing, the sauces are mind blowingly tasty. Specially the mango sauce, even the mango lemonade is delicious.

We took takeouts for lunch on our drive home and it tasted great just to perfection. It takes great effort to install a tandoori oven and they mastered the tandoors, very few restaurants have it and thats the man secret behind amazing tandoori rotis.

I will definitely visit again. Very spacious and beautifully designed interior.“

“Anyone who knows me, knows I love supporting small local businesses. The food was outstanding, but I was surprised at the plastic flatware/napkin in a sealed plastic bag and not real stainless steel flatware. Prices were inline with other Indian restaurants I have been to. Unfortunately, it's street parking in an already crowded street because of apartments. Would I recommend? Absolutely. Would I go back in the future? You bet I would!“

“Great food and good portions. I’ve never had palak paneer with tomato curry before but it was really good. Just what I needed on this dreary Pittsburgh day. Also they had a sign on the truck apologizing for raising their prices. Idk what that’s about because I got a large entree (curry, rice, and naan) and a drink for less than $10 and the food is gonna last me another meal.“

“I was told by some of my friends and on recommendation I finally came today with some of my friends,I ordered some bunch of stuff for the dining 1st started with Appetizers which were too delicious and next went on to for non vegetarian food of biryani’s which tasted too good too then in the last ordered deserts which were delicious too. “Route 51 Restaurant is a little slice of Heaven. If you like Indian/Nepali food, go there. Everything was excellent. Best Masala Tea ever. We had Steamed Veggie Momo (so good), Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Tandoori Chicken. Will will most certainly be back!“
