“If you are looking for somewhere to eat along Lake Wallenpaupack, this is the place. Something to note is that it is not lakefront, which is okay. As soon as you walk in, you get a lot warmer. Not cold, not hot. warm. It was very cold outside, so it felt AMAZING to get out of the cold weather. It gives off a very cozy, log cabin atmosphere. The chicken wings were excellent. If you really chicken wings, you should get these. The pizza was very good too. Something I thought was really cool was that they had projectors instead of tvs, so they could project four games at once. The bathrooms were very clean and not dirty at all. One thing I please ask is to keep them that way. I will definitely be back here again. Would recommend!”
“Came here the other night. If I didn't know it was BYOB I'd say the vibe was a bit like a funeral parlor, but the lack of a bar scene will do that. But it was no issue because we were told it was byob and picked up a nice Cab on the way. Place is very nice. The fireplace is garishly massive. Seriously. It takes up 60% of the floor space and produces zero heat. If I were the owner I'd scale it down and get 8 more tables in there. That said, service was good although our server was admittedly overwhelmed, she kept up nicely. Entres were good decent price. No complaints. Salads were lacking however. Our only issue is the appetizer menu is very odd and limited. The Brie was served with and exceptional amount of blueberry juice and rice crackers which is a very odd pairing. They would do well to refresh the apps and provide a bit more "pubby" things like calamari. I know they are trying to be fine dining, however with the refrigerated case with the deserts right when you walk in and the massive porch, hints of Cracker Barrel come through. All in all will try it again.”
“Burger Shack has Creative and Delicious specialty burgers at fair prices, they’re also owned by a very hardworking and kind couple. Would 100% recommend to stop by for lunch and shop local ?”
“We went with friends to enjoy dinner and discussion. The food was fantastic! And there was so much of it we took it home for dinner the next night which made the value even greater. Our server was on top of everything from drinks to special requests. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the atmosphere is because we were seated in the bar area versus the dining room. I prefer the dining room as it is less busy and noisy. Overall, The Ridge made it a wonderful evening with our friends!”
“The staff was very welcoming. She told us what food they were know for, she was definitely right!! Their cheese steak special is delicious, you get half a cheese steak and 6 wings of your choice.”
“A restaurant full of history.Incredibly fun to walk through antique shop, fascinating treasures, interesting artwork, each room had a unique flavor and ambiance. Now, the food...Great authentic German cuisine experience. Pretzel-like bread was especially delicious. Great variety of different schnitzel and German meats. Didn't order and beer, but many different options available. Fresh and made right there in the adjoining kitchen to dining area. Feels intimate and as if you're enjoying a home cooked meal.Special recognition to the experience and atmosphere. Owners are great hosts and make you feel like family.”
“The green beer certainly was flowing yesterday. The brewery was packed and standing room only for a while until the table cleared up, but there are plenty of alcoves and places to set your drink while you're pleasantly waiting. Nice touch with the Cousin's Maine Lobster food truck available for food with your beverages. Had a great time! The food and the beer were delicious.”
“I'm from Oklahoma here working on a project and happened upon this small deli and I think they are awesome. You can tell a lot of locals go there regularly. I especially like their Italian heroes and Philly cheese steaks!”
“One of the most fascinating places I have ever been... from the barman to the chefs it is a succession of emotions... rarely is it possible to drink and eat so well in a place that you consider "far" from home. Superb cocktails, wines and food...all seasoned with the kindness and friendliness of the managers. Thank you very much ❤️??”
“Such a fun spot!!?Make sure to get the soft pretzel app; the homemade mustards are out of this world!! Side note: if you get a side salad, I recommend the house dressing because it is also made with the delicious mustard. All of our entrees were delicious and made with love. My personal favorite was the pork schnitzel with capers, but the tilapia was juicy and well-seasoned too. Also, the portions are generous, and they have an awesome selection of beer. We also got the Black Forest cake, which was pretty tasty and the right size to split with the table. But possibly the best part of Nurnberger Bierhaus? The staff!! Everyone was SO friendly and kind. Shout out to our awesome waitress, Bonnie, for making the experience. She had excellent recommendations! I will definitely be back to grab another beer and a brat :)”
“Great coffee and a cool atmosphere. The batista was super friendly and even recommended some local dining places for us. If your looking for a cup of coffee or other beverage go here.”
