“A real hidden gem, I feel like. The different types of Avo toast and smoothies are incrediable, and the vibe is relaxing and upbeat. They actually open at 7 am daily, so it already beats half the Killeen "Cafes"Vegetarian options: This Cafe caters to Vegetarians and Vegans with great Avo Toast selections.“

Grand Avenue Theater Cafe • $$

“This place has the charm of a smaller theater. It has an ice cream parlor themed concession area, smaller theaters, and a great outdoor facade.Chairs in the smaller theater rooms are not updated like the ones in their bigger theater rooms. The bigger rooms feature updated seats (reclining) for various price points. You can buy your tickets in advance online, but there is a $1 fee per ticket to reserve your seat. I’m picky about where I sit, so it’s worth it to me.“

“I went for the pies at Thanksgiving & Christmas. Their chocolate cream pie was top notch. This is my fave pie to get anywhere I go and most places have a soggy crust. But not here - the crust was light and flaky with every bite! Absolutely delish!Fast forward to last Friday and I did their Friday night special - 2 meals, 4 sides, and a dessert for $40. I got the ribeye steak tips w/shrimp and hubs got the chicken fried steak. My expectations were not very high on the steak tips and, to be honest, when I got home and opened the container, they looked like they might have been overcooked. However, one bite and my eyes rolled back in my head! They had grilled onions and the flavor was spot on! Very tender and very delicious! The place doesn’t disappoint! It’s a bit of a drive being in Jarrell, but oh so worth it!!!“

“This restaurant is hiding in a gas station, only open for lunch on weekdays, and has some of the best food you'll eat anywhere. For example, on Fridays they do a Fried Catfish plate (pic included.) I've ordered it a number of times, and it's the best catfish in central Texas. The hamburgers too are as good as it gets in Central Texas. Every menu item seems to be made with an old timey approach to diner food - where it's fast, tasty, inexpensive, and filling. I drive more than 25 miles one way to eat here, and do so about 6 times a year (would be more if they were open on Saturdays). The staff is friendly, too. Love love LOVE this place.“

“The food and drinks are absolutely delicious. I had the Nutella toast, and it was absolutely fantastic. So rich and flavorful. The new store is beautiful and spacious. The only slight downside is the staffing. I'm not sure if the store is understaffed but 30 minutes for two orders was a little bit too long. Very friendly and helpful nonetheless. Just didn't expect to be waiting so long.“

“Once again, food was delicious and excellent service. Therefore, my rate went up from last time to 4 stars. Keep up the good work, guys. I know there's room for the 5th star. Brought our in-laws that were in town, and they liked it, which is great. Nothing is worse than talking an establishment up and for them to disappoint. So for that, thank you. ?Vegetarian options: Had the eggplant Rolatini that was to die for, and for those of us following lent, it is good to see these types of dishes that not other taste great, but it was so filling and plenty of it too. Always try the lentil soup. Believe me, you won't regret it. This was the first time I tried the bowl (I always get the cup, which now I know was a mistake), and I think I will only order the bowl. That's how much I like their soup. ?Parking: Parking is plentiful. However, sometimes, it could get crowded depending on the day. Not for long, though.“

“Stopped in for dinner the other night, I was excited to try Rosslers BBQ brisket sandwich collab with Papas Cafe. The sandwich its self was fantastic and I expect nothing less from Rosslers, even with the lean it was great, paired with Rosslers own house BBQ sauce it was fantastic. Papas cafes onion rings were also surprisingly great.I took a tour of their extensive menu and got some of their catfish. Which was pretty good however $10 for 5pcs of catfish with no sides left me wanting.Their French toast breakfast sampler was an absolute delight and their French toast was definitely worth eating, so so good! However it comes with this cheap frozen grocery store sausage that was rather dissatisfying. The side salad was simple yet impressed me with its creamy ranch dressing which had a hint of freshness to it that kept me going.I was not excited about the $15 price tag for the Reuben sandwich which is little more than the size of a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with canned corned beef hash. Not the kind of Reuben most people expect to be eating. The grits were run of the mill, unseasoned and uninterestingDefinitely enjoyed their apple pie as the it’s served warm and the apples are perfectly cooked.Overall our experience was pleasant, our waitress didn’t seem to be having the greatest night and the prices seemed really expensive for a middle of the road diner. I likely won’t be back, not that I had a negative experience but only I could have a similar experience right down the road for a much fairer price.“
