“I have to brag about two of the people working here. Ashley the bartender was so nice and her drinks are amazing! We sat at the bar and I had a chocolate martini and it was the best chocolate martini I've had in a long time. She was so sweet and personable. Andrew also helped get us a giftcard and even held the door open when we came in. Talk about service! Great experience as always. I just thought these two deserve recognition for their hard work and great personalities. Thank y'all for a great experience!“

“Amazing fried snapper w a potato batter. Sounds interesting, weird even. I know. AMAZING w the tartar sauce they offer. Fried oysters and fresh oysters were amazing. Also got the lunch special asian fried fish tacos w Asian pickled vegetables and ginger soy Glaze ontop. The sauce can be a little rich, sweet, overbearing. I added some coleslaw to it which cut that strong flavor back just right. Beers on draft. Good cocktails. Coconut banana soufflé was surprisingly very good. My son ordered it for his birthday. “This is a difficult place to review. Understand that it is a local dive which looks on the rough side, so 5 stars here doesn't mean it counts as fine dining, but the food is quite good and service is friendly. The outdoor seating is on a channel where you can watch the shrimp boats and birds and fish, and the odd local can dock their boat and stroll into the restaurant. It's a place where it is interesting to walk around and see what is going on while chatting with your friends and meeting new people. Unfortunately I hear that they will have live music and dancing there by the water, which isn't what we are looking for. Others may enjoy that sort of thing.“

Even with its saltiness, it has a nice amount of sausage and chicken and a pretty good flavor profile. I’d have it again. I also had the seafood gumbo. They cook the shrimp in it instead of adding at the last moment. And although really salty, I liked it, too. Abe’s looks to be a place that I want to sample more from the menu.“

“I have never heard of this place, but on a trip to Galveston four of us decided to stop in. The oysters were excellent. The waitress was super friendly and the atmosphere was amazing. I am from Tennessee, have a place in Destin Florida and over 30+ years have eaten at most all of the fresh seafood places around there.....Gilhooley is at the top of myist.“

“My family had a really wonderful experience tonight. Our waitress, Demi, was attentive, thoughtful, and accommodating. The portions were large, reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. From the surprisingly large kids chicken nuggets (think - mini chicken strips) and whole delicious green beans (nothing from a can, here) My shrimp Alfredo with seasonal vegetables was more than perfect. My husband (not a fish lover) really enjoyed his pecan encrusted red snapper. They even brought us wet wipes at the end - I know it sounds minor, but truly with a family (and baby in tow) this was such an enjoyable dining experience. “It was my first time trying Korean BBQ, and it was awesome! It’s $30.95 per person for dinner and it all you can eat. Tables can’t be occupied for longer than 2 hours. “Went for lunch with the wife at 2:00 pm. Restaurant clean. All the employees including the owner were super nice. Our food was fresh and great. We decided to have margarita. Sorry no pics. Best part it was happy hour so $5 for one was great and then the boss stopped by and gave us another shot to fill our glass back up on the house. Not the greatest I've had but I will definitely will get another one on our next visit. “I picked up the 3 fish and 6 shrimp. This a lot of food. Fish and shrimp are big pieces. Catfish was very good and perfectly cooked. Butterfly shrimp was fresh and just as good. Food was delicious. “I reserved the Emmitte Room to host a surprise 50th anniversary party for my parents. I live overseas and worked with Doug to plan the party from 8000 miles away without every stepping foot in the restaurant or seeing the Emmitte Room in real life until the day before the event. Doug was so great to work with! He not only executed the party flawlessly, but he helped to ensure that my anxiety was kept at bay. Brandice was the lead server the evening of the party and she was the ultimate professional and added so much value to an already amazing evening! “Went one afternoon for a late lunch and was able to indulge in the happy hour menu. It was not at all crowded and I did not have to wait to be serviced. For my appetizer, I had the fried okra and for a drink, I had the Hurricane. Both were good and the drink was surprisingly pretty strong and not watered down at all. I liked the crawfish etouffee but there could have been a bit more crawfish and less vegetables. Overall though, this was a nice meal. Service from my waiter was good and I will definitely be back soon.“

“Atmosphere is great, I got a lb. of cold boiled shrimp (it's shrimp only) it had a good spice and flavor (prefer medium sized) wife got the fried fish plate. I would compare the batter and texture to Captain D's (not country style), it also had a good flavor and the fries are kind of like seasoned fries. Very nice wide-noodle dish with a chili sauce. Wife had the Thai-style beef stew (PB6, or #7 on the Saturday lunch menu). I tried hers and was blown away! So much flavor, and the beef was super tender. I am definitely ordering that one for myself next time.“

“Really enjoyed our experience. Nice interior. Nice staff. And the food I would describe as "elevated" Mediterranean. Other Mediterranean restaurants the food can be dry but theirs is moist, flavorful, with good cuts of meat, not shavings. They also give a touch of lagniappe with added ingredients not stated on the menu. For example the meat skewers come with a grilled vegetable skewer. Their seasoned potatoes include carrots and onions. Even their kibbie appetizer comes with a side of pickled salad that goes great with it. So those extra touches stand out.“

“This place is so neat! We recently went with a group of friends and as soon as you walk in you're in awe with the fresh sushi being made and the bagoda style booths. Our server was super sweet and answered all the questions we had about the different types of sushi and appetizers. The appetizers, sushi, salads and soups, and hibachi are all included in the all you can eat price as well as soft drinks and dessert. I'm not a huge sushi fan but there were lots of veggie options and cooked sushi as well. Not too expensive either when you consider how much sushi normally costs.“

We usually order their coconut shrimp and baked potato and or fried okra. The service is nice, you can seat yourself most of the times. “Omg! This place has really good food. Our party of 15 tried out a lot of their food and EVERYONE raved about their dish. I had shrimp and grits. I'm really picky about that dish. Grits we're cooked right, creamy and I wanted more. Shrimp cooked perfection. They have a great chef. Price very reasonable $10-20 at lunch time. Our waitress was great considering we came without warning but she handled us and our separate checks perfectly. This will become a favorite.“
