I haven’t been to Uncle Sam’s on Forbes in 8 years. Just went in today to pick up food for friends ( I don’t eat there… food is disgusting).Still rude management and unreliable food. The fries situation continues with having to pay for fries for take out. And they fill the bag halfway for $3.37. Complete rip off. Go to McDonalds for better fries!Much better places to go to in Pittsburgh. Too bad the reviews keep getting worse.

I got the portobello sandwich the other day and got a total of 6 slices of mushrooms on my sandwich. How is there going to be almost no mushrooms on a mushroom sandwich? Up until the other day, i havent been here for a while but these sandwiches used to be STUFFED with mushrooms, and ooey gooey delicious cheese. I used to be full after eating half, and it used to fall out of the sides, it was so full. It was a genuine huge disappointment to come back to. I fully understand everywhere is raising prices and making smaller portions. Ive worked in and ran kitchens so i fully understand food costs and that eveything is more expensive now. I judt expected a reasonable amount of mushrooms in a mushroom sandwich. Not saying it needed to be over flowing like it used to be.... but damn man, at least give me more than literal 6 slices in the whole sandwich.Vegetarian options: A few different veggie based sandwiches and fries.

I always live stopping by Uncle Sam' Subs. Whether in Squirrel Hill or Robinson, the food is always good. I don't know if they bake their own bread or not, but you could put Shoe Leather on their buns and it would taste good.Always a winner.I did notice that the fries seemed a bit thicker than I remember from last visit but my vote is to stick with the thinner fries - they hold up better as lunch goes on.

Great sub place! Got a chessesteak sub and it was very tasty. More of a old school sub place (comparing to Jersey Mike's and Jimmy John's) which made the sub even tastier.

I ordered the Ultra Uncle Sam's Special Steak(extra steak, provolone, mushrooms, grilled onions, "sweet" peppers, lettuce & tomatoes fries included of coarse! Delicious ?

I was happy when Forbes location opened back up after the pandemic. Started going there daily for lunch. However, on 1-29-24 I ordered a sub and fries. Asked for a bag for my sub and fries. Knowing I would not be able to finished eating all my food. A tall white male, with red hair gave me a bag. Then after placing my fries in the bag he snatched the bag out my hands aggressively and threw it to the ground. I asked to speak with the manager who did nothing. I felt threatened and unsafe. What restaurant snatches food out of customers hands in a intimidating manner. I will never spend my money again in Squirrel Hill Uncle Sam's. The men are hostile, aggressive and have terrible customer service. Now I see why they went out of business before. Terrible customer service. I will never return!

Amazing food , new ownership has put this place on a different levelFrom the bread that is super crispy on the inside, to the well sautéed vegetables , and the juicy stake that coats the sandwich with flavor10/10 would

Used to live in squirrel hill in 2008. I always loved it so much at uncle Sam's. I was so excited to have it again after all these years. Miraculously it tasted EXACTLY AS I REMEMBER. perfection.
Arguably the best philly cheesesteak in Pittsburgh. When you eat in, they throw in a basket of free fries! Everyone that works here is super nice and accommodating!

You have multiple locations and can't take the time to update your hours for new years day. Better yet even put a sign on the door. Just lazy to make your customers waste time to try to give you business .

It's always amazing. I haven't had Uncle S in over a year. But the food is always A1! It's hard to find parking in Squirrel Hill, so when the opportunity comes, I gotta get it.
I had to stop in today for a steak and egg sub and the sandwich and fries were delicious- this crew today was definitely on their game. I stop in when back in town and this meal among the best I've yet to have here.
