“The food is amazing! OMG! I can’t express how much i’m in love with their food….it is literally THE BEST!!!”

“Dined here for the first time. Husband and his brother had Scallops. I had the 50oz T-Bone, $150.00 with a great bottle of wine. Very nicely done. This dish came with three sides from the left side of the menu excluding one dish which was explained. Long story short I ordered the $150.00 T-Bone with the three sides being the Brussell sprouts, the potatoes and the oysters. Our server c ame back to say there would be and up charge of $5 for the oysters, maybe $8, now mind you this appetizer WAS included with the offer. When the bill came there was a up charge of $10 for the oysters. So, we went from a $5 upcharge to $10 upcharge. The tip was $75.00 which is not a problem but misinformation is.”

“Where do I start? As first-timers, we were mortified to see the perfect view of the kitchen from half the tables in the dining room. We felt fortunate that we were NOT seated at those tables.

We were again surprised at the menus printed on plain colored paper and the paper napkins, given what we had read about the restaurant and its offerings. I had already made up my mind and mentioned to my husband that, no matter how good the food was, I did not expect to want to come back.

But then we tasted the food! I'll be updating this post when I get home, but suffice it to say that the food was worth every penny and then some, as was the incredible service. More pix, more deets coming when I get to a real keyboard.

“This is a hidden gem of Johnson City! If you are someone who is hungry and looking to feel good about life in general go eat here! The owner is a very lovely and fascinating person who clearly has a passion for what she does. If you enjoy a bright yet calming environment with original art all over you would love to dine here. The infused water is so refreshing, when you try it you will want it again for sure. I had the mango chicken rice and it was amazing. She can adjust the spice level to however you want it to be.The portion is very generous too! Don't skip out on the hand pies either! So flavorful and very satisfying *boom* (iykyk 😁). Don't sleep on this place!”

“After a HORRIBLE experience at YeeHaw brewing we found Great Oak/Southern Craft. What a life saver! The staff was friendly and charming, all the ladies seemed to work hard and FAST. We got our food so quick, which was great after a cruddy experience. I wish I could remember our waitresses name but she had long light brunette hair in a ponytail and she couldn’t have been for efficient. Our water never ran out, the beers were great and the food EVEN BETTER! I think the manager stopped by too, and she was just as kind and helpful(: The portions were large, hot and tasty! Sauces weren’t half bad! Definitely suggest the wings (our waitress suggested the fire apple and she was right on the money) and my husband loved his half chicken. We were full all the way back to West Virginia lolHighly suggest giving Great Oak Brewing/Southern Craft your business in the area!”

“This was one of our two “go to” restaurants when I visit Johnson City and have lunch with my mother weekly.
We started going to the other restaurant much more frequently, however, because this restaurant always feels dark inside. And with spring and summer coming up, it would be nice to have a little better lighting! I imagine it would be totally fine for dinner, but for lunch, sometimes it’s so dark inside that it feels a little odd in the middle of the day.
That said, the food is solid. I enjoy the fact they have sushi and other items for me, while still having standard fried-rice-type dishes with the creamy sauce for my mother.”

“We ordered the 32 bone-in wings with the 4 different flavors. The wings were so grossly over cooked and the flavors were so indistinguishable from each other that we ended up throwing them away!!! These were without a doubt the worst wings we have ever had!!! Totally unpalatable!!! The curly fries that were boxed with them were so soggy and oil laden along with being so overly seasoned...., for a company that says JUST WINGS, I can`t imagine that they could surprise anyone with greatness!! This experience was just plain awful! Hope the next customer has a better experience than what we had! Won`t be back!!!”

“Today I ordered the three for twenty at my local Outback establishment. It was an entre with a side, a salad and a piece of cheesecake for twenty dollars. I got the 6oz sirloin and it was so incredibly tender and delicious. I got a wedge salad instead of a half salad and I got a premium side for an additional 3$, the chocolate thunder down under. How amazingly sinfully delicious. This Outback rarely disappoints.”

“My girlfriend and I had Valentine's Day dinner here. It was our first time eating here. I had the salmon and she had beef tips. Both meals were delicious. We finished with dessert. I had cheesecake and she had had bananas foster. Again both were scrumptious. The server was studious and cheerful. The ambiance was cheerful. We will definitely return.”

Also the smoked Mac and cheese and cornbread pudding (think that is what they called it) very very good as well. We enjoyed banana pudding for dessert! We highly recommend!!”

