“Columbia is a great place to hang out and American Barrel is a unique little spot. The bartender was impressed at my Scotch choice, probably because most patrons couldn't tell a decent Whisky from a Carrie Underwood song. Ok yeah I'm a bit of a Whisky snob. The food is more bar style appetizers, but it's pretty good as an accompaniment. Not a place to plan a meal but definitely a place to go after and enjoy a good dram or cocktail. Also, the location in the increasingly trendy square sets it a part from some of Columbia's other drinking holes and gives it more of a classic vibe. Recommended!“
“Love this place stopped in after doing some Christmas shopping. This place always greet you with a smile and is eager to sit you down and fast to bring you drinks. Food was delicious Love the fresh guacamole. Waitress was constantly at our table making sure we had everything we needed and refilling our tanks. All in all atmosphere cleanliness bathrooms were clean Nice staff good food this place is awesome.“
“Large portions, and you can get extra sides if you want. Cost is always a concern, as everything is going up. Given the amount of food I got, I still felt it to be a good value. Employees were friendly and helpful. And the restaurant looks clean best I could tell. It is a block off the main road, so you're going to have to look for it just a bit.“
“First visit. Sat at the bar with a friend. Colby was our behind the bar server. He was pleasant, personable and prompt in taking care of us. My friend and I split a small pizza and she had a side of 6 wings. The food was delicious. The tap Modelo was cold and the perfect accompaniment. “Went here on a whim a few weeks ago, and loved every moment! Food, ambience, view, TVs, service, and overall experience was top notch in my book. We (two of us) sat at the bar (bartender was hilarious and we loved her) and enjoyed every bit of it. Definitely will be returning!“
“Besides the food being fresh and amazing, have you tried the margaritas at Asylum?? If not, you're definitely missing out! No sweet and sour or nasty tasting mixers. Fresh juice and a Tajin lined rim (my preference) makes for an absolutely PERFECT margarita. Also, the lemon drop comes close behind as a personal favorite“
