Portions were quite large and everything was delicious. Ordered a large latte and it was humongous! Be forewarned it’s not a regular cafe large size. I will say the staff were very friendly, but a bit short on the Sunday we were there. Arrived at 11, waiting about 5-10 minutes for a table. It took a while to take our orders, but the food arrived hot. Will go back for sure, but will go earlier :)“

“Phenomenal experience! Their small menu is a definite sign that they’ve perfected each dish. If you’re going, be sure to get their eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was delicious and the potatoes were perfectly salted. I loved the dressing on the side salad as well, and the hot sauce they gave had a delicious fruity aroma. Just be prepared to wait, as it’s small and quite popular; they don’t take reservations. But we only had to wait 20minutes and the service was quick.“

Ma visite à la succursale du boulevard St-Laurent (coin Ave. Mont-Royal) a été marqué par une chose en particulier; la courtoisie et l’efficacité du service dispensé par un personnel attentif, charmant et très avenant qui tranche misérablement avec une hôtesse qui devrait être affectée, loin des contacts clients, à la plonge! Cette pauvre enfant semble éprise d’une sérieuse neurasthénie pathologique qui, selon moi, mérite une impérieuse attention (médicale ou autre). Malgré mon invitation à ce qu’elle arbore un sourire professionnellement cordial, au risque de nuire à une quelconque gerçure et à compromettre son regard de vaches qui regardent passer des trains, son comportement rédhibitoire s’est ajouté à sa triste prestation. En tant qu’ex-professionnel dans l’industrie hôtelière de luxe, en y songeant bien, cette employée ne mériterait même pas la plonge, mais plutôt la porte. Mais bon, il y a des employeurs qui aiment peut-être ça! Pas moi. Dommage pour les autres formidables employé-e-s de l’établissement; c’est une tache sur une toile blanche.“

“What was once of the seediest little diners with an eye opening (#1) twist, the charm of Les Princesses of Horchelaga has somehow made it to nearly two decades. One of the most controversial businesses to grace this part of the city, it has stood the test of time all while serving up solid diner fare to the community / tourists alike. For a long time, this was a must visit venue for the various bachelor parties that I would lead in the area. The funniest part of watching men that are half hungover from bar / club hopping the night before perk up as they get their orders taken by the scantily clad staff. The real surprise? The food. It was more than just palatable and it certainly held its own compared to the gimmick that this place was offering. On top of it all, it was stupid cheap. Most things were under $10 and I was all about that $5 breakfast plate and $3 sandwiches. For establishments like this, the food typically takes a back seat. Now that the entertainment portion is over and the inflation, I imagine the prices have skyrocketed to new heights. Speaking of the crowds (or lack thereof) It wasn't just men parading the joint, but I would occasionally see families with young children as well. (#2) I can't comment on progressiveness per se, but I can already see why Montreal (and the rest of Canada) has more than just a leg up (#3) on US society. __________ (#1) And perhaps jaw dropping one too. “Went there for breakfast this morning and been really surprised even since pandemic is over for a couples months now even over a year I'd say all employees were wearing masks even tho they do offer really great and professional service. I got me the triple chocolate pancakes for breakfast with a smoothie strawberry banana which both were delicious. They made me full but not too full as some places sometimes you feel overloaded. Definitely would recommend that place if in the village for breakfast. Also service very quick and efficient.“

Et nous avons d'ailleurs été FORCÉS de partager notre assiettes avec des visiteurs qui n'étaient pas les bienvenus.... des drosophiles (mouches à fruit: - Quoique d'apparence assez propre, on y trouve des mouches et des "fruit flys" et nous n'étions pas la seule table à être incommodés par ces bestioles qui indiquement un manque de propreté et d'hygiène du resto. - Taches d'éclaboussures de café sur le mur. Oui, ça peut arriver. Mais faut nettoyer... - Le personnel est plein de bonne volonté mais ils ont la tâche ingrate de faire appliquer les règles...“
