“I stopped by for lunch to try a new place and I was very pleased with my service from getting seated to check out the service was very good and they keep a very clean and professional establishment I definitely will be back and definitely recommend you stop byKid-friendliness: Tons of seating for the whole family“
“We held a luncheon here after my father's funeral. The staff and service was amazing from the planning to the event. They made everything very easy during a difficult week for my family. The food was very good as well. Thank you so much!“
“My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday night out at Meraki Manor. We sat at the bar with Kearstin, and several "regulars" like Ed, and a nice mature couple from Geigertown. All were very welcoming. The food was fantastic. We shared Stuffed Mushrooms, Stuffed Shrimp, Scallops, and an amazing Filet. Got some Maryland Bisque, and Lemon Cake to go. Again, fantastic ! Best, best, food and atmosphere we have enjoyed in quite a while. Loved it ! Also, the owners, and the rest of the staff were equally as friendly. Can't wait to go back !!“
“Ice cream hand made on site, only sold on site, always gone on sight!!! ?I would describe it as: "one of those places you see on the travel channel, that the locals love, and is a 'mandatory stop' for travelers in the area."FYI - it's pronounced (bear-ring-er's)!!“
“We had my son’s 3rd birthday party here recently and everything was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, the space was clean, and the ice cream was amazing. We were allowed to move around tables and hang things on the wall which is really rare when you rent a place for a party. All the guests commented on how amazing this place was. We will definitely be back and will try to have my son’s party here next year.“
“Went on Saturday March 30 with three adults, Two Toddlers and an Infant. The host and waiter were extremely friendly and personable! Can’t say enough about how good of an experience we had! Staff was kind and accommodating to our party and the food was delicious! Great place and I will definitely be returning and recommending this place again and again!!Kid-friendliness: Thy have high chairs and a chair to put your infant seat on! All the staff was mindful of the children and very kind, plus they gave the toddlers crayons!Wheelchair accessibility: They have a wheelchair ramp / baby stroller ramp, and a huge parking lot!“
“Great food and service! Came for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed!! Food was fresh and we all loved our dishes. Servers were very friendly and attentive. Definitely a new favorite for us!Kid-friendliness: Good options for picky kiddos! The waiter even joked with my son. There's also a really cool fish tank visible from most spots in the resturant. I would not recommend sitting on the bar side if your child has sensitivity to loudness. It was a great experience overall!“
“This was my husband & I’s first time and we absolutely LOVED IT! Our server, Howard, was absolutely awesome—he was very helpful, fun, and made our experience joyful. The food and drinks were DELICIOUS—one of the best burgers I’ve ever had for sure!! We will definitely be back to see Howard, and to get some more burgers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND:)“
“I appreciated the customer service & warm donuts. It shouldn't be so difficult to find as I'm not in downtown Reading that often. Of course be prepared to pay the meters, but the donut & smoothie hit the spot. It wouldn't hurt to add more signs or neon lights directing you to this business. I'd make a return trip when I'm in the area.“
“Had breakfast there on a Sunday. The food was very good, I got the special, 2 eggs, ham, bacon, sausage toast and home fries. I am a big eater and it filled me up. They have good coffee as well.Dietary restrictions: I have an onion allergy. Their home fries do not have onions.“
“We decided to try Arbor Inn after reading so many great reviews. We figured we couldn't go wrong for our anniversary dinner. The decor and style indoors is very outdated and crusty. Service was extremely slow and our server was inexperienced for someone that should be serving at a place with the high ratings. The best part of our meal was the mango chutney on the Jerk Shrimp appetizer. The grilled boneless ribeye was overcooked, fatty, and chewy. The Jager schnitzel was full of breading and overcooked. For the amount we paid and the quality of food, it was extremely over-rated and we paid far too much for what we got. The reviews seem to be propped up by the "regular" patrons that frequent this establishment. We will not return.“
