“Just enjoyed a delicious lunch. Fried Calamari (not pictured), Chicken Parm was tender and juicy (the biggest chicken breast in town), and Swiss mushroom burger. Brendan our server was quick and kind. The owner Mike even came out to greet our table. I’d highly recommend you to try it. The hours are just for lunch.“
“Luckily a friend told us about what to expect here otherwise we would’ve been totally confused. There are two separate businesses located in one location called “The Royal Bobcat” with OUI over the entrance. If that isn’t confusing enough you’ll need to walk thru the bar area to find a couple of menus on a small counter or, you can use the QR code on each table to peruse the menu. Ring the bell on the counter and someone will appear to take your food order. If you want drinks you order from the bar. We had the gumbo which was a small bowl of a Southern grandma’s comfort food. Next, the gooey chicken wings coated in a Korean finger lickin’ glaze and the vege dumplings – crispy and delicious although I have had better at another Korean restaurant. Overall, the food was good and I really like the vibe of the place with stained glass and sparkly lights in an intimate setting. My only slightly negative comment would be the bartendress who is low on the scale of friendly and definitely not a smiler. Bartending isn’t difficult. Really it isn’t. I bartended in my youth in strip clubs to huge nightclubs (which is probably why I can’t hear well now). Your job is to be a purveyor of liquid happiness with a side of charm. Cracking a smile now and again will can turn this bar into a beacon of joy amidst a delightful menu of seoulful bayou Korean-Cajun fusion concoctions.Parking: It's Federal Hill where parking is always a challenge.“
“I meant to take a picture of my food and forgot. I stopped here on a whim during my workday - first open place I saw at lunch time. It was fantastic! I had pulled pork that didn't need sauce (though I added a little just to taste that as well), probably the best mac and cheese I've had at a place like this, and excellent cornbread. The food cam out quickly and the people working (I believe the owner and his daughter?) were friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a quick, quality, affordable meal, don't skip this place. I hope work brings me down to this area again soon!“
“It's a cute little restaurant with a cozy interior. We went here for our anniversary dinner, and everything was... fine. The service was fine, the meals were fine. Just pretty run-of-the-mill. The hostess though, was exceptionally kind and helpful. I would go back, but probably not for a special occasion.“
“Having grown up in the MA southcoast, I’ve had my share of Portuguese food, and iAlive certainly did not disappoint - simply delicious. The garlic sauce served with the bread had subtle heat that doesn’t overpower the other flavors, the portions were generous and prices were reasonable. Pictures of the dishes were also on the menu so there were no visual surprises, the server was friendly, efficient and well informed. The kale soup was perfect (it’s so easy to over or undercook the kale), the scrod had a buttery crunchy crumb topping and the stuffies were truly stuffed to the brim. While there was little room for dessert we opted for the flan and it was the best flan we’ve ever tasted, melt in your mouth with perfect texture and amount of syrup. On our way out we made a point to tell the owner how much we appreciated the delicious food and impeccable service. It fills up fast, even in late afternoon, so strongly recommend making reservations!“
“As a Brown student, there is simply no way to go about avoiding the atrocity that is Jo's on a Friday or Saturday night. Whether you're looking for a delicious grilled cheese sandwich or loaded quesadilla because you can't make one yourself (hey, I'm not judging), a greasy burger or chicken sandwich (spicy with, if you will) accompanied by french fries, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks, or the best salad on campus (I've never once gotten one myself -- that's just what people say), Jo's is your place. They've got enough food to feed an army of ravenous college students, which is exactly what happens nearly every night starting at 6:00 PM up until the dark hours of two in the morning. Whatever you're craving, they've got it: cookies, ice cream, Rice Krispies treats, pretzels & hummus, juice, soda, chips, and more. The perfect place for off-meal-plan students to treat themselves (or get treated ;) to a deliciously unhealthy on-campus meal, Jo's will always hold a special place in every Brown student's heart. Looking for a more balanced meal that isn't the underwhelming buffets at the Ratty or the V-Dub? Off to Andrews or the Ivy Room for you, young trooper.“
“Always a great experience there. Food was absolutely delicious as always! We started with Mozzarella Sticks (more like circles), they were super crispy and loaded with cheese. We both got the meatloaf dinner, was very good! Our waitress was very nice, definitely give her 5 stars!“
“Went here for the first time and absolutely loved it. The Pina colada best of the best !!! The pinchos bomb and the chimi mix was absolutely flavorful. The carne frita was also very delicious !! Will be back soon . Very friendly and went above and beyond .“
