Board to Beers Bar • $
2867 Poplar Ave, Memphis

“Recently discovered Board to Beers and have already signed up for a monthly couples membership. Me and my husband love board games but don’t have the space or funds to have the huge collection we dream of, so instead we get to enjoy tons of games for such a small price with great vibes, drinks, and people. Plus who doesn’t love to support their local nerd community!“

“Super chill brewery with a wide selection of beers on tap. Even though it’s a brewery, the food here is out of this world. I’ve loved every appetizer and burger I’ve tried. The cheese curds are buttery and taste better than I’ve had in Wisconsin. Also recommend the hush puppies, pork belly appetizer, burgers and fries.“

Crosstown Brewing Company Brewery • $
1264 Concourse Ave, Memphis

“First brewery I've been to in town. The indoor space is a bit small but they do have space for live music or a DJ. Also the outdoor seating and parking area is huge so you shouldn't have a parking problem. They have a bunch of games and some popcorn and tortillas chips to snack on. They do not service food but you might get lucky and be there on one of the days they have a food truck outside. The service is good, they come pick up your empty glasses often and don't mind letting you taste a beer. Only bad thing is the women's bathroom...it smelled like pee the time I went but there was a big party with kids in attendance.“

Hammer & Ale Bar • $$
921 Cooper St, Memphis

“Great little neighborhood bar with local and other taps, plus a good bourbon selection. I was there in my professional capacity so I didn't get to eat or imbibe but now that I know the place isn't just a three beer joint, I'll go back with my wife and in law group. Seems like one of those places that "everybody knows your name"... great looking, clean and cozy. Met the owner, who's a really great guy. I look forward to going back off duty.“

Bar DKDC Bar • $$
964 Cooper St, Memphis

“The bartenders here all seem super nice and competent. It s a cute little space. But y'all..I really can only review the patio area....which is every thing a Midtown bar should have, including good fans and sturdy chairs. 100% Five star patio!!!ButI m pretty sure the building is haunted. The little bar room is well laid out and decorated. It's not that the interior design is spooky or anything off putting. It s quite cute with a chilled out aesthetic. The staff are lovely and welcoming. So either their neat little vintage photo booth thing in the back has something extra or the actual shop space it s self is just charged up with some kind something. It s not scary or anything, just a notable feeling once inside that grows stronger the farther away from the door.Being haunted isnt usually a problem for a Memphis bar and DKDC is no exception. It probably actually adds to the experience. Check their calendar as their entertainment runs a wide variety of tastes and there s probably at least one night coming up that you d like. The lady bartenders I encountered were all very fast and friendly, although I ve taken to drinking only Sprite when visiting since the building is haunted and spirits and spirits arent fun to mix.“

WISEACRE Brewing Company OG Brewery • $
2783 Broad Ave, Memphis

“I like the original better than the new headquarters - many of the same positives, but a few neat little differences pointing back to their roots. Same overall supply of merch and cans to-go, but different things sell out/still available. More chill setup, which allows time to try tastes before picking. Neat, rustic outdoor area.“

“i love this place the bartenders literally so slay. the servers also a slay. everything here is just SLAY. honestly you’ll never find me at another memphis bar. i honestly cannot say enough good things. and i was NOT paid to say this.actually i only have one complaint. this bar has NO pickles. actually had to change my review of the food to 2 stars for this reason. and i honestly i have requested them before and i had been promised them. but ive never seen any follow through. so with that i honestly to knock down a full star. but i wont because i still love this establishment.finally. the bartenders and serves here are SO chatty. take that as you will. and honestly some of the patrons pretty chatty too so you may love that or hate that.xoxoUPDATE: the pickles have arrived. i appreciate that this establishment can respond to feedback. will be updating my review to 4 stars for food. the pickles were so delicious thanks yall :)“

“Head down the stairs to the basement of 52 S. Second Street to this rustic Memphis BBQ spot with a jukebox and plenty of memorabilia adorning the walls.Overall, they were not too busy on Wednesday in the late afternoon/early evening. Our group enjoyed the experience and left satisfied with the food and the service.Chicken BBQ Nachos: the chicken was flavorful and moist, the cheese was a liquid nacho cheese, but the chips were just round tortilla chips probably from Sysco or US Foods. Nothing super impressive, but still tasty. 7/10Rendezvous Special (Ham, Cheese, Salami, Sausage, Pickles & Peppers): in my opinion you should just get the 'cheese and sausage plate' with extra sausage. The only difference is you don't get the ham and salami, which adds nothing special to the dish. The sausage had dry rub on it and was good, but not great. The cheddar cheese was in long rectangles, and would have been better cubed so you could make a perfect bite. The pickles would have been better as chips instead of spears for the same reason. 7/10Half rack pork ribs: the ribs were tender but still had some texture and bite to them. Flavor was good, lots of rub and light on sauce. I didn't LOVE the raw rub being put on when the ribs are served. Also I'm not 100% sure, but I think they leave the membrane on the ribs, which was on the crispy side and wasn't the best mouth feel. I prefer no membrane if you can't tell. 7/10Brisket: I ordered the "pork ribs and brisket" and the dish came with about 5 slices of brisket. 2 slices were dry as a bone and not good, and the other 3 slices weren't as dry but they were slathered in BBQ sauce which totally drowned out the flavor of the brisket. Not sure if this was a fluke or not, but that was my experience. 5/10Baked beans: these had nice flavor and chunks of pork which added to the texture and unctuiousness. I don't normally go crazy over baked beans, but these were quite good. 9/10Coleslaw: vinegar base, pungent flavor. I enjoyed it, but it's not for everybody. 8/10“
