“Hands down the BEST fried chicken wings in the City of Reading, Pa & has been for more than 30 years. I wasn’t born in this City, but I’ve been eating these wings for more than 30 years strong. Many years ago, he used to have more tasty items for sale, but over the years has reduced it to what customers really want/need which is Soul Food. Headlined by the best fried chicken wings the City of Reading has to offer. Before I begin I must tell you that I am only here to review their wings & fries, delivery through DoorDash has only been available for a a month or so. Prior to this, it’s ALWAYS been pickup. The fries are the basic straight cut fry. They weren’t over or under cooked and matched up well with the wings. The added roll is a black thing. I am black so please don’t think that was a foul statement. Most of us, myself included will not eat fried chicken without bread. It doesn’t matter if 10 pounds of fries were included in the platter. There must be ? As you can see, each piece of chicken was coated and cooked properly. There was no darker or lighter pieces. Every piece of skin on every piece of chicken was the same color. This tells me that no matter how busy they get the food quality is consistent. Please note that this place gets real busy so sometimes DoorDash isn’t available. You may have to call and place your order then pick it up. These wings were served hot which is always a plus when being delivered. Seasoned to perfection with crunchy exterior and a juicy interior. Once you take a bite, you won’t stop eating until all of your wings are gone. Don’t even think about sharing them with a fellow newcomer. Pay the money and get everyone their own platter. Another plus was that I didn’t notice any hairs on my chicken. Now I’m not saying that your piece won’t have any, but mines didn’t. If you happen to stop by, tell them Big Dave sent ya. “The thought of it just dawned on me so at the very least, let me leave a detailed explanation here. For context, my father passed in March 2022 this happened prior to his passing. Some time in January/February my father called me because he was hungry. My father was mobile but that day wanted to use his wheel chair. I spent the days with him and would put him in bed and go home. This day he got out of bed wanting to make something to eat, eventually calls me and I suggest Dominos. It's the only restaurant we know that'll deliver after 10pm. I put in an online order, paid for it, put tip on the card. All my father had to do was wheel himself to the door and grab the pizza. What we didn't know than was my father was rapidly declining with an infection taking over his body and he was growing increasingly weaker by the minute.. That night he was feeling particularly weak and couldn't stand or carry the pizza back and roll himself to the kitchen. He expressed to the delivery guy he needed help, if he could set the pizza inside for him. Let me add, I understand the risk in todays world and fully commend this man for going above and beyond. The delivery guy didn't even hesitate, as I'm watching on a security camera inside the house. He wheels my father into the kitchen, sees my father was set up to eat in the living room, so he takes 1 pizza to put on the table. He takes the 2nd pizza and puts it in the fridge, at my fathers request. Goes above and beyond to move things around in the fridge so it fit. He then brings my father his soda and asks if he'd like it opened. He tries to let himself out but my father had to lock the door behind him. If that wasn't the case he would have gladly let himself out and my dad would have been beyond content with how he was cared for. It was a beautiful thing to watch in todays cultural climate. And if this review ever gets to you, I want you to know it's something I'll forever remember. To you, it was another day on the job. For me, it was relief that he wasn't alone to do all of those tasks alone, now realizing how weak he had gotten. I can't thank you enough for being a small piece Of happiness and smiles during a dark place for our family. I remember calling my father immediately after and both of us just boasting on what an amazing human you are. I spoke with a manager after this in hopes of being able to thank him directly and express my gratitude. The manager seemed to not be able to figure out or decipher who it was and wasn't willing to help me figure it out. It bothers me to this day, that you haven't been thanked for your kindness. Hopefully you see this and you know who you are!“

“Forget all of the negative reviews. I order from this papa johns daily and their order accuracy and flavor is always on par. You can have it delivered or order in it doesn't matter and the staff is very friendly, something that is rare to come by with chain restaurants. My to go to order is chipotle wings and garlic Parmesan breadsticks.“
