“My 1st time visiting was on Sunday for Memphis Black Restaurant week. The food was delicious and one of the owners even gave me a tour of their venue. Beautiful artwork displayed. Will definitely be back for more smoked turkey ribs, broccoli cheese cornbread amd smoked cabbage. Highly recommend.“
“Lunch today was excellently prepared and served. The service is top-notch; you're greeted when you enter; there are smiles and pleasantries from the staff; and outstanding assistance. I ordered the Hamburger Steak with Gravy sitting a bed of rice, sweet potatoes, cabbage and cornbread. Everything was well seasoned and generously served. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, my lunch money will be spent there!!!“
“Great food but very long wait. They appeared to be cooking dishes and bringing them out one at a time. There were only 2 other tables seated when we arrived and waited over an hour for the food. BUT when we got the good, it was SOOOOO GOOD. We got the brisket philly - Amazing. Kids got fried shrimp, cooked and seasoned very well.“
“The gal that took my order @ take out counter was very nice, friendly, helpful & attentive! She waited on another person after me & very nice & helpful! The meal was delicious ? hit the spot however the pieces of fish were very small as 2 pieces equaled 1 piece if sitting in the restaurant. The fries were like Wendy's fries & not like yall used to have! I called when I got home & a guy answered the phone & I told him my concern & he said he tells ppl to check the order before leaving which I didnt know I need to but I will from now on if i return. Me & a friend split the meal. The price was fine, the fish tasted good ?, she wasn't happy w/ her meal or her pecan pie so the 5* was more for the gal that took the order even tho my fish tasted good the pieces were way to small. The food I would rate a 3*Parking: Got a place near take out door.“
“This was one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had, I'm was in Memphis visiting for a conference and found this place close to the Hotel, best hospitality from the owner, and on top of that the tastiest food you have had in your life, if I come back to Memphis I will be coming here daily.“
“The food, service, and experience of eating at this restaurant made me eat there twice. The restaurant and employees went above my expectations to make me feel special. This restaurant is a great place to visit and dine in and I recommend it upon your visit to Memphis. I can’t wait to return to Memphis to try a new dish from the menu. The catfish, mac and cheese, hush puppies, and greens almost took me out, lol very delicious and the dessert was simply to die for.“
“This is one of my Monday lunch spots that goes in and out of my rotation. It will fade off my radar and then I will remember to get by here and I'll go a couple of times a month for a while. They serve a rotating menu based on the day of the week. I have been on other days, but I like the side choices best on Mondays. My go to is usually Smothered Pork Chops. My sides vary a bit, but I regularly get Northern Beans, Mac & Cheese, and Cream Corn. There seems to be a sweetness to everything I've eaten. Sometimes it can be a bit much and will sometimes spur my hiatus. Everyone is so friendly here. I've never encountered a single employee that wasn't cheerful and efficient. In all honestly, it's better than most places I go, anywhere in Memphis. It's cafeteria style, so you walk down the line and choose what you want. You can tell how fresh it is before you choose and I dig that. Dining room is good. Watch your step, platforms in and out of the booths. Someone will come get your plate and trash. They are always there to make sure you enjoy your food. I'll be back for sure.“
“Wow! A hidden gem in Memphis! Amazing Food and Great Customer Service. The owner is a Professional and Excellent cook. The Fish Sandwich was the best I ever had in my life! The steak fries were huge and well seasoned. This place is a must stop in Memphis especially if you're headed to the Casinos from the city.“
“My wife and I were in town and wanting to try some local stops. We ordered catfish, okra, and creamed spinach. It was absolutely fantastic! It was maybe the best catfish I've ever had. The okra was damn near perfect. The staff were very kind and friendly. Do yourself a favor and stop in. We'll be going back.“
“Lord behold, I found a diamond!!! Walking into this place felt like a warm hug. Yes, it is a restaurant in a house!!!I love the concept of fellowship and having dinner with people you don't know. We all set around the table like one big family. And the smells that were coming from the kitchen just took me away, and when I got to taste the food. It was just like my mom's, God, rest her soul. I truly enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere n the hospitality was phenomenal. I will definitely be back !P.s try the kool aid??“
“Really great breakfast, great atmosphere in a convenient downtown location. Fun art on the walls, nice food to choose from. I had avocado toast, with eggs, hash browns and coffee. When it is crowded they ask guests to limit seated time. Fun art on the wall.“
“Looking for great Southern food and a family-friendly atmosphere, this is the place. I love it. Southern Fried Chicken, Southern Fried Catfish, homemade cornbread muffins, homemade mac and cheese, and much more see the Menu I attached. The gentleman who works at the greeter station is always awesome, treats everyone with a smile, and a thank you baby...lol! he is so patient even if you are new and helps you with great recommendations depending on what you like. The best VIP (Tea/Leamond) I had on a long time. Southerners, this is a must try. I'm a Southern girl born and raise, trust me, it's home cooking.Vegetarian options: They have plenty sides a vegetarian can eat see attached menuParking: Parking Lot is really small, nice number or parks, but it can be tight, spacing is small, but not the worst.Kid-friendliness: yesWheelchair accessibility: yes“
“They have the best soul food I have ever eaten. I love going here for breakfast and lunch. You will never be disappointed at all. Good service friendly staff great atmosphere.. if u in Memphis please stop by and get one of the best plate ever“
“This is just one of the restaurants I have been to in Memphis Tennessee that say a lot since I am born and raised here I have only been here twice planning to go back a third and fourth. Food is always delicious the setting is very low-key the surround windows bring in just enough light every time I go I make sure I get the soul roll there so good and I don't even eat Mac& cheese and greens that damn dipping sauce for them all I can say is DAMN!!! On my second visit I tried the chicken bowtie pasta so the best pasta I ever had Jesus had to put his feet in it“
“Love this place! Good ol southern cooked foods!! Love going and getting a vegetable plate. With the occasional meats! The only issue i have is .. Not enough cornbread when I get the vegetable plates (i always get the cabbage &/or greens with the juices) i run outta cornbread before i run outta veggies! Lol“
“Very affordable dinner especially recommend the meat plus two vegetables with bread. Only thing that is a disappointment are the deserts. Cobbler is not fresh, seems stale. Hope they'll consider improving their deserts. Fried eggplant for a vegetable is especially a nice pick that few restaurants offer.“
“What a treat! This is food that is prepared with love and caring. I only had vegetables and yet they were amazing. Cooked nicely — yams were soft and sweet, green beans were soft without being mushy, mac and cheese creamy and perfection, in other words it was everything expected!Oh — and cornbread worthy of a southern cook!Looks like they have different choices daily. Look forward to returning and trying some chicken.“
“Precious was an excellent host while there! Family owned & family ran restaurant. Best soul food in Memphis HANDS DOWN! Their son is so adorable & that’s who took my order. He knew the menu & was so respectable. I’ll definitely be back next time in town! & they showed us the tour bus !! So fun !!“
