“The food was good and a competitive size for the price. The server was a bit scattered but did a reasonable job. There were not many customers. We had to send a drink back because it was horrible. Although they can't control the weather, the wind was a problem on the deck.”
“Come early! There's a line, and they run out of food. We arrived 45 minutes after they opened, and they had already run out of a third of the meat options. The elote and Mac and cheese were just delicious. The chopped brisket was moist and plentiful—a great place for lunch.”
“We love Waves by W456! I've written great reviews before, but just want to add that besides the amazing food, service, and ambience, David and Thomas have big hearts and are so willing to help our community. I asked David to donate something for the Mabank Fire Department's Annual Fish Fry Silent Auction, and was given the most awesome basket just full of wonderful items! Thank you so much for your kindness and tremendous generosity.Dietary restrictions: I love the way the chef serves my crab cake eggs benedict on grilled prosciutto to make it low carb for me. Thanks!”
“Got Smoked on the Go rib rack literally falls off the bone. I've never been a fan of ribs in the past, various reasons. I ordered the chopped beef samich, always excellent here. Each visit I heard interesting references to the rib racks. And it seemed like the customers all around had a rib rack. But I was still skeptical when Jim & Ann said I should at least try them. I finally gave in & placed an order for a rack for the next day.Well let me tell you. Jim pulled it off the smoker when I arrived, then ceremoniously demonstrated how tender & juicy the rack actually was by picking one of the rib bones and just sliding it right out of the rack. Whut?? I didn't know that was even possible. I'm already standing there awestruck staring while he proceeds to illustrate that it was possible to remove all the long bones. I started having actual hope that these would be the ribs that I could finally actually eat and enjoy (bite, chew, without a knife to cut cross grain into baby pieces).Ann & Jim are both smiling & laughing at my surprised expression, then encouraged me to take that first bite. Full of mixed emotions at this point, fear that the bite or taste wouldn't hold up to the visual expectations vs the thrill of possibly finding the elusive perfect rack.Realize I gave up trying to eat ribs years and years ago.I took my first bite. I barely had to chew. It literally melted in my mouth. It had the perfect resistance. The perfect chew. Perfect across the grain bite. I'm telling you folks, it was beyond perfect. Uptown New York fancy chef perfect. So perfect that I didn't even feel bad that I ate my fill in the car before getting it home to put what was left on the table for my husband for what was supposed to be a sit down dinner. No remorse either. Lol.”
“Finally made a trip to try out this little nook and it was pretty darn good! The breakfast burrito was delicious, definitely recommend it. I’m wishing I would have bought an extra cinnamon roll for a rainy day pick me up - super yummy! And the coffee was extra awesome, definitely worth the trip! Great job Rayne and staff! Trinidad, Texas has something special. ???”
“We ate in my husband had the Burritos plate, he said it was really good and really liked the hot sauce with the chips. I had a hard taco and the large Nachos. The taco was stuffed with meat lettuce and cheese, I mean stuffed and the Nachos were loaded, even had queso and beef on the first layer. I added my jalapeños, so good. Lots of food!”
“The tea room was great. The food was very great and the price was good. The Amish Muffins were super yummy. Everyone in our group said how good the spiced tea was.”
“The chicken shawarma is absolutely to die for. The flavor is full and amazing. The spices stand out and yet blend with the food at the same time. I could eat these three times a day.”
“We got a family pack with pork burnt ends, brisket, and sausage. I also got a Texas Twinkie appetizer. The sausage was pretty average and the brisket was dry. However, the Texas Twinkie was one of the best meat things I have ever had and the pork burnt ends were amazing as well. For sides the Mac and cheese as well as fries was fantastic. Definitely choose the Texas toast when you have a choice. Avoid the cole slaw and green beans. The service leaves much to be desired but in their defense it was kinda a tasty dive and they were suddenly swamped with people.I'd definitely eat here again.”
“Margarita Mondays $5!!! Food and service is great…plenty of chips and salsa ahead of your meal! Weekly specials and drive thru if you don’t want to dine in. Esmeralda was awesome!!”
“Kocoroko Munchies is a lovely snack shop that offers a warm and cozy atmosphere, filled with a wide variety of delicious goodies. Every time I visit, the shop owner and her family greet me with a warm and friendly welcome, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. I have tried many items from their vast selection, and I am yet to be disappointed with any of my choices. If I could give this place a 10-star rating, I would in a heartbeat!”

