“I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to do so after visiting. I got my order to go (Birria tacos). I waited inside, and the staff was prompt and nice. The restaurant was CLEAN, i judge by the restrooms. If restroom is dirty the kitchen is too. The food was delicious and affordable. My new go to place.“
“My husband and i came here on a date night. We chose to sit outside and we were blessed with an amazing waitress, Marianna. She had excellent customer service from the get go. We proceeded to have our dinner and we were approached by the manager, Marta. She was just such a lovely and genuine person. The food was top notch. Not only will this be our date night spot but we will definitely tell our family and friends about this location. We will become regulars. 10/10 highly recommend“
“My first time here, and definitely not my last! I was visiting from Iowa and was invited to meet family for lunch. The staff was very welcoming and hospitable. The restaurant is very clean and spacious. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our waitress, l didn’t get her name, and the rest of the staff delivered awesome customer service. The owner stopped by our table several times to check on us. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are ever in San Benito Texas. Can’t wait to return!“
“Older restaurant is doing it right! They have no nonsense, honest to goodness, fish and shrimp plates to die for. Fried but not so fried that you taste the bottom of the pan, this is a legitimate threat to other seafood restaurants in the area. They have this down to an art and science. Along with this, they have some of the biggest glasses of sweet tea to order. Then, once you are done, you can ask for a to-go cup to take your drink with you. Previous encounters, they refilled the cup with tea, but alas, that has gone away. This writer is able to overlook this and give the restaurant a five star rating based on the food, the atmosphere (we had a genuine corrida in the middle of eating), and the service.Parking: Right off of 77 Sunshine Strip between Harlingen and San Benito, near the city limits sign.“
“Some of the best food you will ever eat in South Texas. Can't find food like this anywhere else. I make the best of it when I visit from Oklahoma. Food is delicious and always hot. Friendly service and a good environment. Lemonade and the coffee are the best.“
“The food was great. Had the grilled chicken plate. Service was good. The only thing is there are a few puppies around the place from neighbors. I dined in on some benches they have outside and dogs came by. They don’t bother you and I didn’t mind them. But I can see some people not liking it. But the food was awesome.“
“The food was really good and it didn't take long to come out. The waitress was super attentive, and she was awesome! Place is very spacious and I love the decor. Different lunch specials to choose from! Prices are reasonable, and plates are well served, plus the corn tortillas are homemade and fresh tasting!Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available“
“Quick service and great home made meals.Parking: There's plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: There were children having fun with the customers. Abraham is about... maybe, 5 yrs old. He's the owner's son, very polite and talkative. Abraham also Opens the door for you. You can just imagine...So as we exited the restaurant, he opens the door and speaks out... Very clearly... " Bye!" You're welcome and see you..!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access.“
“All is well, the only bad thing about this place is that, they need to keep up with their restrooms, very nasty! Waiters and waitresses need to slow down, on asking patrons if they're ok. They come around almost every 3 to 5 minutes. Let us eat, please! Your food, service, atmosphere is all great, except that!“
“Since this taqueria opened I have seen that they get a good amount of business. I decided to try them and the food was great! They're tacos are flavorful, well filled and not expensive. They have good size breakfast tacos on homemade flour tortillas too. Being here close to my mother in laws they're a good choice. Beats driving to Brownsville for good tacos.“
“My only complaint is that the food lacked flavor. I needed to add salt to the beans and rice. The fajita was hard to chew. My wife had the fish and she said it was too greasy for her taste. The queso flameado was good along with the corn tortillas. This was our first visit and we will come back to give it another try.“

“Very few places have that finger licking food especially when it comes to some barbacoa! La vaquita is already infamous for it's tacos and tortas but the barbacoa is on a different level. It's got the flavor that true barbacoa should have and not the taste of over spiced meat. Get there early on Sundays because they do sell out And you will have missed the opportunity for a great way to start your Sunday.“
“This was a by chance looked for a restaurant on Google and glad I came by. This is a little hidden Gem a little ho-jo in the wall great breakfast decent prices, good food, I yet have to try other dishes. Staff was very friendly. My waitress was a elderly lady named Isabel she was an amazing lady she is very hospitable and we enjoyed her company.“
“I had not had a problem till today. I always go n get barbacoa. But today. I ordered aguas. When I said no ice n he gave me lots of ice! After te6him I said no ice he refused to throw ice n he said he couldn't take them back. We ended up with 1/2 cups of aguas! I do understand why ppl can follow instructions!“
“At first the place was meh cause some staff members but now they greet you. The food is awesome but sometimes on the panchos the meat tastes like it was reheated and mixed with fresh meat. Sometimes the meat tastes like beef jerky. I haven't gotten sick so thats a plus. The tacos are pretty good too but the tortas are my favorite. Staff members keep it up with the positive vibes, yall are awesome and Jesus loves yall“
“There was a group of eight of us who went after church on Sunday. The waitress didn't speak much English but We were able to make ourselves understood. The food was absolutely delicious. I had to take half of my shrimp platter home there was so much. Everybody enjoyed their food tremendously. Two of us had shrimp platters, one had huevos rancheros, one had a cheeseburger, one had the enchiladas, one had a ham and cheese omelet, and one head of chili rellenos. I highly recommend this place.“
“Stopped to eat here on our way back home, very authentic Mexican flavor. Definitely recommend the tostada bowl for breakfast, the migas & American breakfast. Just with that I can imagine all else is great! Will recommend & stop by again. So good I forgot to take pics of the food lol. Enjoy!“
