“We came here unexpectedly looking for Mexican food by geographic proximity. Service was great, the host - a young man and our wonderfully attentive, kind server Britannia made our patio experience very nice. We were able to take our dog on the patio and they brought water immediately. We enjoyed the food and hubby is particular. He had a combo plate with cheese enchilada, chicken fajita and a crispy taco. He thought the ingredients were good quality and enjoyed his plate. I had green chicken plate. Very good. Great green sauce, lots of white meat chicken and very much to my liking. We would go back even though it is a bit out of our neighborhood.“

“The service was excellent! The food was good. However, the portions are very small. My wife ordered the mahi. It could not have been bigger that 5 oz. My kids (17 and 20) all wanted steak. But, a simple 8oz filet was $83 vs, a standard $50 at Flemmings or Ruth's Chris. Therefore I decided to share the 22 oz Waugh ribeye with my kids. It was the only economical choice. It was not enough food. On the plus side. The waiter was excellent!“

“Our first visit to Houston ended with a fabulous Easter Brunch at Guard & Grace. The Churro was huge, sinfully delicious, and enough for (4) to share. The wontons, burratta, and salmon sashimi as appetizers were all recommended by our waiter, and he was 100% right! All were mouth-watering delicious! We all had the steak & eggs for brunch as another recommendation, and again, BRAVO! Highly recommended restaurant. Great location, valet parking, beautiful decor, and great service. “This was my first visit to Josephine's. I stumbled upon it while driving home and noticed a sign for the restaurant. After a quick Google search, I discovered they specialized in seafood, my favorite cuisine, so I decided to give them a try. Two days later, I made a reservation. Upon arrival, the hostess warmly greeted me, and I requested to sit at the bar. However, I wasn't acknowledged for another 10 minutes until I made eye contact with one of the bartenders named Cam. He promptly provided me with a drink and dinner menu. I also interacted with Franklin, who seemed quite introverted and not the best fit for the bar atmosphere. Despite that, Cam was very personable, funny, and had a down-to-earth personality, making my experience enjoyable. The oysters were phenomenal, and I look forward to returning to try other items on the menu. Overall, I had a great time, and the "Drink, Right Time Wrong Place" was amazing.“

“This is why I love Yelp. I'm giddy when Yelp reviews point me to places like this, that I never would have found on my own. We were very pleased with the food, the service, and the vibes we found at Cochinita! We ordered The Desayuno (not pictured because my husband dug in before I could snap one) and the 3 Leches French Toast, a latte and a London Fog. All plates were emptied before we left. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and was beautifully plated. They have a collection of house made sauces and oils available to spice up your meal (and you can even purchase some to take home.) Cochinita is a real treat. The neighborhood is worth a cruise after breakfast for the murals, too!“

“I went last night with my mom and best friend to celebrate my moms birthday. When I say it was the best birthday dinner she's ever had, I am not lying. Our server (I wish I could remember his name, he was a sweetie!) was amazing, extremely attentive, and very kind. Rene (I believe is his name) the manager, was extremely thoughtful. He brought champagne as soon as we sat down and he also brought my mom a card at the end of the dinner. It was so thoughtful and amazing! The service was excellent, our cups were always full and our table was very clean at all times. The chickpea crepe, sourdough, and escargot were amazing! “Dined in on Sunday with a couple of friends and had Ryan as the server. He provided excellent servicing to my table despite the equipment supply issues that the store was experiencing. The atmosphere could use some improvements, particularly the AC, because it was extremely humid and hot in the dining are of the restaraunt. There was also an employee name Thanh that assisted in that making our experience enjoyable (bringing out our food extremely quick as well as condiments, gloves, bibs) especially for cleaning up the water spilled by another table nearby that manage to reach our seats and providing towels as well as a mat to my friend who had sat down on the chair with water on it and got their pants wet.The Food was outstanding, not much of a seafood person so I can't comment on their crawfish, shrimp and other boiled seafood options but absolutely love their Fish sauce and salt & pepper flavor wings, so much that I had to get several orders for takeout to eat later when I got home; was assisted by an employee in the front (unfortunately I didn't ask for their name but it was an Asian male employee).Parking: Much easier to find if you park in the back; where the curbside sign is. “Nice place. We went for a birthday celebration, with high hopes having been to Bludorn. Restaurant is run well, you can feel it, waiters serve the whole table at once (we were 5) which was a nice touch, with settings placed beforehand. Thursday night so not peak crowds. Started with oyster shooters which was fun. Moule frites and endive salad were both excellent, and they brought out their signature biscuits as well which were delicious. Entrees were all good, not great, which was a little disappointing. Dessert was very good though and the small cookies by the door on the way out was another nice touch.“

