“Excellent! We had fried mushrooms and onion rings as an appetizer and they were both fantastic! Mushrooms perfectly cooked and right size. Onion rings were thinly cut and nicely seasoned. I had the fried shrimp and fish plate and it was enough for two! 6 shrimp and three pieces of fish. My hubby had the chicken fried steak and it was a real chicken fried steak! Nice selection of drinks as well.“
“We were here for Sandfest 2024 and had a blast we've never eaten in Aransas pass so we decided to try this place out. It was GREAT!!!! We all got boils with crawfish, shrimp,sausage, potatoes , crab legs and corn and everyone loved it. My little girls first time trying crab legs and she was in heaven, her new favorite. Shout-out to our waiter Raiden , he was the best! I definitely recommend this place! We will be back, for sure!“
“The salsa and chips were very good. I had the Ceaser salad with grilled shrimp - it was excellent. We had the combo fajitas which we both really enjoyed. The one issue I did not appreciate is that they only accepted cash - most people prefer using a credit card. The owner should just raise prices by 3% to cover the card fees.“
“I stayed at Tarpon Inn for 2 nights this spring during SandFest, and I was traveling solo. I really loved the property and my room. So many beautiful historic details remain, but my room had just the right amount of modern touches. If you're looking for a completely modern room layout, this might not be what you're looking for, but I loved it. My favorite part of the property was the porch and courtyard area out back. I sat out there with a magazine both nights, it was so delightful and relaxing. There was live music as well, I also loved that. Parking was easy, there are spaces on either side of the hotel. Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. Ferry is a short drive away.“
“We put our order in and got text 15 mins later. Brisket was the best brisket I've ever tasted and melted in our mouth. Ribs awsome pork was awsome. Chicken generous and awsome. Corn bread awsome. You'll know when you pull up from the smell you picked the right spot. Got lucky tonight.“

We were a group of six so we ordered three entrees and some appetizers and shared which worked well.“
“The pastries are so good! I got a raspberry turnover and it was flakey, sweet and delicious. Others in my party got cupcakes and cinnamon rolls. They heated the cinnamon rolls up for us and they were delicious too. Some tables inside. Staff was great.“
“Wonderful, service-hearted staff from the hotel to the restaurant. Jen at the front desk gave us a tour without hesitation so we could see more of the rooms. Really recommend the FDR suite for 2+ day stays. Great food! Beautiful rooms, and in great shape for the building’s age and for being in a beach town. You can tell the management and staff really care about the maintenance of everything.Food & drinks: Roosevelt’s was so good, and the photos on Google don’t do it justice. Wish I’d remembered to take photos, but it’s more of a cozy, rustic fine dining restaurant than as casual as it appeared to us on the photos. But the bar, 1886 next door, offers a limited version of Roosevelt’s menu, a more casual atmosphere and great drinks.“

“Fantastic date night spot! We got the cucumber salad, tuna scallion roll, salt lick roll & grilled seafood platter. It was delicious. The service was fantastic, the food was great and so was the atmosphere.Parking: There are two parking lots reserved for blue water cowboy alongside both sides of the building, a little tight, but did the job. There were about 16-20 spots in the lot we parked in. There were no accessible marked spots in the lot we parked in, not sure about the second lot. The sidewalk was definitely skinny and wouldn't be easily used with a wheelchair with tight corners and some curbs.“

Every bite was high-quality ingredients and perfect preparation.The server was very good. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to our table. “Visiting from out of town. Wanted to sit and enjoy the water. Check! We had already expected to order at a counter, which was no problem. The gentleman at the register was very nice and helpful. Fried shrimp was lightly battered, very nice! The Port a shrimp bowl was delicious and filling. The view is very pleasant. Indoor and outdoor seating. Same gentleman that was at the register cleared our empty plates as soon as we finished. We waited maybe 5 minutes for our food, it was hot and fresh I'm not sure why others wouldn't rate it a 5 star. The 3 ladies sitting next to us were also raving about their food. Good job Grumbles! “This place had AMAZING food! Elevated flavors with that classic fresh seafood that you may be craving. I highly recommend the mermaid soup, exquisite! For dinner, we had scallops and the seafood enchiladas ...it was all amazing. So very good! My scallops were the biggest I've ever seen, and they melted in my mouth! “Location was easy to find. Food was good, service was subpar. Seemed like the server was more interested in the incoming traffic driving in,than serving his customers. Overall, cool atmosphere not all it was hyped up to be, but we still had a good time!“
“Order the special and then told they were out. Ordered the same fish (not blackened) fried. My husband was far from impressed. I ordered the crab cake. It was so spicy that I couldn't eat it and neither could. my husband. We always look forward to getting the calamari and this time it was tough and chewy. So not so pleasant this time. “Everytime I stop by Port A, I have to stop by Port Aransas Poke. They have super cute paintings on the wall, and a little walk area outside to relax. Their food is so yummy and ALWAYS made fresh! (Takes about 15 minutes for crunchy sushi- That's beside the point.) YUMMO! Thank you Port A Poke!“
“Cannot speak highly enough about the refresh of the Black Marlin. We took the family for dinner one night and then brunch on Sunday. The food and service were absolutely fantastic. We had everything from the pasta Diablo to the ribeye for dinner and it was the best food I have had on the island. For brunch we had the eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, American breakfast and beignets. If you are port A you have to try this place!“
“We sat outside and didn’t wait long for our waitress who was very friendly with a great attitude. She was helpful and attentive. My husband and I both had the Mahi Mahi his with rice pilaf and mine with the asparagus. Both were excellent. I enjoyed sitting outside while the sun started to set. A definite must do again!“
“Well they make a beautiful Bloody Mary as pictured and the taste is amazing . The Fish n Chips are crispy and thick tartar sauce was great . The seasoned fries are a great contrast to the fish... definitely worth the trip ....Wheelchair accessibility: Great ramp very roomy.“
“Went with friends visiting from Missouri while out exploring. It was not very busy, the weather was beautiful and we sat outside. The menu had some awesome looking offerings but we were not looking for a large meal. 3 of us had the Lobster Bisque and the other had the Truffle fries! The Bisque was fabulous! The fries were very good too but the soup was amazing!Our server was attentive and funny while being very professional. I wish I could remember her name to give her props because she was great!As a Winter Texan, we will be leaving soon but hope to get back to Tortuga’s before we leave to try other items on the menu. Highly recommend!“
