The fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and cabbage were enjoyed, although the chicken was slightly dry and the cabbage had a distinct ham hock flavor. The cornbread muffin was dry and dense. The restaurant in Chapin received high praise for its cooks, servers, and food quality, reminiscent of the original Lizard's Thicket. The waitstaff at the restaurant is attentive, and the portion sizes are large. The food may not be extraordinary, but it is consistently good, making for a positive dining experience.