“Food: it was very tasty. However , my husband got the lobster Mac-n-cheese and gave it an “ok”. It lacked flavor. I had chicken primavera which I enjoyed but for the price I was hoping I’d actually get chicken in it. My father in law had 1 of the 3 that were available that evening pork chops special. he thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was good , the drinks were good but it seemed overpriced. Expect $16 cocktails. We still will go backService : our waitress offered to turn up lights for us. They also took off two of our desserts for our birthday dinner which was unexpected and generous.Atmosphere : it’s trendy , I love the decor , but it’s Dark !! We sat in corner and very little lighting . The waitress did offer to turn up lights but I didn’t want to bother everyone else’s experience . We still enjoyed our time and will go back“
“I had a 2200 mile fiber optic contract in Pittsburgh, PA. It lasted 12 weeks. I went to Longhorns at least once a week if not more often. I love the Outlaw steak. That's all I ever get due to the fantastic flavors and tenderness. My youngest daughter (23 yrs) joins me with the Outback. But, the rest of my family enjoys the filets, Salmon, and chicken entrees.I know that almost $30 for the Outlaw could sound a little expensive. But, when you compare the same steak ($50) at other restaurants. Do the math.... I'm not naming the restaurant. I've had two $50 steaks. One absolutely the best. The other not even close!! I know Longhorn is always consistent.PS. You definitely have to try the sweet potatoe with butter and cinnamon! It's like dessert.“
“Town Hall / Firehouse diner closed awhile back and my brother and I just "discovered" this "Restauran-tey Americana Classico" tucked in the center of town. Ambiance? My 2 star is why we love these places..it's a Diner..the ambiance is " I am hungry, let's eat". Food was very good, prices were great, family owned and operated. We were very pleasantly surprised because we had passed this place dozens of times, now it is a comfort food destination.“
“-We came through on a Saturday afternoon, about 3pm. It was the opposite of crowded- we were immediately seated, though it was odd that with the abundance of empty tables, even by section, we were placed right next to other full tables, making it a little awkward. When I first went in, I used the restroom where 2 of the toilets were clogged. After I used the toilet, i washed my hands and saw someone walk by me without washing and when I followed them out, they walked straight into the kitchens. Yes-an employee. My husband and I wanted something that wasn't fried fast food, and this was definitely better than choosing a mcdonald's or burger king. We ordered the pork belly sticks and the shareable plate. Everything was good. I enjoyed it all without the extra sauces, and my husband sampled the sauces, determining his favorites per meat. I also had a well made margarita (no complaints there!). Our waitress was kind. Overall- i enjoyed it (other than the employee not seeming to wash up) but my husband thought it was just alright. He said he would try a sandwich here next time. We would return if it meant skipping fried fast food.“
“Aniyza, Sam, and Danny were an absolute dream team behind the bar! Their collective expertise and charm elevated the entire experience. From crafting exquisite cocktails to providing top-notch service with a smile, they set the standard for bartending excellence. Will be back…will be at the bar!“
“UPDATE! I returned to this restaurant, now named “American Diner.” I ordered the same thing as before. Eggs, home fries, turkey bacon and grits. I also ordered a New York strip steak because that is what my bestie ordered on my last visit. Upon arrival I was immediately taken to my seat. There were plenty of other customers there as well on this Sunday morning. My servers name is Samantha. A very beautiful melanated woman who just happens to look like Clarissa Shields the current GWOAT of female boxing. She was one of the nicest and prettiest servers I’ve had. She was on top of her job and did it very well. There were no problems with my order and she asked several times throughout if I needed anything else. I dove into the grits first because that’s why I was there. I added butter, salt & pepper than dove in and to my surprise, they tasted a lot better than before. The previous time, they weren’t edible, but this time they were so I dug in. I cut the steak and ate a piece and noticed that it was a little tough and it needed more seasoning, but it wasn’t bad at all. I just added some table seasoning and some A1 sauce and everything was fine. The real test was eating the grits with the eggs and bacon I ordered. Well, I ate everything on the table and not once had to ask for a replacement or for something to be made over. It was cool sailing once my food hit the table. No, their grits aren’t the best and still need some work, but they are edible now and will not disappoint those who love them as much as I do. I was impressed with the cooks because the restaurant was packed and my meal was not under or over cooked. Everything turn out great considering how packed it was. I’ve taken the luxury of adding more stars to this review for atmosphere, food, service & overall quality. My name BigDaveIsFat says it all. “Get Your Grub On” folks! Check out the pictures below!