“This place was amazing! We left Kalahari to have dinner in town, and we came up on this fun restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious and they had many desserts to choose from, but the best part was all the activities that they have for the kids. They were a few bouncy houses/inflatable's, rock walls, ropes, and a large gymnastics/tumble mat. The service was very pleasant. I would highly recommend this place for anyone, especially with the family!”
“Fast fresh food. Corned beef hash is amazing. Place looks small and always packed but there always seems to be seat open and the inside is bigger than you'd expect. I'd dare to say best diner in the area.”
“Great dinner this evening waitress excellent had special stuffed flounder very tasty and well presented partnerr had seafood over linguni equally good hot and well presented coctails excellent”
“We went here for pre- dinner cocktails and didn't want to leave. This place is full of old school charm. The staff made us feel at home immediately. You could certainly tell who the regulars were and they too made us feel welcome. This place will continue to be in the rotation for fun while at the lake.”
“Love this place! Pizza is really good. We also like to get wings. And fries- which are somehow always crispy even tho it's takeout, lol. Mike's is our first choice for take out.”
“Great friendly family-owned local bakery! Love the bear claw and pecan pie. And to meet Grandma Goldsack herself was a plus. They also have a lounge with board games if you feel like hanging out with a cup of coffee.”
“Fantastic location offering a menu at reasonable prices, complemented by excellent service. Despite its modest size, there’s plenty of seating available, including a breakfast bar. Situated in the heart of downtown, we’re definitely planning a return visit.”
“I don't get it, food should be good!!Service should exceed expectationsAtmosphere?? There is none? One cooler papered over, one used for storage of overstock..that's what I looked at, while I sat on an uncomfortable stool.. and was glared at by the old locals that were people watching..and chewing with thier mouths open like livestock”
“Great local spot in the area. The staff is very friendly and the food came out fast. I got the Pittsburg burger which came with crispy fries and we also got pierogis and penne a la vodka. Def good picks, would like to try the rest of the menu!”
“Reno's Pizza 507 is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the delightful aroma of freshly baked pizza. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the pizza itself. It's simply outstanding! The crust is perfectly crispy on the outside yet light and fluffy on the inside. The sauce is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are fresh and plentiful. Whether you're a fan of classic pepperoni or prefer something more adventurous like BBQ chicken, Reno's Pizza 507 has something for everyone. But it's not just the pizza that's fantastic. The menu also features a variety of other delicious options, including salads, pasta, and sandwiches. And don't even get me started on the garlic knots – they're absolutely addictive!Overall, Reno's Pizza 507 is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious, authentic pizza. The food is top-notch, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Do yourself a favor and check it out – you won't be disappointed!”
“Definitely a roadhouse feel inside & out which is kinda the whole point. The chef never disappoints & service is always great whether they are busy or not. Saw a Led Zep cover band there over the summer, was a great time. Not your woke-type crowd in there which is fine by us ”
“they have a super cozy atmosphere. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. The bartender doubled as a cook, and she was super attentive. the Pat's burger and pizza were yummy as well. It's definitely a solid spot to eat in the area.”
