Hello bistro is a newer establisment on College Ave. From what I've read it was created by the Owner's of Eat-N-Park, a Pittsburgh food institution that has become dated in recent years. The bistro's menu is simple -- burgers or salads with a side of fresh cut fries (if desired). Typical costs are around $10-15 so with that in mind I'd rate this against other fast food places focusing on fresh / better ingredients. I've tried burgers here several times and the buns are fresh, the patty is flavorful and the topping options vary based upon the style of burger selected. The fries are fresh cut, thin and appear to be double fried (crispy) -- I love them. Salads come in a variety of types or "make your own" from a large assotrment of fresh ingredients. The salads are huge and hard to complete in one sitting. Overall, I've really enjoyed this place for a fast and healthier dining option. My only knock is they've struggled in this post pandemic world, like others, with staffing shortages causing long lines and menu inconsistencies.

The food hits the spot!! Expertly crafted bowls with lots of customization-- you can tell the staff here really want you to enjoy your meal. Everything came out quickly and well balanced. Will definitely come back!

Great food but our family of 4's order came out a different time making it a huge issue with kids

Good salads and grain bowls. Wish there were more bowls to choose from. The staff was very friendly and service was quick. Clean restaurant.

Good quick, and casual for students. Stopped in here between classes and it wasn't crowded at all. Bf had a burger and I had a salad, neither were exceptional but they were good for the price and convenient for students. Freshness of ingredients is pretty nice, I added avocado to my salad for $2 and I will say that for ordering avocado in Pennsylvania in the autumn, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of it. I wouldn't go in expecting fine dining or the best burger ever, but the build your own aspect of this place is convenient. It's not too pricey either.

I ordered a kids cheeseburger for the kid I babysit for, and the lady who gave me my food told me that next time I have to have the child with me in order to get the meal. I understand that they don't want to have people buy the burgers for cheaper but it was rude of her to assume it wasn't for a child. If you don't want to sell it, don't put it on your menu!

I go to this place once a week and was waited on by the manager who was incredibly rude. Other staff are great! If I go in and she’s working I’m going to turn around and walk out.

Amazing staff. Manager is very rude, has no personality, and makes customers regret coming in. Leave the great customer service to the employees and have some more training for management.

Looking for a quick but good bite before a show at the State. Great gourmet grilled cheese and super fries, they even graciously accepted my expired coupon. (Oops! Didn't have my readers on.) Tons of seating in the back, good food and looked like generous portions on the salads. My only tiny gripe was the guy who brought the order out didn't say thanks... that part still means something to me, and FWIW the cashier was very friendly and helpful. I'll be back!

Similar to Eat ‘n’ Park. They have two vegan burger options including Beyond Meat. Tasty salty fries. They also have Boylan soda at the fountain! Service was quick and courteous.

It was the first time I ordered from here and walked over to pick it up. The salad I had was delicious. I did order extra chicken, but it was worth it. I like that the salad is made, chopped and mixed. I want to eat there every day now.

This review is for the location itself and not the overall chain. I ordered a pre made salad with no one else in line. It took them, I'm not exaggerating, 20 minutes to make my salad (at 11 am when it first opened, mind you!) because they were making online orders. I ordered a single salad and there is no reason why it should take that long if I am ordering in store. Although the food is good, I would prioritize other businesses in State College due to the wait alone.

Had a very good Cobb Salad. Lots of healthy choices. Wanted to try the burgers. Next time for that.

I was so intrigued by the new addition of grain bowls, specifically the Sesame Shrimp bowl. However, I was HIGHLY disappointed when I ate it. It seems like a bunch of random assortment of foods that do not go together in an attempt to be healthy. It's probably for vegans who need protein but can't get it so they have to convince themselves that these wack a** bowls are good. I have nothing against the business, I just wanted to complain about this bowl and warn others who are considering spending TWELVE DOLLARS on it, do not.

I’ve been swooning over this lovely little spot! I always have the Chicken Cesar salad meal, which includes a drink and a side of soup or fries. Given that they utilize peanut oil, which is fantastic, their fries remind me of five guys. Their salads are generously portioned, and their meals never fail to satisfy me! It provides me with the necessary balance for a healthy ratio. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it!