“Good food but bad area.The area is a Pride area and if you are not part of the Pride Community you are not welcome in this area. Especially at night. Got to any place in the area after dark and they will assume you are gay too. Once they find out you are not gay the violence, stealing , and pissing in food starts.Niko Niko'd is a great place during the day. But in a dangerous area at night if you are not LGBTQIA+. If you are normal straight person you are not welcome there and they will steal from you and assault you to get you to go away. Be warned Straights!!!“

“My husband and I are in Houston TX for the first time. We walked past Potente and the building was eye catching so we made a reservation for that evening. We prefer the atmosphere of the lounge, so we dined at a table for 2. There was live music, which added to the environment but you could still hold a conversation. Our service was excellent, from the hostess, to the servers, the wine expert, and the chef (who came out to great us). We would definitely go back! The food was a creole Italian mix and excellent. We had a happy hour beverage the Potente 75, light and refreshing martini. We started with bread service (house made hummus was good, but I would have preferred butter or EVOO). We had the GAMBERETTO for the beginnings, which was an amazing meaty shrimp appetizer. For our mains I had the pasta and added the blue crab for protein source. I do not typically order pasta, but it was light and delicious. The pasta is made in house daily and I didn't suffer from any GI discomfort afterwards (I do not have celiacs but do try to minimize gluten). My husband had the veal chop with morrell mushroom risotto, it was tender and delicious. For dessert we had the TORTA DI MARSALA and a dessert beverage (my hubby's preferred way to enjoy his dessert). We would certainly go back! Excellent date night spot!“

“I ordered El Sombrero. I live close to the border. So I know mexican food. When I go away from on vacation, 99% of the time mexican restaurants are not good. BUT Pappasito was so great it moved to my #1 food restaurant to eat. The fajita broke easy. The rice and bean are great. Avocado and piccolo de Gallo were good and fresh. cheese enchilada was not drowned in the sauce that it overpowered the enchilada like other places. Chips and salsa were great that even my daughter was eating. With every bit, my taste buds were going crazy. Restaurant is actually very big than what it looks like. Again, this is my #1 restaurant. I haven't tried delivery or to go because it never tastes the same with all the food mix, and depending on how long it gets to, you might get dry and soggy. I recommend eating there. Whoever the chiefs were last night, March 14 2024. All I can say is, wow. Bravo.“

“Everything was excellent! We had 4 types of oysters from their "Gulf Gems". Really great choices, all with different, distinct tastes.The pickle juice mignonette was a new thing for me. Very nice.We had a variety entrees, served family style. Grilled Gulf Shrimp, Roasted Oysters, Fried Chicken, and Blackened Snapper collars. The Blackened Snapper Collars were fantastic! Today, I came here with my Cajun mom, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they haven’t missed a beat. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food was outstanding. “We are regular customers. Usually everything is consistently good with food and service but today the young lady greeting guests at the host stand was awful. She was probably new and she was not friendly or smiling at all. I can appreciate a new employee but it does not take training to be friendly and smile with people arriving for dinner. I did not get her name but she was the host greeting people Wednesday evening March 6th around 6:00pm.“

Service makes a huge difference in overall experience. Interior is ok. Lots of cultural decorations and murals. Lots of natural lighting. No major wow factor but it's all about the food and service. They have specials on certain days of the week (I think either tTuesday or Thursday), so if you want a deal, something to consider.“

The design of the restaurant speaks for itself, with its dim lighting and modern decor. They do the classic cocktails right, with their specialty being martinis. This eatery more than met my expectations, Rodney was very hospitable and explained their menu offerings very well! A couple of "regulars" came in for a quick drink and we made great conversation about their great experiences at RIAN'S as well. They were just opening and preparing for a busy day, but that did stop them from providing excellent service and food. I had the crawfish dip with the house made chips, catfish and crab fried rice.
