“Don't let the school room tables and chairs fool you. Breakfast here is delicious. I mean Delicousssss. I had Juevos Rancheros and a pancake on the side, my partner had sausage egg and cheese tacos with a side of beans. Both of us had coffee. Let me tell you, everything was homemade and fresh. I would go there and recommend to anyone. I have not been for lunch or dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive. I wish they had coffee cups that were ceramic and didnt use plastic spoons but that will not deter me from returning (silverware is given for the food). The best breakfast in the Valley i.m.o.“
“Nice cozy little restaurant. Nice big booths and several tables. Wait staff was very nice and asked if we had any questions concerning the menu. Service was fast. We had our food quickly. I had the crispy tacos and my husband had the cheese enchiladas. Both were flavorful and served hot. Well worth a visit.“
“It was our first time here and it turned out really good, my hubby and I shared a fish and shrimp basket tasted very good. I've never liked ceviche and when I saw it I was meh ? but I wanted to try it and OMG it was so good, nothing compared to the other places. We will most definitely be going back for more. “I have been visiting Brownsville for work from many years and could not find a decent halal authentic Desi retsuarnt catering to the needs of Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi or Middle Eastern / Mediterranean food. Options were always limited to IHOP or Mexican Sea Food places.So happy to find this place this visit, which has opened only 3 to 4 months back.Nice decor and clean and hygienic run family owned restaurant. The owners are always to meet and greet customers. A large variety of authentic halal menu. We tried Dahi Bara, Chicken Biryani, Nihari and took White Chicken curry for take away for Sheri. All were good and had fabulous Masala Chai tea in the end. The decor and cutlery was high quality which the owners advised was all designed and arranged by their daughters.In short we enjoyed our stay and food and would always visit them whenever we are in Brownsville area. Only one suggestion is to start oven made fresh naans too in future if possible. May be I am expecting too much as visiting from Houston area.Syed Shahzad“
“Came to visit my family. First time coming to eat at Calacas In Harlingen. Jessica is a superb waitress. Gave awesome service. Good was delicious. There was not a lot of waiting on the order. Love their patio setting outside. My family and I truly recommend everyone to stop by and have the delicious tacos, Pancho’s and the best Limonadas preparadas!!Parking: It’s parking lot is not only infront but also in the sides!Kid-friendliness: It’s a great place to come eat and hang with your kids.“

“This is some good food. Is it the best in the RGV? Nah, but it’s definitely worth the time and the money. I would not hesitate to eat there again when in town.Everything had really good flavor. It was all a little too greasy but it wasn’t so greasy that I couldn’t eat it.The chips and salsa were excellent.My associate says the food truck is better than this sit-down restaurant. Through overcoming what Covid through at you, to reopening with limited staff, pushing through what life throws at you, the economy and it rising prices and now to your sister battling cancer(and she will persevere).Establishments like you are what we need in this town….in this world. For those that have never been, yes they are curbside. But in no way does that stop them from serving you the best, freshest food, with a smile. The food is just like grandma makes. It just makes you feel all warm and cozy, while certainly filling up the belly. My family and I love to order from here and we try to as often as we can. We love to support our local hidden gems and this restaurant is a GEM.I was compelled to write this review, because of a post on Facebook. Someone complaining of the prices of a fajita taco and they can get a better deal at Stripes. Psshh…..I DON”T THINK SO!! You cannot compare a homemade taco to a stripes taco, no way. Prices for food have skyrocketed to an unimaginable high. Gas is ridiculous! Adjustments have to be made and therefore prices must go up. They have families that depend on them. Have I ordered a fajita taco from Panchito’s…yes I have. It was the best and freshest fajita taco that I have ever had, at any local restaurant. Though I must say, the carne guisada on the large 16 inch tortilla, with rice, beans, lettuce and tomato, is my absolute favorite. The 16 inch carne guisada taco, on the menu is $18.99 and the 9 inch is $10.99. Is that too much for a taco? Not really. Is it worth it? 100% YES!! Will I order it again? ABSOLUTELY!!You pay for the quality of the food, the heart that goes into the cooking, the smile and warm greeting when it’s brought out to you. I will come back over and over again. In fact, I had Panchito’s for lunch today. I had their lunch special of Calabaza con Pollo and it was THE BEST! I may sound like I am over exaggerating but my taste buds don’t lie….and neither does my belly.With that said, Jeanie, THANK YOU. “Heading back from South Padre we decided to give this place a shot. It's a simple restaurant with a small menu. The food was amazing! I ordered chilaquiles and a picadillo with cheese taco on the side. When the food came out, WOW! The taco was huge! It was at least 12 inches long and nice and full. The chilaquiles and picadillo was so good. I highly recommend giving this place a shot for breakfast.“

“Hadn't been here in over 15 years, thought I'd come back and give it a try. Surprised hours are still the same, but either way, their food is quite tasty, very good plates, and very well served. I enjoyed my plate it consisted of carne guisada, 2 enchiladas, rice and beans, and 1 flour tortilla, which those tortillas are so good. The reason I say this is because most restaurants have this some bitter taste at times as if too much of an ingredient in the flour tortillas, and these imparticular are very good and taste Freshly off the comal. I really recommend it. I'm positive that a Taco would be amazing taste. And like I said, their food is great. The sad part is they do not serve breakfast all day, just mornings, then lunch kicks in. That I was like, hmm, so much for breakfast for me. I mean, breakfast is not just for breakfast mornings, y'all. But it is what it is.. go by and get yourself some good authentic Mexican food..“

“First time & SO GOOD!Did some extensive research on what mexican restaurant to try for breakfast and happy this was the winner.We went quite early so it was dead but loved the interior, decor and servers uniforms. The place was very clean and welcoming. Bathroom was nicely decorated and the food was perfectly made with great presentation. “It's in a mall that seemed pretty dead, but the tacos are absolute fire ? If I say it once, I will say it 1000 times, the best tacos in the world are in the Texas Rio Grande Valley.Crispy mini corn tortillas, flavor packed meat, raw onions, grilled onions, cilantro, queso fresco, slice of avocado, squeeze of lime, top it off with exquisite creamy Jalapeño garlic verde sauce or chili de arbol Rojo. 4 of those, a soda, frijoles charros, and a freaking loaded baked potato (papa asado) for $10!“
“This place makes the BEST breakfast tacos in the Valley HANDS DOWN. The tortillas taste homemade, the salsa has a nice kick to it. I've tried places all over the Valley and this place beats them all. Plus the people running out are AMAZING people. If you haven't visited them for a breakfast taco you're missing out.“

Today we presented an official Wounded Warrior Project plaque to them to thank them for their hospitality. The food and atmosphere are always great, and the entire staff always takes great care of us and all their customers. “My husband was going to pay and was charged less then we were buying so he told the older lady to check what they were charging him and with attitude she said why my husband told her what your charging me is ok for me but I don’t think you’ll like it at the end of your day you won’t like it they were charging us 12$for a 25$ order and after she redid the whole order my husband didn’t even get a thank you“

They have no issue with you changing how it's prepared, like no bell peppers, extra onions, +/-cheese, swap veggies for sides, etc! They sometimes have a musician with a guitar, singing great songs. The owners, wait staff and atmosphere are always friendly, courteous, and just terrific!Dietary restrictions: Swapping sides is not a problem.Parking: Handicap spots are on each side of the main entrance.Kid-friendliness: Highchairs are available. They have two TVs. Baby changing table in ladies bathroom.Wheelchair accessibility: Level flooring, one story. All tables with no booths, so chairs can be moved out of the way.
