“Great food in the middle of nowhere!Quite a small town.We drive over when visiting the Whitney area.A true classic reminiscent of the wild west.Dauber and his wife are excellent hosts.Be sure to call the day before and reserve or “guarantee” a steak for you.Excellent steak at a very reasonable price.The Hemingway sandwich is excellent but does take a bit of time to be made.Have a few drinks while waiting, the skinny margarita would be a good choice ;-)Parking: There usually plenty of parking on the street. Did I say it is a small town?“

“Wow this place is a gem! Food was delish and the atmosphere was laid back. Bartender was so kind and friendly. The owner was very sweet and attentive to the order I placed.Tater Kegs 10/10Firecracker bites 10/10Salad was fresh!Wings-THE BEST DRY RUB WINGS WE'VE EVER HAD! alot of variety of flavors to choose from too!Shrimp skewers were juicy and flavorful.We will definitely be going back!“

“Just had a nice experience here at Blackie's Came because of the steak reviews and we were not disappointed. Steak was prepared exactly as we asked. Portions were perfect, staff experience was a good balance. Received a welcome from the owner and manager will enjoying dinner. Other staff was also attentive as they passed by although our server was on top of her game. We will be regulars here now that we have found this quaint spot.“
