Anyone not posting 5 stars I think works for the competition! This location and the bagels it crafts have been part of my life for the better part of 25 years. I am blessed to have enjoyed every moment of every bite. You might be saying to yourself, take it easy buddy, they are only bagels! But no! Fairmont Bagel produces bagels that must be experienced at their store. The lineup, that moves quickly, is a testament to how much people seek out these magnificent little bagels.Drop by, try them out, I am quite sure you will not be disappointed.I always get so excited when I am there, and forget to take pictures! ?

Best bagels in the world. No discussion. If you prefer other bagels places, you are not worth living in Montreal.

Fairmount Bagel Bakery is a Montreal icon for bagels. Although there are many bagel factories in Montreal, we stand behind certain manufacturers Fairmount, St-Viateur, Bagels Factory etc... for me it is Fairmount Bagels Bakery.

the best kept "secret" of Fairmount bagels = BOZO (dough from 3 bagels to make a single "big" bagel even softer)!

Good spot to visit for tourists, as they speak English. The bagels here are very good. They only take cash or debit over 10 dollars.

I stopped in as my travel companion wanted to bring bagels home from our visit to Montreal. It was busy on a beautiful Sunday morning, and there was a small lineup going up the ramp to the front door. A five (or so) minute wait later, we got to the front of the line to place our orders.I chose a dozen all-dressed (everything) and a dozen garlic. They were quickly bagged up and we were on our way.The garlic is very strong (their description says pungent, and they're not wrong) on the garlic bagels and it will linger with you for hours. If you love garlic, these are for you.Personally, next time I would go with the onion bagels instead. I love sesame, my family does not like the overwhelming amount of sesame seeds on the sesame bagels. Onion would be my compromise as there's a mixture of onion and sesame. The all-dressed bagels are well balanced, having a mix of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, caraway seeds, onion, garlic and a bit of salt. The best of, ahem, everything.... These were a home run in my house. The bagels have a dense texture and a satisfying chew to them, they're unique to the area and definitely worth a try, especially if you've only ever experienced more 'bready', bun-like bagels available across the country.

2nd experience: got the sesame and all dressed, they were definitely better that store bought but could be chewier. The 40g smoked salmon wasn't great, didn't have much flavour aside from salt, it's not their house product so I don't blame them but do not waste on your money on it, the bigger packs are probably better since they're different brands.1st experience: ordered 6 different bagels for the week, made the mistake of putting them in the fridge where the got tough as nails. The bagels that survived were good.
