The rice was very well made and while the tacos tasted good it wasn’t nothing to necessarily write home about. I’d stick to the gorditas and try the chicharrón and whatever else the amazing cashier recommends. Definitely a Durango and Zacatecas style place. Very authentic.“

“So good! I got the beef and garlic sauce and the combination fried rice. So buss’n! Big pieces of marinated beef with veggies and mushrooms. Combination fried rice has jumbo shrimp and big pieces of juicy dark meat chicken, and big pieces of beef. So yummy. So hot and fresh. They even put chili oil. Its worth every penny. “I had a bad experience with the previous owners, so I came today, decided to give the new management a chance…….. and had an amazing experience!The new manager went above and beyond the food was spectacular. “Never knew Torchy's Tacos on Garland Road was so large and inviting. The bar area is a great place to meet neighbors and make new friends. I went last night to see a gal pal and we ended up laughing our way through the evening with a fun group of customers. SHOUT OUT to the bartender Rita "As in Margarita" she told us - easy to remember. She's been there 8 years, starting with four in the kitchen and then moving out to behind the cool bar. She was very efficient, chatted up the customers a little, kept the bar area clean and did it all with a friendliness that was pretty amazing since she's pregnant! THIS woman deserves to be moved into management: organized; hard working; smart. What are you waiting for Torchy's???? Give Rita a raise and a promotion!!! Although the menu clearly states what’s vegetarian, vegan and gluten free, it would have been nice if the actual food had labels next to it. It’s the best vegetarian and vegan food in Dallas, and it’s an all you can eat buffet. The courtyard is lovely to have your meal in. “Last night's Date Night with a Hottie led us to another East Dallas fave, El Vecino Tex Mex. Greeting us at the door was owner, John McBride, and his place was hoppin'!!! My better half and I bellied up to the bar as we waited just a few minutes for our table. I enjoyed a Maker's Mark Old Fashioned, and Sonia, a Pacifico. Immediately after being seated Edgar was quick to serve. We ordered chips and a massive guacamole as an appetizer. Then we shared sizzlin' steak fajitas. So good! I ordered another OF, while Sonia shifted to a Margarita on the Rocks that hit the spot. The Rita is El Vecino's offering during this summer's Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce Cocktail Passport program. So thankful for their participation. John and the EV family have been fantastic chamber members. Anyhow, John was running around, working the room, prepping tables and supporting staff. “There's nothing fancy about Dallas Diner. A small place with a few tables on the inside, patio tables outside, and several stools at the counter. The menu is classic diner fare with daily specials. In addition to the extensive regular menu there are menus for kids and seniors. My friend and I ordered off the senior menu. We both had eggs over easy and pancakes. She had bacon, I had the sausage patty. We both had coffee. Everything was prepared as ordered and tasty. And, to my surprise, filling. Service was cheerful, attentive, and helpful. Parking directly in front can be tight but there is adequate parking close by. A great place for breakfast. I'll try lunch another day.“

Gouda grilled cheese (not on menu) is so good! I opted for the sourkraut side and loved seeing caraway seeds and peppercorns in it. The other members of the part had roast beef and roast chicken sandwiches. We were all pleased with our meals. It was quite busy when we went. You can definitely tell people have been going there for years. There is a Deli, bakery, and grocery items from Europe as well. “Talk about a plush crust! My favorite thing about these pizzas are the crust, pillowy and crunchy. Great outdoor experience as it basically shares an outside area with Cane Rosso. Service is quick and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Great outdoor space for kids and dogs. Pepperoni is an automatic yes. We also got the monthly special. We can’t wait to go back and try some new combinations.“

Unlike the national chain up the street, these tacos are loaded with fresh, perfectly seasoned gound beef, lots of grated cheese, and a fair portion of lettuce. All served in a crispy shell that doesn't get soggy by the time you get your order home. I have only ordered via the drive-through window, but what I can see of the kitchen is that it appears to be kept neat & clean. The employees are quick to get the order out, friendly and courteous.“

“This little joint has been an East Dallas treasure for some time. When you think of mom's home made breakfast. Best describes Gold Rush, from the fluffiest pancakes which IMHO is their clame to fame. I might order a tradional fried egg and bacon breakfast, but bet your bottom dollar it's coming with a short stack of pancakes. As you imagine the tastiest ham slice. remember that they do lunch. fall apart pot roast, hamburgers will not disappoint, chicken fried steak, why not have an omelet for brunch, they'll do it just right. It's not a big place in any way. You get there and you see an empty table go ahead and seat yourself. if there's a short line. you might have to stand between 5 and 8 minutes but everyone in line is cordial. when guests leave their table, grab it, even if it hasn't been cleared off very shortly someone will come by a cleaned your table. while you wait hopefully a member of staff already given you a menu. Be ready when someone takes your order. and the place can be hopping. Give it a shot, I'm sure you will find your visit enjoyable and the food done right.“

When I got home with my food I was again impressed with the quality of the ingredients and and flavours which were all on point.