“My first review! The grits were the nastiest I've ever attempted to eat. I sent them back seconds after they hit the table. My friends steak was 85 % fat/gristle making it next to impossible to eat. I am a superior grit maker and I suggested they remove this item from their menu until their staff learns how to prepare them properly. The grits you see in this picture were made me. Creamy with #NoLumps”“
“We cannot speak highly enough about Stokesay, their entire team, and, most importantly, Hannah Kufro, our Wedding Coordinator that we worked with! My wife and I signed our venue contract one-year to the date ahead of our big day, with a different coordinator, one who ultimately ended up transitioning to a different organization just a week before our tasting was scheduled. For a couple planning a wedding, especially so close to their big day, this would normally have been an incredibly stressful change to hear about, however, we were expeditiously contacted by Hannah and met her days later at our tasting – immediately after meeting her we knew we were in great hands, and we both agree that our initial impression was spot on. Hannah’s attention to detail, flexibility, and knowledge have continued to impress ourselves, our parents, and our guests who experienced a phenomenal wedding just this past weekend. She not only hit the ground running with our event, but confirmed several details and was able to work with us to ensure our wedding day was as perfect as possible. While I have personally sent messages to several friends I know who are engaged and looking for venues, I wanted to share this note here for those couples looking for venues – Stokesay should 100% be on your list; the charm, history, venue, and staff will all make your big day as perfect as you could ever dream of – if anything, just go check it out – once you see this in person you’ll see exactly what we are talking about. With deepest gratitude,Blake and Lindsay Tobias“
“We've only once had a problem getting a table, and that was on trivia night. It's never empty, but never full, either. We go about 2x a month and it's always just right. The wing sauces are inconsistent because they're all homemade and they measure by eye, but the wings themselves are always cooked perfectly. Sandwiches are good, so are soups and pasta. Don't really have any real criticism other than each Klinger's location is different. So if you had a bad experience at one location, that doesn't mean the others will be the same.“
“We had dinner at the Skylight Cafe and Bar before a concert at the Santander Performing Art Center (within walking distance). Skylight is a family run restaurant that specializes in Latin American cuisine. There are a few Italian entrees on the menu too. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. My wife had a grilled chicken Caesar salad and I had a marinated grilled skirt steak with a side of sweet plantains. We hadn’t had plantains before and they were wonderful. We shared the Tres Leches cake for dessert. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Skylight Cafe.“
“A couple friends and I stopped at Forrest Inn to pregame prior to an event. Seems like your typical dive bar when walking in. But Harry was a one man show; serving up drinks, cooking, running food, and amazing customer service. The food has cheap prices with great flavor. I went back for a second basket of the fresh cut fries. Definitely worth stopping in and checking it out. Daily drink specials too“
“Stopped in before concert. Staff is exceptional, very friendly and accommodating. I had a Diablo shrimp dinner that was exceptional and the homemade guacamole is killer. Empanadas, steak fajitas delicious. Prices are very reasonable…parking is a little difficult in the area on a Saturday night . Will definitely be back.“
“You feel like you're at a neighbor's house for some food when you eat here. Service is personal, atmosphere is comfortable. food tasted and looked more like home cooking so nothing fancy but still very good. Helps that it is low price.Parking: Limited parking so I'd guess that if it gets busy, might be hard to find a spot.“
