Consistently one of my top cafes in PEI. It's coffee and teas are excellent - they roast their own beans on site (I once got a tour of the process). Their samosas are always temping to me.But the biggest reason it's been my favourite cafe is the atmosphere. Kettle Black is our fave place to go in Charlottetown for a hot beverage and a treat. It can get quite busy depending on time of day. Great surroundings/decor. We've only had beverages and "treats", never a meal. Perhaps next time we're in town we'll have a meal. We always note there's a variety of patrons from young to old. Some just visiting with each other, and some sitting on their laptops/phones. There's even books available to read. We always make it a point when in town...read full review

I love a good coffee, but I can't say I found one here. I ordered a small drip coffee for $2.88. I don't care for those fancy tea cups they put the coffee in, so I went for a to-go cup. The coffee was bitter tasting. The lone male counter attendant had the friendliness and warmth of a pet rock. He acknowledged my presence with a barely discernible nod.
