“The food was much better than expected and the service was great...BUT...I didn't notice the 15% surcharge on the bill. There were only four of us so it wasn't a large party where that would be expected. Because I didn't see it, I tipped 20% more. I will be looking for surcharges from here on out though. Trauma is a good teacher.“

“We ordered sushi, ramen soup tonkotsu and hibachi teriyaki chicken with fried rice. We've ordered food from this restaurant before and it wasn't awful like this. The soup base was super sour like it was "old" or maybe from 3 days ago. The boiled egg was beyond gray in color and tasted bitter as if it had been soaked in soy sauce for a couple of days. The sushi tasted days old as well. I've ordered the same soup and sushi from Publix and it was better. The eggs in the soup at Publix were actually white and the soup base tasted fresh. They even microwave it- like in front of you. This is just disgusting and $55 wasted as all of it went into the trash.“

“I've been wanting to try it here for a while, it's five minutes from my house and it gets really good reviews! I started with a Thai iced coffee, chicken satay, basil rolls, and my girlfriend ordered the fried spring rolls. All were really good! The Thai coffee in particular was a standout. For entrees, I had the chicken pad prik and she had the chicken pad Thai. We both really liked our food! Hers was a lot more sweet than other pad Thai's I have had. The server was very friendly and helpful, but I had to remove a star for how slowly food came out. It took something like 30 minutes for our appetizers to completely come out, we were getting one dish at a time. Inside, the place is a bit run down, but it's still friendly and it wasn't dirty or anything, just looked like they needed to put some real time and effort into fixing some stuff up. That said, the price was right and we got a lot of food for a fair amount of money, and we really enjoyed it! J.Ja“

“I go here at least once a week, sometimes two. It's the best ramen in the area. The ramen is pretty consistent. There have only been one or two occasions when I felt like the broth flavor was off a bit from their usual rich flavor. If you like ramen, this is a fantastic option and we're lucky to have it.“

“This restaurant is one of the best hibachi restaurants I've eaten at in Charleston. The food is high quality and comes out quickly. It is mainly a take-out type establishment but there is plenty of seating for anyone wanting to eat in.The worker who I assume is the owner is a very nice guy. He looks like he takes pride in his work and is happy doing his job. The food is very tasty, chicken hibachi is much nicer here than any other hibachi I have had elsewhere.“

“This is a pretty impressive and fun place if you want to entertain your friends. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you walk in you are greeted by a friendly and helpful staff and decorative setting! It definitely feels like you are traveled outside of Charleston. We tried a variety of sushi and sashimi... it was all fresh. So much so that each fish had the distinct flavor of the fish vs it all tasting the same. The sushi and sashimi sets are a good way to go if you want to experience a variety of flavors. Plus they do an amazing job in the presentation... honestly that is part of the fun and joy eating at the Sake house. Of course you have to order a couple of sake drinks. I think warm sake goes perfect with sushi/sashimi AND don't add any extra flavors, which you will have the option to do at this restaurant.“

The sauce was amazing, slightly sweet and a little salty, with a hint of ginger. The broccoli wasn’t cooked to mush, it had a nice crisp texture. This is how take out should be done. I would never eat sushi off of a buffet that's been sitting all day but all of my sushi was prepared to order and it was delicious.