“Today, I appreciated the opportunity to eat at the cafe, but my first experience of eating “Gourmand cafe” food was from having it catered at a work event . I appreciate the colorfulness and explosion of flavors. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality food for the price point. I have had their burgers, fries(much of speciality fries),southwest blacked chicken salad and they have some of the best homemade chips(for catered events). They have a-welcoming cafe atmosphere with a wide selection on the menu. Friendly, accommodating staff and portion sizes are plentiful. Vegan,GF,V options available.“
“Stopped for a quick bite to eat on our way to a concert in Bethlehem. Saw it was Happy Hour. Sat and the bar and told the bartender we wanted to split the Surf and Turf burger. She brought it out pre cut and on two separate plates. Well played Pour House. We will definitely be back!!“
“I ordered the "mini meal" of eggplant Parm with spaghetti. It came with a roll, 2 veggies or 1 veggie and a cup of soup and dessert of pudding... All for just $9.99. For my veggies, i got pickled beets and broccoli which was fresh broccoli. I enjoyed my meal. My husband ordered the chili fries which he said could've used more chili and the bacon cheeseburger. He liked his meal. The place is an old time diner with counter seats as well as tables and booths. The bathroom was clean. Our server was great!!!“
“Very good atmosphere, the drinks we ordered were very good and the food was more than good, no one in the group of more than 7 people said they didn't like their dish so I can say that the food was very good. This is a small complaint because I don't speak much English, the menus were very difficult to understand even for native English speakers.“
“Gotham's vigilance extends beyond the shadows, even to the quaint corners of Reading, PA, where Batmanjawn, recently ventured into a unique and historic building. It was Judy's on Cherry, which stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, a sanctuary where even the Caped Crusader can find respite from the eternal battle against crime, a haven of culinary delights where heroes and ordinary folk alike can find solace in the simple pleasures of good food and great company. I was greeted by the warm glow of vaulted wooden ceilings and the aroma of freshly baked focaccia bread, a sensory experience fit for a hero. Gail, the hostess, with her gracious demeanor, welcomed me with the warmth of a trusted ally, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. The butternut squash soup started the meal off Bat-tastically. The old fashioned packed the punch of the Batmobile's turbo boost. The filet mignon, tender as a villain's heart after a night in Arkham, paired perfectly with a side of mashed potatoes and veggies that would make Alfred proud. But it wasn't just the food that left me in awe; it was the service, embodied by Steve, a stalwart guardian of hospitality, a waiter of unparalleled dedication and charm, whose smile could rival even the Joker's grin. With 17 years of service under his utility belt, he exemplified the hospitality that does justice to Judy's reputation of excellence. The unique cigarette-turned-magnet dispenser, made me marvel at the ingenuity of humanity, the resilience of the human spirit. It was transformed from nicotine machine to an artist’s dream. Poetic. As I stood atop the payment folio, passing my Judy’s gift card like a torch of patronage to Steve, I couldn't help but feel that Judy's on Cherry isn't just a restaurant; it's a sanctuary for the soul, a refuge where heroes and artists alike find solace in a world fraught with chaos. To Judy's, I say: may your lights never dim, your flavors never fade, and your legacy endure like the legend of the Batmanjawn.“
“We stopped here for coffee and a snack and a brief business meeting on a Tuesday morning around 11AM. The service was attentive, the coffee was good and refills were readily offered. My husband had a bowl of baked oatmeal and a side of scrapple. I had a side of scrapple. Both were tasty. The prices were reasonable. Note that they are a cash only business and this is an old school diner with traditional breakfast items. There is an ATM on site. We were happy to find a local diner in the area.“
“Tonight was our first visit, we will be back. The hostess was a little cold, she didn't go out of her way to be welcoming, maybe she just had a long day.Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was good and was served fairly quickly. The prices were a little on the high side but the quality was good.“
