I could barely hear my neighbors due to the lunch crowd.I didn't catch our waitress' name but she was great. She got all the orders on the first go and it came out quickly. She was great.The food was decent. I had a cheeseburger with jalapeños and fries. The fries and the burger are not a combo but it is still relatively cheap. I will say that the bun was nice but the actual burger was only so so. For the price I'd definitely go back but it wasn't really the best ever. The fries were fresh out of the grease and it was appreciated as I've been to other places where you can tell the fries had been sitting under a warmer for too long.Next time I go I'll try something different like the catfish or steak fingers.“

“Okay - I think the general rules need to be established, as well as acknowledgment of the fact that we were there after church on Sunday. Deacon Baldy's, by my best estimate, is the bar area itself. The tenders kept the lines moving, and there was typically a line. I wish I'd counted the beers advertised; there must've been close to 50, and though I'm a simple, Bud Light kind of beer drinker, it was a great view! So, now the food...There were 5 different trailers there, and 4 were open. Remember, it was a Sunday. Trailer 1 was BBQ, "BBQ Godfather" I think - It was closed. That kind of hurt my heart. Number 2 was an Asian place that I don't recall the name of, but it looked like mostly messy food, for a messy eater such as me - I've got menu pics for clarification. Number 3 was a crawfish truck - my neices & family seemed to like them, but sadly, I did not partake. Number 4 trailer was Uncle Tony's Burgers - my wife and MiL had their food and were raving about it. Number 5 was my pick - "Raise Pizza & Eats" and where I got my pizza from. Simple order done extremely well - as much Peperoni as they felt would work, followed by enough cheese to make it nearly impossible to pull apart. They succeeded! The crust was a little light, but expected with the amount of toppings. All in all, I think it would be a solid 9 out of 10, IMO.“

“This was our first visit to The Refuge and we loved it all. Our table started with calamari and steak bites. Both were cooked and presented wonderfully. We had filet with crab, braised short ribs, the halibut special and the steak burger. Every dish was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Our dessert choices were cheesecake, chocolate mousse dish, the bread pudding and a spiced old fashioned. The presentation of the bread pudding was a show. Loved it! We woke up this morning talking about our next trip and what we would order. This is definitely on our list now.“

“We stopped in on a Saturday. My wife and I both ordered protein style burgers. I got a double cheese with grilled onions and mushrooms and she got a single with grilled onions. We both also got an order of fries. She got a drink. Total was $45 w tip. A bit spendy. BUT. One of the best burgers I’ve had since moving to Houston and the fries were pretty awesome as well. Only drawback is the fries were clearly cooked in the same oil as other fried foods so my wife got a side of gluten with them. Not great but I don’t blame them as we didn’t ask ahead of time about gluten free. Sat on the patio and ate. It was quiet and nice. Definitely a keeper. Highly recommend.“

“I highly recommend this restaurant. We contracted The Original Rib Tickler to Cater my daughters wedding on March 10th and we were so grateful that we did. The owner, Catherine was amazing to work with from the initial emails, and then our first meeting with her that included an amazing tasting. I think we literally had tried everything they make. We chose 3 meats and 3 sides, rolls & all the condiments for the wedding. The Paulo Potatoes, OMG, delicious. Everything was so good and we were blessed to have Catherine herself working with her team at our venue. 2 weeks later and I am still getting comments about how good the food was. “This place has it all! I mostly love this place because they have small options to eat if you’re not that hungry like yakitori or Aji buns. Also one day I came in for lunch and as I was leaving a man in a motorized wheelchair was entering, and the server must have known them as regulars because he had their table ready with a seat moved so he could pull right up and had their sweet teas ready and in the table for them! It was very nice.Price: Prices very reasonable, not over the top. I don’t flinch at the idea of returning because of the cost.Food: Excellent food, I love the Aji buns and the chicken skewers. Ramen was very good, you can also get Sapporo or Asahi on draft which is nice.Ramen specific: The Aji tonkotsu is a solid choice, great broth and egg. The chashu is pretty standard but a good serving. Black garlic is a plus.Service: The server is always hustling and moving quickly. The pad Thai with pork belly is the best I’ve had in town, the Panang with pork belly is incredible and the fried rice with pork belly is to die for. There’s a theme here, I know. I get the pad Thai and panang medium spice and it’s just the right amount of kick while still being flavorful. I prefer to mix the pad Thai and panang together.The to go service has always been quick and the staff is friendly. Although I’ve never sat down and eaten here, it’s usually packed when I’ve picked up my food.I’m not a reviews guy but after seeing people throwing out one star reviews for reasons that don’t have anything to do with the food I had to speak up. This place is what you’re looking for.“

“Hubby & I went today around 1pm. Place was decently busy and had a great atmosphere. We ordered crawfish; which were FANTASTIC! My only complaint would be the service. Our ticket said the servers name was Amanda. Right from the get go she seemed unhappy to be there. We told her how many pounds we’d like and she started to walk off. I stopped her and asked if she’d please add corn/potatoes/butter/spice to the order in which she replied “it comes with it” and continued walking off. About halfway through she came to ask if we needed anything - Hubs ordered another beverage and we told her we’d finish our crawfish to see if we wanted some additional lbs. She stopped by again after we’d finished and we told her we didn’t need anything else “at the moment”. Next thing she stops by with the check and we never see her again (despite hanging out for another 20 minutes so we could finish our drinks). We considered ordering wings after a while but seeing as she never came by again we decided it wasn’t worth it. I’ll come back to Tailgators to get their crawfish but if I’m seated with her again I’ll absolutely be asking to move to a different section.“
