I have eaten Berns in Tampa and Christner's Prime in Orlando and this place is on an equal footing.”

“I wasn't expecting to find such a wonderful place in McKinney, Texas. I've been to shabu-shabu places in Tokyo and New York City, and I've made hot pot with family many times. This place offers the best of both in a wonderful, flavorful, succulent, comfortable space. I hope to find a partner to start a franchise in Westchester County!I had lamb with tonkotsu broth, and all the vegies they offer. I added ramen noodles (the soba was tempting, too) and they made a wonderful soup to take home - lunch for tomorrow.Kid-friendliness: It's counter-style and very kid-friendly.”

Had the pleasure of having two Tx Pecan old fashions. The bartender is a genius. Absolutely delicious. Fun to mess with too.”

“My favorite coffee shop in McKinney. Great atmosphere, comfortable seating, friendly staff and amazing coffee. I love all the unique flavors they offer... try the Kentucky! I come here to work often and have not had a bad experience yet. There are plenty of plugs for those with laptops which is very thoughtful for a coffee shop to have. I've seen people bring in their dogs to grab and go, and love that they are dog-friendly. They also have great gluten free options, which I'm very excited about! I don't have to drive 6 miles to find a morning breakfast option. My only complaint about this place is the parking. Get there early!”

“This is always my to go place to pick up dinner, flavor is always there, I’ll go for the green salsa alone. Staff is always friendly, service sometimes is slow but is understandable since chickens have to be cooking for hours. I also recommend catering for parties, i did it for my son’s party and was super easy, yummy and cost efficient.”

They have coffee, I didn’t realize they had all this! Great meeting spot like a Starbucks.On a side note- as a business owner myself, you really need to rethink all of the bathroom dispensers and holders - there are cleaner and more efficient items you can purchase. For example- use a foam soap dispenser that is plastic with an added drip tray, it will not rust or leak. The toilet paper holder also makes a person pull out twice as much- use one that attaches 2 single rolls side by side without a key. The trash can is crazy small (get a Costco one that is larger). Paper towels, get a keyed metal unit that takes the trifold towels. It’s cleaner and limits use. Currently the bathroom honestly felt like a dirty shell gas station.”

The kids spaghetti was a bit overcooked and watery, but the sauce was good though it was on sweeter side.The both desserts were very good, and all the dishes had good portion of food and the price was reasonable. Food takes about 15 mins to come, so prepare for that. The full ribs is a recommendation. It's a juicy experience of tender bone detaching yummy ribs.”

Food was delicious. I will definitely be back.”

I won’t put them on blast because I know how the public is and I’ll leave the ball in their court to continue their practices but… it’s absolutely worth the rating. Let’s just say my drive through order was in correct when I got home. And when I called it in, they made it right in an away that you wouldn’t expect it from a fast food joint. My cashier was so passionate about all the various creations. The choices of pastries is glorious and it's almost impossible to choose from. I spent a little time deciding between the Vegetarian Mushroom & Goat Cheese Quiche (deep dish) and the Winter Citrus Pastry w Yuzu Pastry cream in the middle. I got the Winter Citrus Pastry. It was perfect, unique and artistic. I will be back weekly for sure.”

I know it makes no sense that I was on my way to the gym, but let's just say this is cheat day worthy. The ambiance of this establishment would benefit from wide plank wood paneling flooring to give it that real Parisian vibe. Right now, it's just a concrete pick-up and go space. Seating is on the right side but sparse. The clerk is sweet and had sympathy when offering options or checking in the back for items I wanted to order. I love how they have a great balance of savory and sweet pastries. The portions are large. Almond croissant had a flaky crust and soft dense inside. There was some aftertaste from the scent in the bakery itself. It's not bad but I'm not sure if it's an extract they add to the pastry itself. This place works with limited quantities so when something is sold out....it's gone. I just think if they see a need for slightly more inventory they should bake more. I was here at 8:00am and the almond croissants weren't on the floor?! Clearly, patrons are dashing to get this daily. Thank you sweet employee who thought to fetch more from the back!”

The food is actually excellent. My go to order is the cheesesteak with truffle Parmesan fries.Parking can get dicey on weekends. Worst comes to worst, park at the parking garage in downtown McKinney, walk over, and have a drink to make up for the walk.”

Tips are for service that goes beyond the standard AND for service personnel that make $2.13 and depend upon tips for their income. Counter service coupled with bottled tea full of terrible tasting preservatives is not something that deserves a tip.I think a tip line falls under “asking” for money. When a waitress is prompt, thoughtful, watchful for eye contact, beverages in need of refilling, etc, that’s when I enjoy tipping to say thank you and reward excellence.Otherwise, it is pleasant and very good food.”

Hidden on the backroads outside of McKinney city limits is this outdoor only seating, cozy eatery w/ a small bar; if you weren't looking for it you might miss it! Mom and I found out this land and restaurant is owned by a South African native who raises his own cattle for the restaurant. We really enjoyed the ribs, brisket and sausage. DELISH!! Another cool piece to this place is the sweet/quaint country store inside. They sell things like homemade local salsas, raw meats and a few other specialty items. I would HIGHLY recommend this place especially during the warmer months!”

Everything on the menu, which is quite extensive sounded pretty good but we settled on sharing a pineapple chicken salad sandwich and a bbq baked potato.Both were fairly good but we both agreed the bbq meat in the potato tasted a bit like the Lloyd's bbq meat they sell in the tubs at your local grocery store. I think if we were to order a potato again, it would be loaded with just bacon, cheese and green onions. They are massively huge though and we were unable to finish it.The sandwich and chips were good and just the right portion. We also ordered a side of fruit which also came with a lightly flavored cream cheese dip.They also have a salad bar which we may try out next time. It's small but had quite a few toppers to choose from. Overall, a great place to stop in for a satisfying lunch.”

The toilet paper holder also makes a person pull out twice as much- use one that attaches 2 single rolls side by side without a key. The trash can is crazy small (get a Costco one that is larger). Paper towels, get a keyed metal unit that takes the trifold towels. It’s cleaner and limits use. Currently the bathroom honestly felt like a dirty shell gas station.”

While I am not a fan of pizza crust at most places, Mellow Mushroom has the best and it has pleasant flavor and chewiness to it. The only thing I think they could improve on is service. We’ve had the same waitress twice and both times, my boyfriend and I noticed she never once came back after getting our orders. We have to flag other wait staff to get the check and refills. We’re not very big on service and care more about the food so it’s not that big of a deal. I would just take into account that if you’re on a tight schedule, it could take 30 minutes to get your check after you finish eating.”

“What a great new coffee option! I have tried many of the coffee drinks, favorites are Carmel Blondie and Mexican Mocha, but had a custom lavender, honey latte that was delicious. Love that their drinks are not too sweet and they will adjust as requested. Had phenomenal service from Emma B and Oleks every time I go in. Emma is my regular person and she is so kind and quick to offer suggestions on new drinks to try. Last time I was in she had read the company's spring newsletter and was able to tell me about drinks to look forward to for spring - so cool! Can't wait to go back and try the new spring offerings.