“If you love pasta as much as I do, you will love this place! The best Friday comfort food is PASTA. We recently visited Calabria Italian Restaurant and fulfilled our carb craving! A great Italian restaurant located in Wernersville, PA. They have a great variety of dishes from traditional pasta dishes to delectable entrees, pizzas, and cocktails. What we ordered:-Fried Calamari: Lightly tossed in flour and fried-Bruschetta: Housemade diced tomato, onion, basil mix with olive oil, over crispy Italian roll with balsamic glaze-Shrimp Scampi: Shrimp in a white wine garlic sauce-Chicken Parmigiana: Colossal chicken breast hand-poured and hand-breaded-Gnocchi: with Alfredo sauce-Espresso Martini-Follow @centralpafoodie on Instagram for more PA food reviews & pictures!“
“Hands down the BEST fried chicken wings in the City of Reading, Pa & has been for more than 30 years. I wasn’t born in this City, but I’ve been eating these wings for more than 30 years strong. Many years ago, he used to have more tasty items for sale, but over the years has reduced it to what customers really want/need which is Soul Food. Headlined by the best fried chicken wings the City of Reading has to offer. Before I begin I must tell you that I am only here to review their wings & fries, delivery through DoorDash has only been available for a a month or so. Prior to this, it’s ALWAYS been pickup. The fries are the basic straight cut fry. They weren’t over or under cooked and matched up well with the wings. The added roll is a black thing. I am black so please don’t think that was a foul statement. Most of us, myself included will not eat fried chicken without bread. It doesn’t matter if 10 pounds of fries were included in the platter. There must be ? As you can see, each piece of chicken was coated and cooked properly. There was no darker or lighter pieces. Every piece of skin on every piece of chicken was the same color. This tells me that no matter how busy they get the food quality is consistent. Please note that this place gets real busy so sometimes DoorDash isn’t available. You may have to call and place your order then pick it up. These wings were served hot which is always a plus when being delivered. Seasoned to perfection with crunchy exterior and a juicy interior. Once you take a bite, you won’t stop eating until all of your wings are gone. Don’t even think about sharing them with a fellow newcomer. Pay the money and get everyone their own platter. Another plus was that I didn’t notice any hairs on my chicken. Now I’m not saying that your piece won’t have any, but mines didn’t. If you happen to stop by, tell them Big Dave sent ya. The best fried chicken wings in Reading, Pa. With that in mind, my name BigDaveIsFat says it ALL!“Get Your Grub On!”“
“We enjoy your breakfast and lunches with the best Italian products in a cosy atmosphere. Our panettone crema al limoncello from Borsari we did buy for Christmas was the best ever ! We recommend to shop and eat at your place and buy the food to continue the Italian experience at home!“
“We just LOVED coming for the first time today! Our hostess was so kind, and as we walked into the restaurant we were seated in such beautiful surroundings. To top it, the live band was fun playing great music. Our server was top notch and the food absolute quality. Quite delicious! We got burgers, and also the fish! When we return we will go for the pizza! It made our day, so pretty, and fun!“
“Okay, this spot is a gem! I’m quite a critic about taste, looks, and service and yo all ima say is they got the best wings in Reading, never would have thought. Im never disappointed with anything I try here!!! From the savory stuff to the sweets. I always have my lunch meetings here because its just so yummy and they have wifi! They are pretty quick despite being very busy and kinda small, I havnt had like OUTSTANDING customer service, but its not bad either hahaha. Just regular I guess, but yo that food tho!!! To die for“
“Had a good meal here recently with some colleagues from work. They had a nice special going on with $15 giftcards for every $100 giftcard purchased, so that allowed me to save a bit on the total meal cost. You can't buy these online but they'll even let you purchase them before your meal, so that worked out well. Service was lacking a bit. We had a very long wait time until someone came to our table, and we had wine ordered and served before anyone had even taken our orders or served us bread. One of the proprietors was on wine duty and seemed determined to pour out the entire bottle rather than leaving it there for us, which I also found a bit odd. Overall the flavors of the food were good, but the staff were very much going through the motions, and our server never really engaged with us or asked us anything about why were there and while the dining room was busy, it wasn't so busy that we couldn't have been welcomed a bit more. When you have such a good wine list and such a nice property I expect the staff to be shining at service. Instead, I got the service I would have gotten at Chipotle, which is "good enough" there, but not here. I'll still probably be back, but if they don't knock it out of the park next time, I won't be. Too many other places I can give a shot to.“
