Was I ever so pleasantly surprised to find this close to home. It was great to get a home-cooked meal.but in a cafeteria style restaurant! It was so nice to get treated so friendly, and the food servings were at a great price per quantity. The smothered pork chops and candied yams were the highlight of my plate! I can't wait to go back and try the fried catfish and other goodies they sell!
Environment could use some improvement. Had one of those old, stale smells upon entrance. Food was not all that hot in spite of the warmers. Smothered chops were decent. Rice dry and hard except the portion under the gravy. Greens were good. Cornbread had a funny texture, hard and rubbery almost. Mac&cheese was not good. The suicide daiquiri was hitting though. I haven't tried my banana pudding and I am not sure if I am. Staff was very attentive.

H-Town hospitality at its finest! I got the catfish plate and the only (small) critique I have is, I wish the catfish was seasoned just a bit more. But the sides and cornbread made up for it!
