“I saw the almost-perfect rating and wanted to try a new place. The store was very clean. Even though it was pouring rain outside, the restaurant was bright and uplifting. For a pho place, the pho was lacking. I got hints of ginger in the broth, but none of the other spices that makes it pho - like star anise and cinnamon. The spring rolls were nothing to write home about either. All that being said, the charbroiled chicken rice dish was delicious. My takeout order of charbroiled pork banh mi was yummy too.“
“Pho Barr is raising the bar for Vietnamese food in the Webster area. I would put the restaurant up there with some of the top restaurants in the greater Houston area. The humble front of the building conceals one of the coolest decorated restaurants I’ve seen in a while. While keeping true to the Vietnamese roots of this cuisine, there is something distinctly Texan and H-town about this place. I’m loving the aesthetic from the Vietnamese murals to the neon wall decorations and lighting. I was feeling the ambiance and vibe of a place you can hang out and have a great night. The service was prompt, being greeted and shown to a seat right away. Drinks were brought to the table immediately and the food arrived what seemed like mere minutes after ordering.I ordered the Cơm tấm sườn bì chả (Broken rice with grilled pork chop) and the Vermicelli bowl with grilled ribeye. To drink I ordered Bạc Xỉu (Vietnamese White Coffee). The Cơm Tấm Sườn Bì Chả was exceptional. I had planned on just getting a bánh mì until I saw this on the menu. It says its seasonal, so I’m not sure if its temporary but you need to come get this asap. The pork chop was tender, juicy and incredibly flavorful. The rice was good and the shredded pork skin was an amazing addition. It added a nice little crunch to the meal. The egg cake (Chả Trứng) was delicious . It was like a quiche with the consistency of meatloaf. There was a hot sauce that accented the meal perfectly. All around the dish was astounding and astonishingly good. The Vermicelli bowl with ribeye was really good. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the nước mắm was really good. I couldn’t believe the portion size. I’m not usually paying attention to portion size but the sheer amount of meat in this bowl was impossible to ignore. It definitely put some other restaurants to shame. The Bạc Xỉu was very good. This was my first time trying it. I usually get cà phê sữa đá or cà phê muối, so this was a nice change of pace. It had a smooth, delicate flavor and almost reminded me of chocolate milk with more of a coffee flavor but lacking the strong bitter coffee taste of cà phê sữa đá. I enjoyed it.The menu here was quite large with an impressive variety. I cannot wait to come back and try some of the other dishes and drinks. Please show Pho Barr some love. Your appetite will thank you!“
“Excellent pork Bahn Mi. I usually call it in and when I arrive, I am entertained by watching them make the various items they sell. Place is clean and staff friendly. I always say I'm going to try some of their other menu items, but I just can't get past not ordering that pork Bahn mi!“
“My wife and I love this place.. the Korean Honey wings are top notch! Crunchy and sweet with a perfect touch of heat! We had no clue we loved Sri Lankan cuisine until we tried the fried rice that can be ordered to your desired heat level, we like it spicy. If you’re looking for something different at a great price this is THE place to try“
“This is a really cute banh mi shop that also serves boba and some ice cream. Everything is fresh. The pate chaud was delicious and had lots of meat filling, and the outer pastry was soft and buttery. The banh mi was soft and chewy, with a good amount of meat and vegetable filling. I do wish there was more butter and pate inside. The croissant sandwiches are great, just wondering if it's supposed to come with a whole croissant or just half of one? Because mine came with the bottom piece of a croissant and that's it lol. Portion sizes are not bad. The sandwiches are skinnier than your normal banh mi but they're like a foot long. Service is hit or miss, with some issues with communication during ordering. However, the lady making all the banh mi orders in the back is the sweetest! If you do want your banh mi a little more crispy or toasted, I suggest putting them in the airfryer or toaster oven for about 2-3 minutes.“
“The staff were very friendly and helpful. I asked multiple questions about their menu and they were happy to help and they answered all the questions that I had.The food here is delicious and they serve good portions too! Some pho places only give a limited amount of meat/noodles. But this place filled the entire bowl with noodles and meat! I got full and still had half of the food left and I was also able to take it to go. I will definitely be back, I can’t wait to try new foods from their menu!“
“Super cool spot with amazing food and drinks! Everything we had was super fresh and the service was awesome as well! Definitely recommend the crispy beef puffs! The filling was slightly sweet and the pastry was layered and perfectly crispy! They make some really good cocktails too. I recommend their lemon drop! The inside of the restaurant is absolutely adorable and they even have a flower wall if you want a photo op!“