“The food is pretty great, especially for our area! While their menu seems to have changed, the options are still great and we haven't ever found something that didn't interest everyone in our group. The staff are always great, and the atmosphere is so unique. Their Fried Pickles are AMAZING - 10/10 must try!“
“This is a classic bar as it is one of my all time favorite places to watch a sports game. I’ve been coming to Decarlos for years now and Danny has a great business going here. The bar food is excellent and I don’t believe I ever ordered a drink that the bartenders didn’t know how to make. Also, great service and friendly people.“
“We asked our server to please put fresh lettuce on the salad bar, and he did. I personally dont care for whatever the meat is on the salad bar... I don't think it's ham! We were kindly moved to another booth when the gentleman next to our first booth became ill.“
“The best breakfast-brunch-lunch-dessert place anywhere around! There is definitely something for everyone so it's great for meeting people there. Breakfast items are available all day :) There are multiple meat-free options. The falafel is one of my favorites. Today, I had a spinach feta pretzel wrap, and the braided soft pretzel was so good! I am especially called to this place in the colder months because there are so many comfort food options. The weekly specials add variety, but I always have a tough time choosing from the regular menu. I just really need to get here more often!!“
“Third Rail is one of our go-to local spots for burgers and apps! Their bleu cheese burger is my favorite, but I like most every burger I've tried there. Their menu is reasonably priced, and the location is cool -- right near a train track (hence the name). Other sides/appetizers we typically choose when dining in are their pierogis, quesadillas and of course their Old Bay fries. So good!“
“Excellent staff and food Enjoyed our evening not jammed packed and the blacked salmon was cooked perfect. Very friendly waitress and the manager even came over to speak to us. Great evening. We will be back. It's a club but you can try it out without joining“
“Our first time there to celebrate my birthday, I was so happy with everything. We arrived 15 before closing, we thought it was 9pm but after our Awesome Dinner and speaking with our server she said No, it's 8pm, we want everyone to experience our restaurant. The food was so delicious, best meal ever, dessert was great and service wonderful. Highly recommend this hidden gem ❤️Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access from entrance to dining room“
“We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's birthday at The Abbey! Malik coordinated everything perfectly. The Monk Rolls were a hit for every single one of our guests. The service was top-notch. Everyone complimented the cool space, too! Thank you, Chatty Monks in West Reading!“
“Nice quaint small and lovely place.....went with my husband for his birthday. We had the Chicken Parm/spaghetti....ordered it ahead! It was the best Chicken Parmesian I've ever had! Topped any Italian eatery and even my own! Deliciouso! Looking forward to going again soon! Had a delicious Irish coffee for desert!!! :) And, ridiculously affordable pricing! :) :) :)“
“I was DUMMY hungry and stumbled upon this fine establishment. Upon arrival Sophia got us seated and was able to receive my food in a fantastic reasonable amount of time. I'm definitely coming back next time I get my vacation days approved. Will tell all my friends and family about this place.“
“Walking in we were greeted by Kenny the owner. We sat at bar and enjoyed our service there with a very knowledgeable and friendly barmaid. The food was excellent and it was a very pleasant experience.Parking: Very spacious parking lot in the back.“
“I love the elegant, mature atmosphere here especially in the bar area. The service is always outstanding. The food is always delicious, never disappoints. Summer time the patio & live music is a nice change of scenery. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!“
“Celebrated a 40th birthday last night with a party of 8. We had such an amazing time. We ordered 7 different appetizers and every single one was incredible. All the entrees were delicious as well. We could not have been happier. Thank you so much!“