“My husband & I organized a little 3 nite get-away to Woodloch Resort (Pines area) for ourselves, 3 other couples & one single friend. We are all in our 60s so everyone has had years to solidly determine they like their creature comforts. We are a pretty well-traveled group so some not easily impressed. Hubby, myself & our single friend have all been to Woodloch a few times & love it! We have never visited in November & hoped there would be enough for us to do. Planning to please 6 other adults left us with fingers-crossed, as inevitably there is always someone who feels a restaurant, hotel, etc. didn't quite meet their expectations. However for this trip, every person LOVED it!! The check-in is not until 5:00 pm but we were allowed to get our wristbands & enjoy the amenities of the resort while we waited for a text that our room was ready. The 3 couples each had Deluxe Lakeview accommodations in the Greenbriar bldg., attached to main building. They were thrilled with the beautiful view each morning from their room or while on their private balcony/patio. They were able to walk to the dining room, night club/show area, sports bar, or lobby which was our usual meeting point, all without going outside. They were right there for mini-golf, bocci, etc. For those traveling with kids it is close to the big playground, water slide in summer or snowtubing in winter, pedal boats or rowboats. My husband, friend & I shared an Edgewater Suite which had a full kitchen, a large bedroom with 2 queen beds, living room with pull out sleeper couch which my friend said was comfortable (but that's based on someone who regularly falls asleep lying on her couch - LOL) & a washer & dryer. Very spacious. It was a little bit of a walk to the main bldg which was no issue for hubs & me but my friend has walking issues. No problem there - there were 3 shuttles that ran right up until midnight. Never a long wait & at times we called the front desk if we knew she just missed it & another shuttle was immediately dispatched. When she asked an employee for a safe way to walk down to the pontoon boat ride as to not go down a somewhat steep walkway they offered to call for a golf cart ride & were right there with it. The one word to describe every employee would be "Accommodating!" Now, of course, food is also important. We had a meal plan that included breakfast & dinner. Both meals each day were plentiful, very good, good variety (breakfast standard crowd-pleasers of eggs any style, home fries, bacon/sausage/turkey bacon, & their homemade bread & morning cake (amazing crumb cake one day, an apple crumb another, etc.), or egg white frittata for those seeking a healthier alternative, just to name a few. Dinner always had homemade soup, family style serving of salad & veggie plus 4 entree choices that included an option for non-meat eaters. Of course, those delicious homemade breads were right there for the taking. Even when stuffed you must try their made-on-premises creamy ice cream. So delicious! The wait staff was attentive & pleasant. Jorge was our waiter for the first couple of days & just the nicest guy always greeting us even when not assigned to our table. Although lunch was not in our plan there was a Deli at the Inn at Woodloch that we visited each day. Homemade soup was great & a large choice of made to order sandwiches The sandwich price was generally a reasonable $10 & for the amt on that sandwich & given the fact Boars Head cold cuts are used I felt that was more than fair. Those with a family could always buy cold cuts & fresh Italian bread from another deli/store by the gas station within the resort premises & make their own. Each room has a fridge. There were plenty of activities: Name that Tune, Minute to Win it, bocci, mini-golf, pedal boats still operating in this cool weather, Go-Carts, & these senior citizens even went into child mode & did the bumper cars! We tried archery which Kayne was manning. He showed the ”
“We have been going to the Totem Inn for the last few months, mainly for the hamburgers. They are truly incredible. There are few contenders to the flavor, quality and enjoyment one gets when eating a locally sourced handmade special seasonings, real tomato and onion all on a unique branded bun. And not a sloppy eat like many othersPrice is great. We get the bacon cheddar burger. It's the real deal .The service is impeccIble and friendly.Highly recommend.”
“Great find after visiting Mt. Wismer Trail. The kids loved the food and I got the steak for lunch. Very surprised for that a piece that big and it was absolutely worth it.There was a smoking and no smoking side and felt like a very comfortable spot to unwind.”
“My son recommended this place so we all went. Such a relaxing place with fantastic food. I can't wait to go back so if you're in town... Definitely Stop in”
“Honestly one of the best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had. Went on a fishing trip in the area and we came here for food a few times and was never disappointed. Good breakfast food and fried chicken, but the true star was the cheesesteak.”
“I love this place. Everything we order from the chicken fingers to the Salmon, it’s delicious. The restaurant overlooks Lake. It’s one of my favorite places in the area. You will not be disappointed!”
