Taqueria Jalisco is a great restaurant with authentic Mexican food in Chattanooga. The tamales and street tacos are a go-to. The empanadas are delicious, and drinks like the agua frescas, cocktails, and excellent spicy margarita are yummy. The corn from the cob is really special, and the shrimp tacos are served with rice and refried beans. The tacos are a step above with fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and creative combinations. The wonderful guacamole dip is worth taking home. Service is swift, friendly, and staff is very friendly. Prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is great. Some reviews note the food can be bland, with the steak extremely bland and not seasoned, and even the salsa Verde was mild. There is limited seating, maybe 15 seats, designed mostly for carryout. Lots of homeless are in the area at Miller Plaza. It is a must try, easily in the top 5 favorite restaurants in Chattanooga.
