“Have to say the service at this place was over and above...WOW. We were there about an hr, and the waiters hit our table over 15+ times.. great job, ladies!!!The food was great also. We loved it. It's been a while since i had a good sausage and bacon on a plate..yum. Plate size and tacos are perfect for the prices.“
“Yummy! We had the small combo, which included 5 tacos, a baked potato with cheese and sour cream, and Charo beans. The food is NOT Tex Mex! The flour tortillas looked freshly made and were not gummy. A side of chopped onions and cilantro was brought for the tacos. Definitely worth doing again!“
“Well hello there!!! While working down in South Texas in Rio Grand City, a good friend put me on to this little Mom and Pop that tucked away. La Escondida is a Great find. Homemade everything and fresh everyday. Everything is so flavorful and very affordable. I was in town a week and made several visits for breakfast and lunch. I fell in love with the barbacoa and machacado con huevo ala Mexicana. The carne guisada is awesome and best Asads tacos I’ve ever had. Never disappointed nor dissatisfied. I’ll definitely be returning much as I can.“

“Excellent Service! Food was delicious. Ribeye was cooked to my liking. I had asparagus which was also very tasty and not overcooked. Tortilla Soup had a good broth taste and a hint of spicy Chipotle. For dessert I had Cream Brule which was out of this world. “We ordered a hamburger which the bottom bun of the burger was soggy but it was ok, red tacos were delicious they came with beans and rice but the beans were salty, and the brisket tacos they were excellent. The lady is very nice and sweet but she takes a long while to get the order done, but I don't blame her it looks like she's the only one doing everything, if your behind someone you'll have to wait for a long while for her to finish their order, and then yours, so it'd be best to call in and order in advance.“

“Place is so cozy and just nice! We loved the atmosphere! Food was great! They had two choices when we went. They served meatloaf and stuffed chicken. Since we got there almost at 1pm and made a late reservation, they ran out of the cornish hen dish, which I wanted to try, but the meatloaf didn't disappoint. Plates are loaded with big sides of vegetables and salad and a big baked potato loaded with goodness. Price is just right at about $14 per plate. I will definitely go back soon! Place is spick and span and restrooms kept very clean. Even the restroom was a site to admire. Lol.“
