“I haven't been to a McAlister's in a minute, just because they closed the one near me. The cashier was friendly and polite. I ordered the McAlister's club and switched out the chips for broccoli and cheese soup. My meal arrived quickly and was hot. The portions were sufficient and comparable to the price. The place was pretty active with customers coming and going, so that is always a good sign. They have good Arnold Palmers, so that is a plus. The restaurant was clean and the tables bussed in a reasonable time. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I wouldn't mind having lunch here again.“

“Top notch service. The staff is very nice and very attentive. The food is great! This is our go to place for special occasions. We just took our out of town visitors here yesterday. They also thoroughly enjoyed it. They wish they had a Chama Gaucha where they live in the northeast.“

“ELISE CUISINE is the manifestation of owner Rocio’s ten-year dream, and her dedication and commitment to her dream is evident down to the smallest details. The dining space is simple, but quite lovely, and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Service was excellent and perfectly balanced in attentiveness. With hours of 7 AM to 4 PM, this is a breakfast and lunch place, with a varied and adventurous menu that caters to meat-eaters, vegetarians, vegans, and diners in need of gluten-free alternatives. On my first visit, I had the excellent spicy fried chicken sandwich, with sides of home fries and a wonderful arugula salad with cherry tomatoes, quinoa, and a balsamic vinaigrette perfectly blended between sweet and acidic. I look forward to returning again and sampling the extensive breakfast menu. Plenty of beverages are available, and there is a stately espresso machine that speaks to a restaurant that means business when it comes to coffee. This area of Potranco has been in dire need of a sit-down coffee house alternative to Starbucks, and ELISE CUISINE is it. I’ll admit that I was initially a bit cowed by the menu prices, but the portions are very generous; I left with half my meal unfinished, so I was really getting two meals for the price of one, and in truth, virtually all the dine-in, non-fast food alternatives in the area are similarly priced, with nowhere near the ambience and elegance. I plan to be a regular at ELISE CUISINE from here on out.“

“Wow! This place is amazing. The menu is limited but changes frequently. The food is haute cuisine with a Texas flair. The cocktails are well done and paired well to the food. I was really entertained when the domesticated turkey would walk up and gobble at the fence. I have to eat Gluten Free and they were VERY accommodating with regard to making my meal safe for me. “I brought an out of town friend to this establishment right from the airport. It's a charming and culturally beautiful restaurant, adorned with Mexican tiles on the walls and stunning paintings. The service was inviting and welcoming. Our server was a sweet, charming man who was generous with the chips and salsa which were perfection! The chips were thin and crispy and the salsa had a perfect tangy flavor. I ordered tacos al pastor. They were served with house made flour tortillas with were fluffy and delicious. The beef was well seasoned and packed inside the tortilla. The charro beans tasted like my grandma made them. Delicious!! My mango margarita was the perfect addition to this exquisite meal. I'll definitely be returning.“

I got an enchilada with spinach and sundried tomatoes that was recommended by the server and my husband got the skirt steak, which she also recommended. Both were excellent. The drinks also did not disappoint. I had never had a Mexican martini (I'm a vodka dirty martini gal) and it was very, very good. My husband said their top shelf margarita was the best he's had in a long time. We're visiting from out of state and came here on a whim on a Friday night with no reservation and though it was very busy we only waited about a half an hour for an outdoor patio spot. “The entire time the Walt Disney tribute night was going on, there was a very young couple practically laying on each other. At no point were they at their table. They scooted their chairs back so far. They were blocking the walkway for others. I totally understand PDA. It's great seeing others in Love, but she was literally lying on top of this guy for the entire duration of the Disney movie song concert. I tried blocking them from my view, but she continued to try to get inside of him, I guess that was her goal. The musicians were phenomenal. Definitely see them again, just hoping those certain persons are not there again.Other than all that jazz, the food was Great fresh, the service was on point. Definitely recommend going.“

“Purple Garlic is our hands down favorite Italian restaurant! Coming here is like "Cheers" where when you walk in, "Everyone knows your name" and make you feel right at home. Chris, the manager, is so accommodating and keeps things running smoothly. This restaurant doesn't have an overly extensive menu, but what they have is prepared wonderfully. No matter what we have ordered, it always tastes great! Also, they make one of the best pizzas in San Antonio. Come here and you won't be disappointed!“

“The wife and I were in the mood for a quick bite (light eating). We did an online general search and out came “Dogfathers.” This turned out to be a hidden gem we’ve never heard of. The crispy dogs were on point, as well as their tator-tots. The hotdog was fully loaded and very tasteful. We will return!“

“I'm not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite place to eat in San Antonio. Located near the airport in a tucked away location, RO-HO Pork & Bread is a hidden gem. This is comfort food at it's finest. Ro-Ho has many great things on the menu, but they are best known for their Torta Ahogada, and it's what I get almost every time. The torta is always hot, the carnitas cooked to perfection, and the tomato salsa is to die for. You can get the torta with straight carnitas or you can mix it up with carnitas, pork stomach and skin, which is what I usually get. The torta also comes with cabbage, onion, radish and lime. No matter how you order it, it's going to be great! The place is super cool, with Mexican artwork and music. There is inside seating and an outside covered patio as well. Everything you can get to drink from the cold case is always ice cold. And they serve one of my favorite Mexican beers, Victoria. Chef Rojo is often around and greets customers. The ladies that work the register and food line are so friendly, and will answer questions if it's your first time. The place fills up quickly at lunch, so keep that in mind. I drive clear across town for my Torta Ahogada fix, if that says anything! Check this place out!“