“My true review is a 3.5 out of 5. Let's get down to it.... I get offended by people claiming NY style when it is no where near NY style. First of all you can't claim NY and be cheap on your toppings, sauce included. At $2.50 a topping | should be having toppings in every bite and this fell short. I wanted to like them because the crust what the right flavor and crispness, and the sauce when you had it on your bite was perfection. But this was like being a teenager getting teased by your bf or gf endlessly waiting for something to happen but never does. And you're left behind wanting more but with overwhelming disappointment at the same time. I know it sounds harsh but just claim it as what it is. Take the NY style off the door unless you want to be more consistent, add extra sauce to your pizza, and quit being cheap on the toppings and make that pie greasy with goodness and you'll have something.”

“I've been wanting to try Fuji for a long time and tonight I went there for my birthday and I was impressed by the courteous and polite staff which was a good sign. I had seen the menu as had my girlfriend so we both knew what we wanted so we gave the waitperson, I don't know his name but he did the little bow with folded hands after taking our order which came very quickly I might add. I had a drink called Magic Peach which was very tasty and very strong, the Spring Roll which were good sized crunchy and delicious, the Veggie Gyozyas which were fried to perfection and yummy and lastly the Avocado Roll from the Classic Menu also as good as any I've had. So all in all it was great way to spend my birthday eve, I give Fuji 5 stars! I look forward to my next visit!”

“We were in this plaza and this restaurant caught our eye. We are so glad we went in for lunch. It was amazing. Steamed bagel sandwiches. Never had them before but they were so good. They have breakfast options that are available all day. I got the Reedy Reuben on an everything bagel. My husband got the Steamenstein on an Asiago bagel (corned beef, pastrami, Swiss & spicy mustard).
We then each got a Tiger Paw for dessert (plain cream cheese on a French toast bagel with cinammon sugar).
Everything was delicious. The staff was super friendly and helpful. You order and pay at the counter and then they bring it out to your table. If you get a drink, you serve yourself at either the soda fountain, fresh coffee, or sweet or unsweetened iced tea.
We will definitely return often when in Johnson City.”

“We had never been here, but The Down Home was recommended to us a while back. Our party of five stopped in for the first half of an Alexis Wax concert/fundraiser for Erwin. The venue is quaint, but there are plenty of smaller booths and tables for four (we grabbed a spare chair to accommodate us), and a bar selling beer and wine, water is there for free. Food is also available, and everything is posted on their website. The sound was good, we all enjoyed our time, and we look forward to returning when we can stay longer. Definitely recommend The Down Home for live music in Johnson City.”

“We had lunch at this location today. The food is delicious but I have 2 comments. The penne with white clam sauce is more like Alfredo with clams in it. Delicious but not authentic. White clam sauce should just have olive oil, garlic, clams and clam juice. I cannot recommend the eggplant parmigiana at all. It was paper thin eggplant slices with a thick oily breadcrumb layer smothered in marinara and mozzarella cheese not parmesan. It was not appealing and I couldn’t eat it. But the garlic knots were the best I’ve ever had. Freshly baked and swimming in a very nice garlic butter. The salads were fresh and the calamari was perfect. So I recommend the place just not it’s authenticity and definitely not the eggplant dish!”

“I normally would say that I recommend but not today at least at the location near RDU Airport on Easter Sunday. They stopped seating to give preference to getting all of their online orders caught up. We were told when we checked in that we would have a 25 minute wait....then they stopped seating and gave no explanation to the store full of people on the list. We waited for over an hour with nothing. I finally spoke to the manager who merely apologized and walked away. We left, went to Waffle House, and ate a good meal with great service. I am a rewards member and a regular customer but this was very bad management whether it was due to corporate greed not putting a limit on their online orders or management at the store level not having enough staff and something needs to change with this policy.”

I walked into Five Guys in JC today and mentioned to one of the staff, which may have been the Manager, that this was my first time at Five Guys, and he turned toward all of the other workers and announced that I was a newbie to Five Guys. Him and the entire staff gave me an unexpected, but much appreciated, warm and friendly welcome. I hadn't felt that welcome since I had dined at a Waffle House in South Carolina! He then told me that my meal was on the house! I found this experience to be refreshing and thought to myself that we all need to be more generous, kind, and friendly in today's world which seems to only get more divisive and less welcoming each year. The grilled cheese with barbecue was amazingly good with a side of deliscious Mac and cheese. All the food was spot on. The real beauty of our late night meal was definitely Simone. Their service has always been wonderful; they even called to double-check our order for our wedding cake, ensured to bake it separately as my husband has a coconut allergy, and drive it two and a half hours to Hickory, NC. Since this happened I ordered 8 Strawberry Chipotle wings, and though they have no heat to me, they are amazingly tasty.