“First time coming to this restaurant and I will be returning. I ordered the beef stir-fried egg noodles with a Thai tea and my husband ordered the special pho (small). The small is decent size and had great flavor. The staff were attentive and friendly. And the restaurant has plenty of tables and evenly spaced out so you won't bump into the people behind you.“
“Local favorite restaurant. We've been eating here for 15+ years. The pho is awesomely delicious. The people running the place are the nicest you'll meet and the service is the best. The restaurant is clean, pleasant, and comfortable. Also, the take out service is fast and easy. We always leave happy and satisfied. 5 stars.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly“
“I recently had the pleasure of trying the lemon pepper wings and and I must say, they were absolutely fantastic. The flavor was spot on - the perfect balance of tangy lemon and savory pepper. The wings were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I couldn't get enough of them! Not only was the food amazing, but the service was friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were able to make great recommendations.Overall, my experience at this restaurant was totally enjoyable. The combination of incredible lemon pepper wings and excellent service made for a memorable dining experience. I will definitely be returning to try more of their delicious offerings. If you're a fan of wings, this place is a must-try!“
“The food is exceptional. I have been working in the HOU area for 2 weeks and I've eaten here at least 4 times. The red roasted pork fried rice and lo mein off the charts. The egg rolls are great. The beef n broccoli, general Tso chicken, king food steak, EVERYTHING I've had has been top notch. Sorry I never took pics lol. But you won't be disappointed.“
“First time trying Pho 71 (old Pho 518) again after many years later. New owners were so sweet and courteous. Our family ordered phở đặc biệt, bún bò Huế, rice with grilled pork, egg rolls. They were all delicious! Phở broth was fragrant. Bún bò Huế was better than all the restaurants in Pearland. It was flavorful. My kids also love their Thai Green milk tea. It’s a must to order. We will rotate between this restaurant and Pho Ông Jas for our Vietnamese fix.“
“First time trying this place was when my husband and I were sick with covid a few months ago and our friend who isn’t viet, suggested this place to us. I trust her taste since she’s enjoyed authentic viet food before, so I gladly accepted her kind offer to send us food from here. Omg!!! I almost cried. When I get sick I crave homemade viet food, but don’t want to cook it myself. This is like having homemade food my mom makes or the really good viet restaurants in Chinatown. So happy!!! We moved to this area last year, I’ve tried some of the trendy newer viet restaurants along 288, but still wasn’t super impressed especially with the prices. But Thanh phương is great and typical family style orders where you get enough to feed the family. And taste is phenomenal - just had egg rolls, egg noodle soup, viet salad (goi), and some other things. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!! So far it almost reminds me of our family’s long gone favorite restaurant, jade. So thankful my friend introduced us to this place!!!“
“I use to come here a few years back when I was vegetarian because they have a pretty big vegetarian selection. Also the jackfruit bahn mi is a favorite (my husband loves to order it even tho he eats meat)! I came back today since I’m cutting meat out, again and it was so delicious! Cheese puffs were nicely stuffed with enough cream cheese. I usually don’t like the sweet sauce that comes with cheese puffs but theirs is so good and you can taste the hint of chili. Tofu and veggie vermicelli was exactly what I was hoping for and I even added a side of their amazing jackfruit to my order and mixed it in to my vermicelli bowl. The steamed veggie dumplings were my favorite thing we ordered! It didn’t taste vegetarian and was so flavorful topped with onions and sesame seeds, soaked in sauce. Their service here is polite and consistent! I had tipped when I ordered and after my meal I had to tip more in the tip jar because it was so satisfying! Thank you Nu Wood and the sweet lady at the register! I’ll be back to try more dishes of the vegetarian menu!Dietary restrictions: They also have a few vegan dishes“
“I love this place. I went for the first time yesterday. The young man behind the counter was super friendly, helpful and patient.(I wasn’t sure what I wanted). I ordered the thai tea, crab wontons, shrimp spring rolls, pad thai and the green pho. Man, everything was delicious and fresh! Very well seasoned without being too salty which I find common in a lot of Asian foods. This was so delicious I plan on coming back today for a late lunch haha.Very well done place. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Good options for vegetarians“
“Very happy a high quality Vietnamese food establishment is here in the metropolitan of Alvin, Texas. Big city taste in a small town. Met the owner Johnny and he was very humble and polite. I’ve been working in Alvin 3 years and struck a gold mine here. Come try the Pho, it’ll attack all the right taste buds!! I’ll be back!!“