“Love BnR!! Friendly staff, great food. Always fresh to order. The onion rings are perfect and the wings are full sized, juicy and delicious not the scrawny ones you see other places.”
“We love Tavi's. It's the best Italian restaurant in town. We always order the fried mushroom appetizer....it's very lightly breaded and comes with a nice marinara sauce. Their pizza is delicious. My husband usually orders the eggplant parmesan and I like the Italian combo. The service is always friendly. And you can bring your own wine or cold beer!During my most recent visit, Flor, one of the owners, donated a $30 gift certificate for the Mabank Fire Department annual Fish Fry Silent Auction. I love that Tavi's supports our community!”

“Omg! This place was SO GOOD. I’m from Houston, capital of delicious food, and this is hands down some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. And the boba is delicious too. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town!!!”
“Met the owner,Rhonda, she is a gem. She is all about customer service.. It was my first time there and they we so nice and accommodating. Food hot and quick to be served. A local place for you pizza needs and other comfort food wants. Definitely would recommend this little restaurant. I will be spending a lot more time and money at this place.”
“Absolutely yummy!! Perfectly cooked fajita chicken, yummy beans (and I don't eat beans normally), the lady working was very kind and attentive. All around great experience, wish they were located in kaufman!”
“As close to what great gramma cooked at home. Fried chicken was light and crispy. Sides were delicious. Restaurant was spotless. Don't forget to take home a jar or two of their Candied Jalapeños!!”
“Hubby and I had between the two of us, green tea, edamame, shumai dumplings, shrimp and vegetable tempura, and vegetable yaki soba.It was all good and will be back.”
“Stopped in for a very late breakfast.Found the restaurant to be one very large room with two waitresses taking orders, being the cashier and bus help! The ladies were so busy they couldn't talk to the regular patrons or even listen to the answer after asking "is everything ok".Was considering the salad bar after looking it over I decided not breakfast.Husband ordered a scrambled egg sandwich with lettuce and tomato. I had my usual .. vegetable omelette, we both had hash browns. I would like to say the hash browns were good but, to me they were under cooked. I always ask for mine to be cooked hard or well done and these were not at all. After getting the bill, I always review it and I was surprised to see we were charged for hot water! I haven't yet found a restaurant that has dandelion tea on the menu, so I bring my own and ask for hot water $1.50 for water is ridiculous!”

“Dinner last night at Whistlestop was amazing! It was just the perfect evening from start to finish. Not only was the food prepared and presented beautifully, the service was perfection as well. Our server, Zach, was personable and efficient. He made the evening fun and interesting. You could tell he really enjoys his job and appreciates the people he works for. The server assistants, Kaden and Nielle, were very observant, and were very tuned into our needs during the entire dining experience. This team anticipated our needs long before we had to ask for anything.Whistlestop Restaurant will always be our favorite place to dine. Thank you to the owners for bringing this type of restaurant to the area.”
“Best spot for a breakfast burrito! Even with a long line of cars, they’re quick. The breakfast burritos are amazing. I usually get that bacon or chicken and it is a good mix of egg, potatoes (these are so good, so soft and buttery) and protein. The salsa that comes with it is also great, which I could get a bottle. It is my Saturday ritual.”
“The food was really good. I had the Steak and Shrimp Hibachi, and the Kyionekko roll both were fantastic. The cost was about what you would expect. We paid a total of $30 for both not too shabby.”
“An unexpected find on our road trip was this Tex-Mex kitchen tucked away in a hotel. Fast service and good food made it a perfect pit stop. The atmosphere was laid-back, and the staff was friendly. I tried the beef fajitas, and they were good. From the sizzling plate to the flavorful meat, it hit the spot. If you're cruising through and craving some Tex-Mex goodness, this spot is definitely worth checking out.”

“I’ve been using Lone Star Marina for over 4 years. The friendliness and professional staff make the difference. When I moved here, I kept my wave runner there for about 1 year. Now that I have my own boathouse, I continue to use them for fuel and rental needs when I have family visiting. I used them this last week to allow my boat dealer from Lewisville to pick up my boat for warranty work. The dealer ran late and the Lone Star staff waited, after closing time, to allow my dealer extra time to pick up my boat. I appreciate the willingness to help me without hesitation. That’s service with a smile !”
