Wish we had found this Deli when we arrived on HHI. But happy we had an opportunity to enjoy a lunch before we head home. Can't understand the poor ratings. We had matzo ball soup, a hot cornbeef with swiss on rye and a combo cornbeef with chopped liver. Both sandwiches were excellent,what you would expect at a good Jewish Deli. Soup was tasty too. Service was good as well. Took a slice of cheese cake home glad we did. If you enjoy NY deli food you should give Gruby's a try.
Gruby's New York Deli is an authentic New York deli with delicious sandwiches. We visited twice this week. I shared two sandwiches on our first encounter: a Roast Beef sandwich with beautifully rare meat on fresh rye and a "twin towers" sandwich with paper thin corned beef and pastrami on rye with thousand Island dressing and coleslaw. I was pleasantly surprised with this place! The food was decent and the service was excellent. There were definitely a lot of regulars which was a good sign and they have a huge menu and were super accommodating! It definitely felt like an authentic Jewish deli complete with the friendly Jewish owner! Highly recommend!
