“The Annex is an amazing spot to hang with friends. The chill atmosphere and delicious drinks made by skilled and friendly bartenders made our trip to downtown Corpus Christi that much more special. I can’t wait to visit again hopefully on a Trivia night or one of their other fun activity nights. We also loved the side patio with the heaters that kept us warm. We highly recommend The Annex and will be back!!!“
“So I’m giving a 5 star because this place is a hidden gem and incredibly nice. But……. The place was dead at 12am on Saturday night. The owner was drunk off his (you know what) (DOHisA) the lady next to him also (DOHerA) the girl next to her was blitzed as in gone. Not a good look for them. And owners should never be behind the bar while drunk. The bartender was new but excellent. The food was :/. With the right marketing and management this place could and should be packed every night its open. There are two bars with in walking distance and should be utilized to y’all’s benefit.You also need to make people feel welcome when they come in and not make it your personal playground, because that’s what it felt like.So please step up your game!!“

The burgers are ridiculously good and in the area possibly the best dive bar grill, but not staph infection dice but more just easy rider dive. The service is a little slow but in the era of not enough workers this is to be expected, hey more time for an extra beer.“
“We were on a recent vacation in Corpus Christi. This restaurant listed in top 10 of Corpus Christi. We chose an early evening/ late afternoon meal. This is not TexMex, but features traditional Mexican food from Mexico. Restaurant is located in a strip mall and not very big. I felt I was at a fine dining experience. Lovely restaurant and wonderful ambience. Service was excellent and personal. Our server suggested a selection that allowed a tasting of more than one item. We could select two items, our choice of type of tortillas and either black beans or charro beans. Rice came with the meal also. We were also given a soup in this selection or we could select another soup for a slight increase in price. I couldn't find this on the menu online to describe better. We were there at 4:00 pm and perhaps it was a lunch offering. Our individual meal selections were around $12.99/person. Three sauces were served on the table with our meal....a red sauce, a verde sauce and a habanero sauce. All were delicious. We opted for a tortilla soup and a poblano soup and although the entire meal was unbelievably delicious, these 2 soups were outstanding and so delicious we couldn't put them down!! We did order dessert which was the only thing disappointing about our meal. They were out of flan. I ordered a tres leches which was a cuatro leches on their menu. My friend ordered pineapple upside down cake. They were both very dry and not that great. Forget dessert. I highly recommend this traditional Mexican restaurant. Food, ambience and service were outstanding!! Go if you are in Corpus Christi!“

From the moment we walked through the doors we felt right at home in this cozy space. The staff and owner(s) should be proud of the guest experience this establishment provides. So first off, thank you all - we had a fabulous evening!We ordered our standard classics: My husband had the Hemingway and I ordered the Boulevardier with Bullet. Both cocktails we beautifully crafted and perfect to the last drop. Our server Brooke was truly fantastic! She easily guided us through the menu, giving us dinner recs as well. We had a hankering all week for tiki drinks and she pointed us to a couple that we on the menu. No shocker, these did not disappoint and were perfectly balanced. My husband is hell-bent on recreating his drink at home because it was just that good!During our time here we were treated to a live singer and her accompanying pianist. When we first arrived we were one of just a handful of folks. However, after we got our first beverages the space started to fill up. With the Bar, Lounge chairs and Tables lining the wall being full of patron, the space still remained calm and relaxing.All in all, this place is must if you appreciate craft cocktails.Note: We went on a Tuesday evening and had reservations for 6 o'clock in the Lounge Seating. I always opt for reservations if available. it's honestly a win-win for everyone. I cannot speak for weekend, but Walk-ins were being accommodated on the night we went.Thank you all again!“

Friendly staff, music at the right volume (and it's a juke box, so pay up if you want your jams on), good drinks, and a cool atmosphere. Yeah, it seems a little dirty, but it's old. Dirt and age, the lines get blurred... It's so old it's the longest running liquor license in the state of Texas (thus the "oldest establishment in Texas" on the exterior). “The ambiance was exactly what I needed tonight. The wait was only 20 mins, and we had drinks while we waited. Drinks were fun and flavorful. The chips and dips were good but the green sauce lacked flavor (add some lime and salt!.). I was skeptical about the food but it was delcious. Beans were a little runny but had great flavor! “Wow I saw the other reviews scores. And the dozen times I have been in there it's been nothing but 5 stars. The problem is it's not some fancy yuppy bar. It's a place you wipe your feet when you leave, and you know what, it's a great feeling. It's old, rustic, low ceilings, and dark. When I say old, it's rustic old. Sure it smells like smoke and I help with that smoking my cigar Everytime I go. The girls working the bar are great. I say girls but let me correct that, they range in age from 30's to mid 60's and all have their own personality very fitting with the place. People are friendly they will chat with you if you like it or not. Ohh come in the back door, the front door is for the tourist. Ok that last part I made up, but really everyone uses the back door.“

“Yall! Peps has the best fajitas of any mexirestaurant I’ve been to in the area. I always get the fajita avocado salad, it’s my favorite menu item. I only have two suggestions, no comino in the rice (it doesn’t need it and it gives that weird after flavor you burp up for a few hours after eating it) and the beans need more flavor. Chop up some onion, tomato, cilantro and bacon or cueritos and they will be bomb. Other than that the food is ?“
