i am against superlatives. But here goes. The new chef has no ego. He has brought back the famous Dean Fearing tortilla soup. The crab cakes - maybe 2% bread. They were excellent, as was the tortilla soup. My duck? Just right. My wife's fish - also right. Desserts - crème brûlée and chocolate sheet cake. Flawless. The chef's surprise? It is an elegant, comfortable, restaurant with attentive friendly staff. The food quality is always excellent. The expense level is very high, and probably overpriced. But it's an excellent special occasion alternative and a fine dining experience.

The service was very slow last night. We didn't get our food for an hour after we sat down. We were almost finished with our bottle of wine by the time our food got to our table. The waitress was very good and apologetic.
